about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Câmera Analógica – even the softest hearts need somewhere to rest

Câmera Analógica

“even the softest hearts need somewhere to rest”

It is another beautiful debut in the MiMi Records catalogue.

This time, the project Câmera Analógica presents even the softest hearts need somewhere to rest, an EP built as a collection of small scenes, inspired by the aesthetics of visual novels and the soundtracks of the 2000s. Each track is presented with beautiful lo-fi beats that capture an intimate, quiet moment, where comfort, nostalgia, and emotional pause meet.

The record moves through urban landscapes, lighter weekends, and moments of contemplation, creating a safe space for feelings that don’t need to be explained. The track titles carry personal meanings, yet remain open to interpretation, inviting the listener to find their own stories within the sound.

An EP to listen to on repeat with headphones.

M-PeX – Dialugus

[enrmp556]

M-PeX

“Dialugus”

New album by Portuguese project M-PeX. Between electronica and Portuguese guitar, between piano and silence, the album DIALUGUS unfolds as a journey in waves – fragments becoming flow, rhythms that breathe, light that fades and returns. Each track is an act of listening, and each listening becomes a dialogue – between stone and sky, between shadow and brightness, between what is spoken and what is felt. Created within the PRALAC artistic residency, released by Enough Records, with artwork by Marco Madruga, this album by M‑PeX is dedicated to his grandmother, Celeste Pinheiro, born on 25.05.1925. This year marks her centenary. This album breathes with her.

Nuno Pires – Animal Sintético

[mi347]

Nuno Pires

“Animal Sintético”

Recorded during the lockdown period, Animal Sintético is the result of an intensive exploration of a Novation Peak synthesizer, temporarily loaned by a friend.

The work unfolds through real-time recordings and modulations over the course of a week, with compositions built track by track and captured in single takes.

This release explores ambient and drone territories, progressing toward more rhythmic and percussive pieces at its conclusion.

Each track corresponds to a distinct synthetic textile material, evoking the idea that sonic filaments gain meaning through interconnection.

The title — born from a spontaneous joke about a faux fur coat — precisely reflects the EP’s aesthetic: artificial, textured, interwoven.
Animal Sintético is an exercise in material and conceptual synthesis, where instrumental limitation becomes language.

VelgeNaturlig – 2500

[mi346]

VelgeNaturlig

“2500”

The artist VelgeNaturlig (real name Ivo São Bento) combines dense, improvised sound environments and the use of analog machines to explore introspective audiovisual landscapes.

This work, released by MiMi Records, carries the listener through industrial and ephemeral soundscapes, where metallic drones and subtle pulses narrate without words. Its intimate, ritualistic atmosphere reveals a rare aesthetic — austere beauty and constant tension.

A demanding yet rewarding work — for those who seek deep immersion and creative silence.

Recorded live on December 22nd, 2023, at KIC (Kulturno informativni centar) in Zagreb, during ‘Ambientalika’.

jofi – ochre walls of heft

[mi345]

jofi

“ochre walls of heft”

It is yet another debut by a portuguese artist in the MiMi Records catalog.

The neck’s contortion, the hand flung into the void, the chest opening to a silence that rises from beneath the skin and folds perception inward—the introspection of not quite knowing what the body itself is feeling.

As a kind of retrospective, “ochre walls of heft” strips away the final layers of what this project has been: an exploration of abstract, unbound sonorities. Here, everything takes form and culminates in the electric and/or acoustic guitar, sent on a journey through three distinct soundscapes, equally indebted to Tangerine Dream’s expansive atmospheres and Merzbow’s abrasive intensity.

When he’s not unsettling his neighbors with new recordings, jofi is also a poet, painter, and photographer.

Various Artists – Unsound Sounds of Porto vol. 1

[mi343]

Various Artists

“Unsound Sounds of Porto vol. 1”

Unsound Sounds of Porto is a compilation dedicated to experimental music produced in the city of Porto, bringing together artists working in the realms of noise, improvisation, minimalism, and other non-conventional sonic practices. Rather than offering a unified or institutional vision, this collection seeks to open a window onto an underground scene that remains active and constantly shifting, often existing at the margins of established circuits.

