about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Miro, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

“Realtime Experiments (2018)”

There are occasions when we are jamming together without presetting any genre or style. In real time we choose the wave synthesizer, samples or connected microphones. On the fly we modify the source sound adding equalization, effects chains and compression keeping in mind the arrangement of a noisy musical flow and interacting with each other. We record the master mix and then cut the best parts out of many hours of raw jams, sort them and cut out odd sounds, re-compose track, equalize, normalize and finally publish an album. Proud to share with you selected experimental electronics of 2k15-18 period by 303 / “Trio Three”.

Tihomir Zdjelarevic

“Mikrowelt”

Tihomir Zdjelarevic is a Berlin based musician. He works with modular synthesizer, string synthesizer, guitar, Four track and hardware effects to create a large soundscape with a kosmic vibe. Influenced by the 70s psychedelic music, especially Krautrock and Berlin school of electronic music, he sent himself on a journey to resurrect the sounds into an another authentic experience.

Mikrowelt is his first year of living in Berlin summed up in one LP. Most of the album is made of layers after layers of modular synthesizer tracks with some addition of guitar, sax, bass guitar and field recordings.

Gaetano Fontanazza

“The Grandpa Lullabies”

This right here is not an album. This right here is not an EP.
This right here is a gift.
The best gift that a musician can receive.
The gift of inspiration.
A gift so overwhelming that needs to be given back in some kind of shape or form.
A gift of life, of love, turned into music.
Eight moments to lull you to sleep, to drive you home safe and sound, to hold you and warm you.
Lullabies are meant to make you close your eyes and numb your body, waiting for sleep to come and take away your weariness.
Lullabies are blankets, tales, emotions, caves, rays of light, windows, reassurances, and calm sands.
No rhythms whatsoever here, just flowing guitars, and sounds. To make you feel like a newborn child in the warmest embrace you can imagine, surrounded by the gentle sound of a grandfather playing you to sleep.
Sleep well child, sleep well you who listen, ‘cause someone is looking after you and he is eager to take the greatest gift of all and give it back to you.
To all of you.

Aiggom Gaudium – Alea iacta est

Aiggom Gaudium – Alea iacta est
[pn135]

Aiggom Gaudium

“Alea iacta est”

“Alea iacta est, luck or chance, may well be the ideas navigated by the musical work of Aiggom Gaudium (pseudonym Sebastian Moggia), in his first publication in Pueblo Nuevo, who does justice to the name of this EP in a way that is mysterious and almost cryptic.

Translated into English, the title of the album means ‘the luck is cast’, probably in reference to the artistic courage of trying to control the uncontrollable through music. The development, a mixture between the past and that which ensues through time, are shown here in an amalgam of references through which the author moves -and has moved before-, comfortably, as much in the mixture of styles with denomination of origin, as in the resulting sonorities and a musicality of neat technical style.

Links with the ambient, tints of arrangements with origins in traditional instrumental music, abundant in thick beds, classical pianos and electronic sequences, real or simulated violins and jazzy drums, these make up this group of four compositions with kind and sometimes melancholic melodies, they provide glimpses of finely intertwined electronic treatments; they are sonic layers that advance in atmospheres and unimagined landscapes, that through multiple listens necessarily evoke a different time, as if Aiggom Gaudium had tempted luck, taking it by the horns and submitting it to his musical will.”

Claudio Pérez P.

(Santiago, Chile. Septiembre / September 2018)

“From Viña arrives to Pueblo Nuevo the interesting project Aiggom Gaudium, the intellectual property of the musician and producer Sebastián Moggia, whose name has been hitherto unknown in the small world of electronic music, and who makes his official debut with this collection of 4 tracks entitled ‘Alea Iacta Est’.

Sebastian, as he himself has defined it, travels in this EP through past lives in different personal projects and styles, as much within electronic music and outside it, including techno, house, psytrance, drum & bass, chill-out, jazz and classical music. In this work he constructs with delicate electronic and acoustic elements musical passages of an instrumental nature that ignite in distinct moments, and with varied textures, the omnipresent and conceptual darkness of the author.

We move here through different scenes and sensibilities in an environment that is dark, but developed with “plot and drama”, with an emphasis on the subtlety of well-produced and mixed synthetic sounds, orchestrated environments, dancing to the sound of good beats and percussion loops. Sebastian here presents stories, with developments and a kind of script with distinct scenes in a single musical tour, as in his beautiful track ‘I’m Late’, which delights with its pianos, synthesizers and voices processed through a path with different nuances and breaks.

‘Canto en Púrpura (Song in Purple)’ is another mysterious story of the composer, with good rhythmic movement from electronic and real drum loops, a bit like Massive Attack on their Mezzanine album, which holds warm touches of synthesized pads. An almost cinematic view of a desolate landscape, but exciting to contemplate.

Completing this work are the pieces ‘Quasi una Fantasía’ and ‘Cycling’, which comprise a more intense rhythmic attunement, coated with processed analog sounds, acoustic pianos and voices from a heartfelt, ceremonial, and distant song, as in a revealing dream. As the composer tells us in his title, ‘The luck is cast’, because on a personal level this adventurous soloist has started on the right foot, and I wish him the best in his creation and new pathways. Enjoy.”

