Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Background Radiation – False Start EP

Background Radiation

“False Start EP”

No-Source Netlabel is pleased to bring you the re-release of Background Radiation’s debut EP. The amusingly titled “False Start” was originally released in 2008 on Jog/Shuttle. The 2012 version has been recently remastered and contains a previously unreleased bonus track. This new track, titled “Recovery Basin,” is based upon elements from their 2010 track “Discovery Basin.” “Discovery Basin” can be found on No-Source’s debut compilation “Hey You, Choose Your Own Adventure.” Like Background Radiation’s second EP, “Moot Point,” “False Start” combines acoustic instruments with downtempo electro-pop experimentalism.

Hielo En Varsovia

“Hielo En Varsovia”

Hielo en Varsovia was born in Madrid in 2010 crossing the dark talents of Narcoleptica (guitar) and the interest of ex-members of 8bits To Die, Ki (keyboard and vocals) and Buddy (drums and vocals), to explore other areas in his new musical project.

The noise accompanying their anguished melodies creating landscapes closer to the subconscious that in real life, opting for a sound that mixes the new/dark/cold wave, with its obvious post-punk will.

His first album with us is the same name and contains 13 songs full of abyss and sulfur. A prodigy.

Apsis Lappet – The Fear of Farewell
[NS053]

Apsis Lappet

“The Fear of Farewell”

“The Fear of Farewell” is Apsis Lappet’s third release and second full length album. These nine songs are nothing less than face melting, tripped out, synth infused, pop music. Apsis Lappet has always been experimental in nature. Fans will be happy to know that “The Fear of Farewell” pushes new boundaries, contains many catchy hooks, and experiments in pop song structure. This album shares some sonic similarities with Apsis Lappet’s debut, “Suite Happy Sweet”. The track “Quickly Slow Me Down” has an infectious chorus, and an excellent keyboard solo outro. “Orgy” is a mellow, distorted fusion of heavy guitars, piano, and far-off vocoded vocals. The title track is builds with a simple chant into an instrumental crescendo. “Rejected” is a remixed version of an unreleased track. The Jenova 7 remix gives the track a heavy does of downtempo breakbeats. The album winds both up and down with “Anaerobic”, a short musical track with a long outro of static, radio hiss, and experimental electronics. “Hidden Track” closes the album with a melancholy piano ballad. “The Fear of Farewell” is Apsis Lappet’s most cohesive and mature batch of songs yet.

Naked Polly – In a cat’s dream

Naked Polly – In a cat’s dream
[NS052]

Naked Polly

“In a cat’s dream”

Naked Polly returns to No-Source with “In a cat’s dream.” The five songs on this EP were recorded prior to Oscar’s debut album. The sounds on “In a cat’s dream” are very similar to “A day in a night.” The difference is in the more acoustic sound found on the EP, not to mention Spanish lyrics. The songwriting and elements on psych are still there. The first three tracks sit nicely next to each other with their indie acoustic tones. “Fragil(e)” is the EP’s lonely instrumental. The album closes with “Nunca más”, a track that leads the listener out with acoustic guitar, piano, tambourine, and a touch of electric guitar.

Automassage

“Saxophone EP”

Automassage: The preference for poorly controlled distortions, mumbled vocals, stomach turning basses, crackling noisy ambience and lo-fi in general. That might sound all very funny, loose and airy, but the massagists simply just can’t change the overly sophisticated way they are, and after painful serious processes of composing, deconstructing and evaluating, they puzzle out complex musical structures.

Shortcuts – Thanks, I Feel Fine

Shortcuts – Thanks, I Feel Fine
[djummi.002]

Shortcuts

“Thanks, I Feel Fine”

Ichi, ni, san, shi!

Nearly for the last 20 years he has left his marks on the Dresden music-underground. In the 90ies he shaped bands like Aspekte der Eitelkeit und Montana Peachclub. During the last years he was responsible for the project Lindbergh. Every time he was interested in the intersection of the genres Folk, Pop and Elektro to form songs, which tell stories, erratic and with a homogeneous sound.

With his current band Shortcuts Andreas Schulze again remains true to his vocabulary. But not only the conceptual use of Nintendos playstation DS as an electronic sound source, but also the participation of drummer Julia Stephan (Flanschies) and guitarist Marco Sebastian Christ (ne:o) makes it possible to ensnare his thread with pleasant fine and rich in contrast ideas.

“Thanks, I Feel Fine” is the trio’s first album. 11 close-cropped songs, 11 stories in english and german language, a journey full of daydreams and sleepless nights, which ends with an enquiring gaze back and with the wish “AGAIN!” spoken out loud.

