about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Downbeat – Introspección

[DPH029]

Downbeat

“Introspección”

Downbeat is a project that mutates, changes with the time, transforms itself with life, without limits and without borders. Their second album takes the sound a step further towards experimentation. Downbeat look at their interior and connect themselves with genres they always got inspired from: Dub, Dubtronica, Jazz and Fusion.

“Introspección” is the beating of their heart, each heartbeat navigated by a different state of mind. Looking at oneself is like a magical journey within, guided by the mystical power of the ancestral plants.

The dub sounds are present throughout the album with atmospheric musical landscapes. This is not the typical dub album, trying to look like its coming out from an island … this is the dub of the mountain … the dub of the Andes … the dub of the Aconcagua … the dub of Las Heras. That’s why it’s hard, dark, cold and different. That is why it has power, hypnotism, strength and a sound of its own.

Let us navigate within ourselves, with the heart pulsating on each beat. Heavy Dub, experimental Dub, dedicated to the universe and its infinite power. A triangle for all to travel (SOUND-LIGHT-SHAPE)!

Rich Sudney – 4 am

[DF-2]

Rich Sudney

“4 am”

The silent world of night beholds the bearers of the slumbering animals. As most of them meditate collectively in alterative realities guided by deep thought, a few of us work the midnight oil till the dawn hour where by the rising Taurus believes all was a dream. Restless and weary, the hours after 4 am calls the end of our nightly duty. No one sees nor can relate to works of hands on the floors of reality as many forgets day’s past events in love, anger or neutrality. These streets empty, dark, and sometimes inhabitant by floating spirits conversing with cold sub zero winds, are gently painted in white light equally erased by deep darkness. Store front buildings undercover by this darkness are reveled by second floor apartment lights, assuring their vacantness to the world. Silhouettes in the windows, we can only hope there living. Silhouettes in the windows, living is our only hope

Dubrajah – Reprise

[DPH028]

Dubrajah

“Reprise”

Our first release of 2017 and the second one on the label by the Russian social anthropologist and ethnomusicologist Sergey Gabbasov and his project Dubrajah is coming your way. You already know his release from year 2014 entitled “Enkang”, though which we discovered the artist’s ability to fuse a deep digital dub style with organic sounds, traditional African melodies and chants from the people of Maasai, Datooga, Hadza, Pemba and Zanzibar tribes.

The new album entitled “Reprise” uses the same musical recipe, but with different ingredients. It was recorded last year in Russia, Nepal and India and includes 8 new tracks by the Russian artist. By this album Dubrajah delivers his returning to the start and principal point of his researches – to Asia. Using sampled sounds from India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Mongolia, we are led into a magnificent dub journey through Asia. New sounds and vibrations, new destinations and inspirations!

All tracks recorded in Jaisalmer (India), Sauraha (Nepal) and Moscow (Russia) in March/November 2016. Photography by Sergey Gabbasov.

Cafeina Kid – Neko

[pn115]

Cafeina Kid

“Neko”

“The album ‘Neko‘ [pn115] from ‘Cafeina Kid‘, the psuedonym of the musician from Concepción Pablo Cornejo, consists of 12 instrumental songs spun into an assemblage that above all resumes coherence in continuity with the treatment of sound, composition, and style with which he has managed to effectively express the legacy of electronic music from the beginning of 2000 to date.

His compositions imbibe of various styles, mainly ‘Electronic Dub’ and ‘Downtempo’, with touches of ‘glitch’ that have been amalgamated with the use of the sampler, a resource with which he takes clips of audio from diverse sources, though mainly of himself. ‘Cafeina Kid‘ presents us with a record in which he looks and listens to himself, collecting sounds and stretches of previous compositions, placing them in an exercise that allows him to re-signify them. It is an exercise in memory, an act that Pablo tranfers in a fluid way and that he has realized since I’ve known him, a very long ago time when we exchanged with Mika Martini – since Ud. No! -, extensive chains of emails, reflexive writings on style, aesthetics, history and anecdotes that did nothing more than connect our work with the true sense of pondering music.