It encompasses a wide range of practices — from structured compositions and studio pieces to digital collages, analog and hybrid experimentation, as well as recordings captured in real time. This plurality results in a palette where lo-fi recordings coexist with more refined productions, exploring both the raw materiality of sound and the possibilities of digital manipulation.

As a document, Unsound Sounds of Porto registers a community in transformation; as a listening experience, it proposes a fragmented yet coherent and narrative journey through the many forms of sonic inventiveness inhabiting the city’s interstices.

Cobramor – Flores do Vazio

[mi340]

Cobramor

“Flores do Vazio”

On a journey through the tide of impermanence, in this sonic Koan, we capture the notes of silence and, between each one, its echo. Flowers of Emptiness opens the door to a slow fire and here, as we burn, we become presence.

Flowers of Emptiness is an exercise in minimalism, desired with the intensity of a mantra. Inspired in equal parts by Hiroshi Yoshimura’s Japanese architectural minimalism and Terry Riley’s sonic mandalas, both seek to embody the cosmic void of Dōgen’s poetry, the guiding thread of this album.

Cobramor is an author, performer, sonic explorer, writer, translator, editor, and cultural mutineer.

Filipe Miranda – RōSHI

[[mi339]]

Filipe Miranda

“RōSHI”

A reflection on a world of feeling—human, artistic, and political—through the natural dynamic of the master-disciple relationship.
RōSHI explores the ineffable within this bond, emphasizing a chain of transmission where the hidden essence is perpetually renewed.

The installation (Dec 2022):
Music and video engage with Francisco Trabulo’s work in a timeless dialogue, suggesting a continuous, universal essence where death holds no meaning.

The performance (17 Dec 2022):
Ephemeral sonic elements are added to this ongoing flow, marking a unique moment that complements the installation. Life stories intersect, and transmission occurs.

Recorded live at the Vila Nova de Cerveira International Art Biennial, by Marco Lima (Hertzcontrol)

Note/Thanks:
The performance includes excerpts of Francisco Trabulo’s voice from a 2006 academic documentary by Joana Ferreira, Ana Maria Silva, and Bruno Costa (ESE-IPVC), produced within the Olhar o Real workshop – Ao Norte.

Anomalia Rodrigues

“Fim Do Maio Ou O Princípio Da Incerteza”

“Fim Do Maio Ou O Princípio Da Incerteza” is the latest album release by Anomalia Rodrigues (the project of the multifaceted Paulo Couto) and the artist’s second album with another alter ego on MiMi Records.

Here we have a project of free and experimental improvisation, recorded in a single take with a primitive smartphone and no post-production editing.

This lo-fi work captures the raw and spontaneous essence of sound creation, exploring minimalist textures and dense atmospheres. With six tracks that move between ambient, no-wave, and post-rock. It’s an album that challenges conventions and invites attentive listening.

An album that is a manifesto of artistic freedom and sonic authenticity.

iCe303 – Echoes Of The Void

[mi335]

iCe303

“Echoes Of The Void”

Echoes Of The Void, by the Portuguese project iCe303, is a deep journey through the realm of cinematic music and ambient, evoking soundscapes that resonate in the emptiness of space and soul.

With subtle textures and immersive atmospheres, the album echoes the legacy of Brian Eno, blending minimalism with restrained emotion. The tracks are not merely music, but echoes—fragments of sound adrift in a contemplative void.

A hypnotic, meditative, and exquisitely produced work.

With such emotional precision in his work, we hope to journey further into iCe303’s musical universe later this year.

Spore Designers – Cultural Strains

[LCNLP204]

Spore Designers

“Cultural Strains”

The Necrophile Hummingbird Netlabel presents Cultural Strains by Spore Designers.

“Dark Synthetic Music for Human Synthesizer”

