about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Anton Mobin

“Collision at Epsilonia”

Sound artist and radio producer, the sound recording and the sound effects are the essential elements of his work of composition. Born in 1979, Anthony Baron lives in Paris and works where the improvisation and the sound creation is going full swing in the world. It is under the name of Anton Mobin that he produces his radio creations and that he occurs on stage. Anton Mobin’s sound activities evolve in two universes: the improvised music and the radio art. He defines himself his initiative in the continuity of the concrete music: his approach is directed on the listening of the sounds of the everyday life and their use in the radio composition, to develop an “extensive” concrete music.

Collision at Epsilonia (January 12, 2012)

Live performance for the Radio Programme Epsilonia dedicated to experimental music. It is broadcasted each thursday on Radio Libertaire, Paris / France (89.4 FM) from 22PM to midnight (GMT+1)

Claudio Nunez

“Nada es para todos”

“Nada es para todos” use the same procedures than my prior “orchestral albums” : piling up layers of overdubbed lines that I composed in real time as I play all the instrument with the spontaneus interaction tipically found in free jazz, without any prevous ideas about the melodies, rhythms, harmonies, styles, etc… The only exception is track 3 which is a collage of a melodica track cut in 3 parts and stack up like a fake counterpoint in the Frank Zappa’s xenocronicity style.” Claudio Nunez

tomas gris

“clarifications of the concept of object”

the first pyr release of 2012 is from tomas gris a free improviser based in madrid who is working on developing a sound language that combines his love of dada, art brut, and the cobra art movement with his interest in philosophy, semiotics and post-modernism. he performs alone and with ad hoc ensembles primarily playing reeds and amplified objects, but also incorporating various percussion and acoustic instruments into his pieces.

his first album for pan y rosas is a solo improvisation recorded in 2011 in which he plays alto saxophone, harps, cassette, and objects. throughout the piece he employs quietness and stillness; flutters, pops and breaths; cymbals and tones. his playing is deliberate and of the moment, without beginning or end. make sure to get it here.