Today we hear the echo of these dialogues in a concrete result, a new album of ‘Cafeina Kid‘ that acts as a happy reminder at the same time as a focus towards what may come with his next creations. This, because ‘Neko‘ [pn115] presents itself as a solid disk with sufficient potential for expecting a possible future discography with the quality of what is left here, a disc in which he references styles that he supports with an undeniable personal imprint, through which he demonstrates timid warmth, a well-developed melodic instinct and a grand tact for presenting, every time you listen to his music, several possible and impossible worlds simultaneously.”

Red Star Martyrs – Red Star Martyrs

[DPH027]

Red Star Martyrs

“Red Star Martyrs”

The UK producer Stanley Woodfield, better known under the project-name Red Star Martyrs, has been one of the most active artists since the start of our label. After having released two EPs, “I & I” (2013) and “Time for Tea” (2014) and contributing in the compilation “United as One (2014), there was a silence for nearly 2 years. It has been a constructive silence … and today we are happy to announce his first long player. We have been saving this one for you to be our last release of 2016.

The self-titled digital LP includes 14 brand new tracks of total length of 63 minutes from the producer who has managed to set his own sound-mark on our label. Rootikal vibes with a twist and melodic dubwise sounds with live instruments played mainly by Stanley himself are the key ingredients of his style. Guest appearances by I-Rebel, Don Goliath, Madi Simmons, Tallis, Trinity, Kontent, Squidgy Black and Penti from Senti. Give thanks! R.I.P. Fidel, Hasta la Victoria Siempre!

All tracks written, produced and programmed by Stanley Wood. Guitars, bass, keyboards, melodica and live percussion by Stanley Wood, Flute on Suede Head by Andy Williamson, Artwork by Ruth Calder Murphy and Savvas Thomas.

Jack_plug – Calles verticales

[M021]

Jack_plug

“Calles verticales”

Jack Plug inhabits the architecture of the skies. The one that hangs from ‘vertical streets’ of some cities of the world, that slide, like Valparaiso, as if they were about to fall down, or turn into horizons that could swallow it all if the oceans should rise.
Valparaiso and its landmarks are not supposed to be minimal. In this case, the 3 musical paintings that André Baradit S. is showing are in a certain way “maximal”.
A mature producer imbued with electronic work experience, his different projects usually generate a good flow sensation.
‘Techno in progress’ could explain what’s coming with ‘LOVE’ (Radio Edit), the track that opens the door to this EP. Jack Plug plays with some kind of “arrhythmia” that is self-sustainable. The latter creates a balanced harmonic feeling, evoking childhood memories at the end.
There are multiple sounds reverberating along the 3 tracks. Also dub-ambient references are made, but without missing the link with the rhythm development and the strength of the bass sound.
‘Feriado’ makes you wonder wheter you are bumping into a russian sailor or intercepting communications of two world power rivals.
Now ‘Feriado’ (the word in spanish for ‘holiday’) becomes a starry night (and not just any night but the one when stars really shine after the lights of the hill’s houses are turned off) and the music is an explotion of stardust like a micro-flare choreography.
‘Investigación’ points to something darker and less defined. The ‘echoing-dub’ has a structure that gives short metal whiplashes, with segments taken from the break-beat style. When the EP Is about to end, maybe we are going to remember the old funiculars and feel lonely when the sirens stop making their typical sounds.

Eter Dub – In da name of Jah

[DPH026]

Eter Dub

“In da name of Jah”

Eter Dub was founded by the dub master Federico Balza, in Mendoza (Argentina). The project was floating around the air for some years until the first works came out in 2015 through a self-release called “JaH-Fi”. Federico Balza (flute/sax) is a graduated musician from the Universidad Nacionalde de Cuyo with studies on classical flute and member of the Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil (1st flute) in Argentina. As saxophonist (tenor/alt), flutist and keyboard player he collaborated with many reggae, dub and hip-hop bands like Zona Ganjah, Downbeat and Negritage touring around the underground scene of Latin America (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil).

Eter Dub offers a new fresh breeze in dub music. His sound cannot be framed into one genre. It is definitely dub, but with references not only to his classical musical studies but also into jazz, which is his second nature. Each composition offers originality and an alternative approach to dub music. From the “linguistical” approach on Hand Of Jah, to the slow and wild “Ras-Sax”, from the funk-jazzy “Jah Trax 5” to the adventurous “Jah Jah Love”, all seven tracks of the EP build a new concept of dub music.