The Album is not just available as a free download, in addition the band offers a physical version in form of a 10-inch record containing the songs “Flying Jive”, “Stuhlstück”, “Holy Sand” and “Ulrich, die Made” plus the complete album on cd-r. All covers were designed by the band’s circle of friends. Each copy is unique.

Reverend Big O

“When There Is Only Light To Believe In/Hope For “

Often described as “Sweden´s slowest band”, this time Reverend Big O from Malmö explore the album formula rather than the pace. The album is put together as one long single breath and the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The music is rooted in 90´s shoegaze sounds like Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine etc. as well as post-rockers like Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions In The Sky

Zeugshmitz – twenty_eleven

Zeugshmitz – twenty_eleven
[APR012]

Zeugshmitz

“twenty_eleven”

The Alternative/Indie band Zeugshmitz from Brunico is making music since the 90’s. From the band’s formation in 1992 on, its members Egon “Niggile” Niederkolfer (bass), Gerd „Stolle“ Stoll (guitar and vocals), Klaus “Knut” Balzarek (guitar and vocals) and Matthias “Matti” Pallua (drums), have been active and valuable members of the South Tyrolean music scene.

In 1996 the band released its debut album “The Zeugschmitz” which was presented live in South Tyrol as well as in nearby countries. After that, the band took a break from performing on stage and focused on writing new songs for their 2006 album “It takes time”.

The band members write and arrange all songs themselves, played over 100 live shows with the same line-up and celebrated the band’s 20th anniversary in 2012. Just the right occasion to release the Zeugshmitz’s brand new album “twenty_eleven”, which is available as free and legal download on Airbagpromo Records right now: www.airbagpromo.com/records

El Pilar Azul

“#2”

El Pilar Azul, now as a stable band after the addition of Daniel Benavides and Cristian Munoz, present two new songs: “Double Reality” and “54”.The fact that they have already worked as a group grade and gives the music a new air. The guitars back in charge and thus a greater role in “Double Reality” we find a song more direct and forceful than the previous album “Diciembre” while the theme “54” is a fantastic instrumental, with rythm changes that will not leave you indifferent.

>From now on, we wonder what the next album will offer, with “# 2” opened a new path or are playing to confuse us? We look forward to hearing more from them.

Naked Polly – A day in a night

Naked Polly – A day in a night
[NS046]

Naked Polly

“A day in a night”

No-Source is excited to welcome Naked Polly to the roster. Naked Polly is the solo project of Oscar Granero from Madrid. His music focuses around acoustic guitar, piano, and voice, manifesting into some great mellow psych-folk. “A day in a night” is Naked Polly’s first full-length album. The songs are a-wash with reverb, sprouting flourishes of synths and wind instruments throughout. Percussion work is minimal or non-existent. This great use of minimalism really creates many great moments of an indie chamber pop sound. Oscar sights David Bowie, John Lennon, and Syd Barret as some as his influence. They definitely show through from time to time. It’s still a unique and refreshing album even with these popular influences. Enjoy a day in a night.

Sekotis

“Picture puzzle pattern door”

Tom Stokes returns with another Sekotis album on No-Source. “Picture puzzle pattern door” further melds the worlds of IDM and Post Rock. The track “Rivers & Mountains” sparks the album into existence with very little electronics. The piece is comprised almost entirely of cleverly layered guitar work. The second track, “The suns that teach the sky to dance” juxtaposes playful electronic melodies with distorted glitch beats. Definitely a nod to Aphex Twin. “Freedoms eroded” is the first track on the album that really mixes everything together into something that can only be described as Post Rock IDM. A sampled voice shouts “I will make you understand” as Sekotis presents his distinct sound. “Eldhraun”, the final track on the album, is over ten minutes of slow burning goodness. Drones, percussive melodies, and shimmering synths ebb and flow into an aural bliss.. Vocal on tracks 2 & 4 by Lucy Nickholds. Design & art by Mike Kram.

EL PILAR AZUL

“DICIEMBRE”

After the end of Proyecto:Estragos, Zeus decides to focus on his personal project, El Pilar Azul. Composed, recorded and produced this first collection of songs with the title of “Diciembre”, a hard intense, sincere and very deep. Here, the guitars, so present in his previous records, they give rise to the keyboards and add new colors to the musical palette of Zeus. For La Gramola Netlabel is no coincidence that this is our first reference, by the appreciation and admiration we have for this genius.
