about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Miro, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

andrea pensado

“teraz, tak!”

andrea pensado works with sound as a performer, composer and teacher. she has been using digital media and live interactive musical systems since 1995. she studied in argentina and poland. at first she composed mainly for acoustic instruments, however, she gradually felt more attracted by different sound realms. today, the abrasive digital noise of her improvisations is far away from her earlier pieces. harsh dense layers of sounds, often interwoven with her voice, combine hybrid synthesis and sampling techniques to create a highly personal sound language, which reflects an intuitive, emotional and paradoxically also logical approach to music making. she currently lives in the united states.

teraz, tak!, her first album for pan y rosas, begins with a solo performance by andrea and is followed by a series of duets between andrea and the musicians: walter wright, davindar singh, adriana de los santos and alexei borisov who provide additional electronics, saxophone, piano and guitar respectively.

Everywhere Kingdom – 2 (Blue)

Everywhere Kingdom – 2 (Blue)
[UPL 047]

Everywhere Kingdom

“2 (Blue)”

The second album by Everywhere Kingdom follows the strict rules of the first release: All the sounds here are improvised, with no specific ideas as to style, rhythm, with open mind, letting whatever happens to happen. That said, this offering is quite different from the previous release – the recorded melodies, improvised using synths, guitars and effect pedals, were trimmed from meaningless meanderings and the most lyrical, trancelike repetitions were chosen and then meticulously layered atop one another in order to create bigger, sparkling wholes. However, apart from layering, no further processing was done post-recording.

The result is “2 (Blue)”. Often not sounding improvised at all, due to the melodical motifs developing gradually and being repeated to achieve hypnotic effects. Reverbing walls of guitars, blurry or shapr clear synth melodies flowing and intertwining, bubbling and gurgling effects combine into a pleasant, if often bordering on noisy, hallucinogenic sound trip.

We are very proud to release the second T.Bird album! About one year ago after their first release, the russian band with “tbirdintheelectronicmist” renew and confirm their strenght and their ability to compose “electronic space sounds” or, “krautronic” (as the band says). This new work contains eight masterpiece tracks, some recorded during impro sessions at the T-34 studio in Moscow. To feel the power, on the Net Video page, simply scrolling the playlist, it’s possible to watch one of the T.Bird impro session called “Hoi Bun Road” (May 12, 2012 filmed by Oksana Bychkova), a strong psychedelic journey…not to be missed!

His music is dense and horizontal, more rustling than noisy, it is not an imaginary landscape but a materialized presence. The rubbed/breath, metallic rattles, resonances, meditative feedback, electrical crackling , micropulsation and repetitions, all this amalgams to form the Quexias song between post-industrial “saudade” , electroacoustic and reductionism.

Marcel Chagrin and netaudio superstar D’Incise created an album under the moniker Heu{s-k}ach that will definitely be a momerable exploration into post-rock, jazz, musique concrète and avant-garde. We’re honored to be able to release such an album for free, a testament to Heu{s-k}ach’s generosity. Their ingenuity also tests our sense of fear and exploration as their obvious knack for suspense carries us through the many damp rooms found on the album. A slow, heavy walk through these corridors might dizzy the most adventurous of us but as you go on, the journey reveals itself to be within and the reward is uplifting.
Két certainly takes you to dark places, but peering long enough into its darkness will showcase its true beauty.

[LOR032]

Baby

“Near Wanstonia”

Recorded by a stretch of the A12, built in east London in the 1990s, ‘Near Wanstonia’ is an atmospheric journey, a distillation of a rich variety of sounds.

Almost twenty years ago, large scale protests against the construction of the road were ignored and Wanstonia was one of several ‘free states’ set up by occupying environmental activists along the proposed route.

The album, although at times resonant of sadness felt, is also a resilient, optimistic and an occasionally humorous expression of sonic life by the fast lane.

Previously known as Vole and ViV, the group’s third release is also a photographic exhibition with the recordings

Nature – Forget The Theory
[AT031]

Nature

“Forget The Theory”

“Forget The Theory” features two arrangements and five original pieces written by Kevin Higgins for his group Nature – a quartet with voice, electric guitar, electric bass and drums. The material was honed in a dozen live performances, then recorded over two days in spring 2012. The result is an album of dark grooves, mixing techno, funk and dubstep with contemporary jazz.

In the foreground, ethereal vocals and frenzied guitar carry on an improvised dialogue. “Forget The Theory” captures the energy of their alternating conflict and cooperation. Behind them there’s tension of another kind, as club-inspired drum beats threaten to melt into jazz cross-rhythms.

This album was built off basslines: some abstract and symmetrically structured, some just funky. Either way, every tune was designed to make you nod your head. Enjoy the bouncy pulse and powerful perfomances of a young band playing with passion.

Nature is:

Georgia Cusack – voice
Chris Guilfoyle – electric guitar
Kevin Higgins – bass guitar
Tommy Gray – drums

All compositions by Kevin Higgins except “Hard Time Killing Floor Blues” by Skip James and “I Remember You” by Victor Schertzinger and Johnny Mercer. Lyrics in “Mic Check” by Kevin Higgins. Lyrics in “In The Techno Tent” and “Extraordinary Vibe” by Georgia Cusack.

Recorded by Michael Buckley. Mixed by Shane Glynn and Kevin Higgins. Mastered by Scott Halliday.

“Strategy of behaviour in unexpected situations”

Jonas Kocher: accordion
Gaudenz Badrutt: electronics

The two musicians collaborate for many years in different formations in improvised music contextes. The duo developp a subtil work that explores the relations between the very electronic sounds of the accordion and the instrumental potential of the electronic. He collaborates regularly as accordionist in improvised and conceptual contexts with musicians such Michel Doneda, Christian Wolfarth, Olivier Toulemonde, Hans Koch, Alfredo Costa Monteiro, Duo Diatribes, Jacques Demierre, Christian Kesten, Gaudenz Badrutt, Chris Heenan, … .