Special thanks to Martin Musso and Richman Fyah for the guitars on this release, El Vignold for the awesome cover art and Salvator & Viento Zondub for the inspiration. Be prepared for something different.

“Sydney ep”

As I’m about to depart for a few months of backpacking (to work on white blazes 2) I decided it was only appropriate to start things off with a clean slate. So I’ve organized the few random tracks I’ve got floating around in unreleased states into the ep you have before you. A smattering of downtempo and more upbeat electronics for your listening pleasures. Dedicated to my little friend and constant companion Sydney the cockatoo who’s handsome face graces the cover

Mastermind SX – Keep on moving

[DPH025]

Mastermind SX

“Keep on moving”

Mastermind XS is a dub-project from Saarbrucken/Germany, created by Daniel Stephan (guitar, bass, keyboard, programming, sitar) and Heiko Petry (vocals, lyrics, melodica, keyboard). Their music is based on a solid dub foundation: heavy basslines with conscious lyrics and deeply rooted dub & reggae with an interesting twist, integrating many influences such as electro, ethnic music, drum/n/bass and even indie or punk. Their sound unites different styles, which hardly fits into one single genre and are always exploring new musical spaces, combining their Ableton skills and live instruments, forming a unique ear-candy-mixture of grooves.

They have been busy releasing their music since October 2010 on diverse netlabels. Their first EP “One Dub Many Roots“, was released on the French netlabel LCL, while in 2011 their first long-player ”Reset all systems“ was released on Angel Dust Records. Their next album “Freedom of choice” was released in august 2014 again on LCL.

Dubophonic is proud to host their new album “Keep on moving”. It’s a compilation of 12 songs representing their unique and unconventional blend of dub & reggae. Modern and roots-elements are combined with drum/n/bass, electro, dubstep, indie rock heavy guitars, conscious lyrics and of course deep basses and delays.

Mastered by the pioneering artist, producer and peace activist Celt Islam, their new release (and their first on our netlabel) is a proof of the duo’s strength and innovation: writing reggae and dub oriented music with socially conscious lyrics and musically exploring different ideas, oscillating between danceable and meditative, powerful and calm, groovy and heavy, on their quest to define the far distanced borders of dub music.

I Neurologici, Miz Brown, Resina, Ras Moray, Shiny D – Dub Lucky Riddim

[SDR032]

I Neurologici, Miz Brown, Resina, Ras Moray, Shiny D

“Dub Lucky Riddim”

Scorching heat, but the Riddim To Riddim series does not stop. Although late, this riddim comes to refresh us, previously unreleased but tied to the second release of the series, Get Chicken as fraternal twins.
The first two tracks are interpretations of two exceptional female voices, which give us two shades as diverse as equally intimate and personal. The first marks the return of Miz Brown with her powerful voice and her confident style, the second is the debut in the reggae scene of Resina that gives more new sounds to the Roman dub collettive’s music.
The third track is another Ras Moray’s song from the album Out Of City, always with a new mix for the occasion.
Our last guest is another Riddim To Riddim’s assiduous: Shiny D with another perfectly fitting melodica version.
As always the riddim closes the release, for use of those who want to try their skills with I Neurologici’s productions.

Laylah, I Neurologici – Amalgama

[SDR031]

Laylah, I Neurologici

“Amalgama”

Amálgama is: The mixture of different elements as a whole.
A chemistry between Mercury and Silver. Mercury is also the messenger of the gods (Greek mythology), fluid metal known as “prata-viva”.
Literally and peculiarly, Amálgama has the same meaning and basically the same spelling in a broad universe of languages, making it understandable for everyone.
In this album, refers to any influence that experiences (many of them unrelated to music itself) bring to the composition, such as family, places, everyday people , ethnic roots, common aspirations, everyday …
Amálgama is the willingness to talk about the world as living experiences.
The inspiration at the most unpretentious moments, which this album rescues, is the main compositions of the singjay Laylah along her way in Reggae Sound System culture, which began around 2005.
Amálgama is a fusion between music and truth.