Ayato & Kecap Tuyul

“Flowers in the Trashbin”

Ayato & Kecap Tuyul met in 2008 and then started to collaborate regularily, mostly by file exchange. Flowers in the Trashbin was their first common work of this kind, a psychedelic sonic trip haunted by whispers and noises from weirdly tuned/prepared guitars, lo-fi electronics, & ghostly voices. Sometimes melodic, sometimes more abstract, always imaginative, these tracks were recorded and mixed between 2008 and 2009. The resulting album was released in march 2010 by HAK lo-fi record as a limited edition CD-R with a special rectangular cardboard cover that has been out of print since a long time. 8 years after both musicians still like a lot this album and would like it to share it with a broader audience.

Mahamboro

“Surup”

Selamat mendengarkan

Cheese

“Barnaby Comes Alive!!!”

Back in 2014 when Cheese N Pot-C first began releasing music here at blocSonic, one of my first requests was for Cheese to deliver a solo DJ / cut album. With turntablism skills of his caliber, I knew it’d be an incredible thing to hear. I long hoped he’d deliver but never pressured. Well today that moment has arrived with the release of “Barnaby Comes Alive!!!”! I have to tell you, when I found out about the project and got to hear it, I was giddy like when I was a teenager and first listening to one of my favorite hip-hop artist’s new albums! I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ve been!

Yo Cheese!!! You wrecked shit! So hyped to finally drop this cut albulation!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Cass Nova – Microorganisms

Cass Nova – Microorganisms
[pn134]

Cass Nova

“Microorganisms”

“Microorganisms” is a project that focuses on the innovation and composition of new sounds constructed from the cultivation of bacteria and fungi. A laboratory endeavor headed by the artist, based on recording the growth of organisms and their patterns of movement, which are then processed to give rise to sounds and, eventually, music.

While keeping technology very close at hand, Cass Nova also turns to more indigenous sounds, delivered by instruments with Latin American roots (such as Kultrún and Trutruka), which are recorded organically and which coexist in their respective musical pieces with scientific experimentation.

Aloyse

“Sounds of the Selves EP”

We welcome the first release of french artist (writer and musician) Aloyse. His refined electronic music evolves between ambiguous shifts and clear lines, using fuzzy textures, subdued melodies and sparse, fragmented beats. This diversity of approaches is also reflected in the reinterpretations by 8 other artists who remixed the 4 original tracks :
Canse
Demoiselle Döner
Doedelzak
Eg0n
Kecap Tuyul
Luxalove
No3sis
Stoé OrkéoPresentation of the project by Aloyse : ” Sound of the selves is a sound project between field recording and the art of sampling designed to be listened to during a stage performance. Shown in various places in Paris the performance “Parachute”, presented by the theatre company Machine, consists in a mobile dome under which one comedian faces one spectator. A couple of minutes to save the world from its delusions, a moment of intense intimacy before the world and its chaotic noise repeat themselves.
Sound of the selves is also an invitation to think and recreate the bound between the voices of the world and the voice of the machine: 8 musicians with variegated backgrounds offered an edit of one of the tracks in order to push one step ahead the endless communication between the creative forms of life.”

Ölü Körpe vol. 3 – Larynx

—–

Side Notes:

Why larynx?

Maybe because it’s the first musical instrument us humans knew in our entire life.

This is an attempt to make compositions (and also to make peace) with my voice as building blocks; still, it is hard to tame.

Except for the last track. I had fun playing with free piano app on my phone, and it complements and compliments the end result quite a bit.

Also shout out to my old friend from years back, Ms. Bamby C. who now resides in Jakarta; utmost gratitude for the permission to use some of her excellent writings for lyrics/general ideas throughout this release.

Tracks:

1. Calling All Gods On Deck (0:58)
2. Commute/Commune (3:00)
3. Zalongo/To Whom It May Concern (5:00)

Failure Circle – Frozen Clinamen #1

Failure Circle – Frozen Clinamen #1
[Eg0_184]

Failure Circle

“Frozen Clinamen #1”

Frozen Clinamen is a new serie of works started by Failure Circle (a solo project of Kecap Tuyul) in autumn 2017. It follows a simple method inspired by the the possibilities of his no-input mixer set-up and the will to use a limited sound material in a posteriori compositions. Frozen Clinamen #1 was recorded and mixed between november 2017 & june 2018.

Methodology
step (1) Tweaking the set-up until it produces some seemingly autonomously self-sustained sound sequences.
step (2) Stopping tweaking and recording for at least 20 minutes without any intervention on the set-up.
step (3) Repeating steps (1) & (2) several times.
step (4) Using the generated sounds as only source in a posteriori compositions. The only variations used while mixing are equalization, panoramics and volume levels.
step (5) play it at low/high volume with open/closed window while complety asleep / fully conscious.

Montague Armstrong – Hammond Hits

Montague Armstrong

“Hammond Hits”

Imagine a world where the sounds of sixties testcard music and the sort of music played between working mens’ clubs acts had been picked up by aliens and then sent back to earth for an intergalactic knees-up around the Hammond organ….
Difficult? It may not have been Montague Armstrong’s intention, but that’s what this delightful, effervescent concoction of tunes makes me think of. Jude Cowan Montague’s effortlessly cheerful tunes and Matt Armstrong’s always immaculately well-placed electric bass make this an unusual, but definitely desirable item from Linear Obsessional and also marks the third release in LinOb’s new Cassette Imprint series.Released as a professionally duplicated cassette with a picture by Katy Binks and design by David Little, and as a free/name-your-price download.