Spore Designers are : HOMO | OresteS

When everything is possible, why do we make certain choices instead of others?
Experimenting with art—like music—is one of the most inspiring and transcendental things to do, at least for me. When you open new paths, traveling through unexplored lands, you are not here to plant a flag and colonize. Instead, you are drawing maps so that younger pioneers coming after you can reach these deeper places in the unknown and, in turn, open new paths themselves. Perhaps, just as Coil amongst many others did for us.
It’s more like opening your eyes, witnessing the light of a new day awakening. This expanded field of possibilities is a kind of call to all imprisoned musicians to break free from their cages.
Spore Designers is what happens when HOMO Met OresteS, but this music didn’t pop out of nowhere… In fact, it’s as if A Symbiotic Experience, rADio eNd, and Invisible Illusion form the basis of a triangle, and we are digging a channel through its center, leaving another dimension behind.
The music from Sequencing Life and Cultural Strains comes from the same source : the very first session I did with a sequencer—a Korg SQ-1. But each exists at different stages of evolution. While working on the tracks, refining and expanding them, I truly grasped the meaning of “spore”—how they can unfold, expand, mutate, and act like an endless spring, nearly infinite. Though, more often than not, infinity is simply the limit of our perception.
I wouldn’t say it’s exactly the same with other projects, but this one feels different—especially in the way rhythm is processed. It opened so many doors. It seems HOMO found the same approach I used in OresteS to emulate rhythm—thinking beyond fixed structures, outside any predefined framework. Not a mere pattern, but something closer to a pulse—like the play of raindrops, the wind drawing with tree branches, fire biting into matter, or the earth shaking through the bones.
We have a truly open horizon, free to go anywhere we like.
Now, let’s listen and see what happens in the next evolution.

Maybe you have a slight feeling of déjà vu ?
Imagine what it’s like to live in a world where most people imitate, instead of hybridizing, or even simply creating.

dgfy – Lolicore EP

[mi326]

dgfy

“Lolicore EP”

With over 15 edited releases, the Portuguese artist dgty finally arrives at MiMi Records. He is one of the few national artists who embraces otaku culture and, along with it, blends breakbeat and lolicore to create an experimental sound full of textures.

In this EP/Single with just two tracks, dgty gives us everything: fast and frantic beats, exploring lolicore with distorted, high-pitched voice samples, and the use of loops and glitch atmospheres to create a sense of deconstruction, maintaining a constant tension.

Lolicore EP is the name of this record, and right from the title, we can see the irreverence that reflects the provocative attitude of the music, almost as if it were a sonic transgression.

An EP perfect for fans of experimental electronic music and otaku culture.

Tiago Morais Morgado – Music For Motion Picture

[mi322]

Tiago Morais

“Music For Motion Picture”

Tiago Morais’s latest work is a bold exploration of minimalist and contemporary classical music, drawing deeply from the influences of iconic composers Philip Glass and Terry Riley. With an intricate and meditative approach, the album traverses a landscape of minimalist patterns, cyclical rhythms, and rich harmonic textures. This release is a culmination of Morais’s profound connection to classical traditions, fused with his ongoing experimentation with new sonic possibilities.

The album is a showcase of varied instrumentation, combining string quartets with solo violin performances and experimental re-interpretations of modern classics. Across its eight tracks, Tiago Morais presents a sophisticated interplay between structure and intuition, offering both technical brilliance and emotive depth.

This album is not just a reflection of Tiago Morais’s influences but also a statement of his evolving artistic identity. Drawing from the minimalist masters like Glass and Riley, he creates a sound that is both meditative and immersive. The inclusion of pieces by contemporary artists Nick Cave and Michael Gira adds a layer of modern resonance, bridging the gap between classical tradition and modern experimentalism.

Tiago Morais’s approach seeks to break the boundaries of traditional classical forms, offering listeners an opportunity to engage with music on a deeper, more personal level. Whether through the tightly interwoven lines of the string quartets or the raw intimacy of the solo violin pieces, this album resonates with the spirit of contemporary minimalism while pushing it toward new emotional and intellectual heights.

Nine months later Takuro Takeda returns with another beautiful EP with just 4 tracks.

These are deliciously down-tempo arrangements, which, when allowed to stretch to five minutes lock the listener into a deep and fantastical daydream.

A collection of four tracks that’s more like a kind of therapy, if that doesn’t sound too New Age – Takeda’s music is much more epic and expansive and emotionally reflective than New Age.

In other words, if you listen BoC you’ll like Takeda’s music.

as 2004 went on, I ended up going into deeper experimentation with samples and beats, eventually pairing those with dissonant and obsessive melodies. it was one of the most musically prolific years of my teens. thanks to that, I was finally able to feel my evolution as a producer in real time. before that year all my music sounded the same to me. after that year I learned how to listen to myself and to notice that I could sound very different from song to song without ever letting go of being me: maybe I was developing a style?
