about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, 28.1.2026

Hello, I have made a few changes to the site. Unfortunately, I am not quite finished yet, but it should continue without interruption. I hope you find the changes useful. Stay tuned. Konrad

This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work non-commercially, and although their new works must also acknowledge you and be non-commercial, they don’t have to license their derivative works on the same terms.

Wolne Pokoje – Kostropate

Wolne Pokoje – Kostropate
[mhrk285]

Wolne Pokoje

“Kostropate”

1: Common quantum physicists’ interpretation and statement is that there is no such thing as matter and what we all call matter, in reality is energy. The whole universe is energy, frequencies, vibrations. What we observe is energy vibrations that are slowed down to a level that is perceivable by our senses and sensors. It all exists thanks to forces which make particles quiver and yet keep the whole system together. Many spiritual or metaphysical things in essence have always been just physics which we have not properly seen and understand yet.

2: “Spaces lost, abandoned, cheated by history and nature have an odd, somewhat surreal charm … When things and places lose the context that gave them function or meaning, you can rediscover them. Useless, even freed in a sense, they gain a specific aura. Not only do we see them as new, but they also turn their surprised sights towards us and try to ask us a question … Sometimes an accidental glance is enough to give in to the force of that place for years. Sometimes a place lives in a person since childhood.” — Katharina Raabe, Monika Sznajderman, taken from the intro to„Znikająca Europa”, Wydawnictwo Czarne, Wołowiec, 2006.

These two contexts were the inspiration for the energy, frequency and vibration of Wolne Pokoje’s “Kostropate”.

LES – Anisotropic Collapse

LES

“Anisotropic Collapse”

LES (LunarEscapeSystem) is an Israeli electronic music duo based in Tel Aviv, formed by Elena P. and Genrietta P., an ambient/soundscape/techno project that began collaborating six years ago and ever since has had numerous live A/V performances.

The duo say they get their inspiration from the avant-garde electronic scene of western europe in the beginning of the 90s, the early electronics movement from the 60s, BBC radiophonic workshop recordings, Sci-Fi movies soundtracks. They have developed their own sonic language, inspired by the natural sound of the elements, modern urban chaos, space phenomena, and silence. Through the years, the duo grew as electronic music producers and sought to venture into new territories by collaborating with different artists, creating multidisciplinary co-operations that intend to combine art mediums. These co-operations push and expand the boundaries of the artists themselves, their listeners, and spectators. Working outside of accepted artistic paradigms, LES believes in the art’s potential as a hybrid set of actions. Both Genrietta and Elena’s core activities were initially set in the visual arts, and the sound experiences created by the project are intertwined with the visual. LES strives to suggest new potentials that are multi-sensual via the universal language of sound.

The Mahorka debut of LES, their album “Anisotropic Collapse” is an exploration of glitchy ambient techno soundscapes inspired by Stephen Hawking’s book “A Brief History of Time” and space phenomena, released as free (cc) digital download and amazingly beautiful limited digipak CD. “Anisotropic Collapse” was recorded using analogue and modular synths and an “anti-radio” instrument that captures electromagnetic fields. Enjoy the voyage!

Music and artwork by LES. Mixed by Assaf Tager, and mastered in Artefacts Studio, Berlin.

ANTERAKS – The Harbour Of Thoughts

ANTERAKS – The Harbour Of Thoughts
[mhrk282]

ANTERAKS

“The Harbour Of Thoughts”

Through the project ANTERAKS the voices of INNOCENT BUT GUILTY (France) and UBURGRUND (Romania) go beyond what the eyes cannot reach. The two speakers of visions met in the vaporous virtual realm and decided to melt their different tongues and challenge an unequal syncretism of analogue and digital equipment. Past endeavours were released at Foolish Records from Bordeaux (Serotonine, debut du voyage; Past and Beyond; Invisible Traces) upon an effort to combine dark-ambient colours and noise-meditative ruminations taking inspiration out of poetry and intimate congestions. The album “The Harbour of Thoughts” throws enigmatic sound patches of dreary and pensive recollections from written pages and sudden unconscious movements of the mind. As ANTERAKS casts its despondent contrasting lights over the tops of one’s reverie, on the other shore of imagination a wave digs the cave for your eclipse.

4T Thieves – Fame Is An Addiction

4T Thieves – Fame Is An Addiction
[mhrk280]

4T Thieves

“Fame Is An Addiction”

“Fame is an Addiction” sounds like a cassette you found while walking on the beach, half burried in the sand, case slightly warped by the heat of the sun, little pebbles and bits of seashells embedded inside, tape loose and almost melted. You rescue it, clean it up, spool it in, and when you play it you discover that the noise of the sea waves somehow got imprinted onto it and melded with the music.

Every tune is deep within its own comfortable bed of noise, each sound treading through thick viscous aural quicksand, beats pop in from behind lush canopies of strings and pads, flocks of melodies swirl above, clouds of frequencies cast their shadows on top of everything else and the place becomes that bit cooler. Every tune does paint a scenery indeed, each is really alike a place you inhabit for a few minutes. They all feel tangible and expansive, they welcome roaming and exploration, so much is happening there, so much to see/hear/feel, so much to discover each time you return.

It all sounds old and fresh, damaged yet fully contained, at the verge of collapse yet tightly controlled. There is certainly a story being told in this music, but it’s a different story for each different listener. It’s the kind of music that burrows in and pulls out of you as much as it brings and it’s that mix of the internal and the external, right here and right now, that makes it an entirely personal experience.

Tomoroh Hidari – The Reinterpretation Of Dreams (小さな夢達 Remixed)

Tomoroh Hidari – The Reinterpretation Of Dreams (小さな夢達 Remixed)
[mhrk278]

Tomoroh Hidari

“The Reinterpretation Of Dreams (小さな夢達 Remixed)”

“Do dreams have a past or a future? Are they forever intrinsically linked with our consciousness? What happens if we share them? Do they take hold in our larger narratives and become stories in their own right?

Last year I released an album named 小さな夢達 (which reads as Chiisana Yumetachi) – Small Dreams. Today, just days after the first anniversary of its release I find myself listening to 10 remixes of those dreams. The Reinterpretation of Dreams, if you will. It is thanks to Ivo Petrov, label head of Mahorka, who envisioned this album as a great way to celebrate netlabel day 2021. He invited an amazing group of artists to contribute their remixes and share their own reinterpretations.

There isn’t a single track on there that isn’t amazing – I find that on repeated listening different tracks stand out each time, sometimes the softer ones speak more to me, sometimes the weirder ones, then again, on another listen, it’s the more energetic ones. But every time it sounds like a coherent whole. A world appears, held together by the threads woven into the fabric of the original tracks, but expanded into a multi-faceted sonic cosmos, a wider world for the original narrow story to expand into. And after the final remix, you’re invited to wake up again to the meditative meta-verse of the Small Dreams: Where all the remixes expand on the original theme, my contribution – an afterthought of sorts – is there to take you into a meditative state build around the ambiances and field-recordings that lie at the core of 小さな夢達.

My gratitude to all the artists who were kind enough to put in their work and creativity to contribute these remixes! To Ivo for making it all happen, to Zach Bridier for mastering and to dfkt for creating the cover.” –Tomoroh Hidari, London 09.07.2021

‘Sleep Studies’ was a creative process spanning over 100 days from August 13th to November 21st, 2020. Inspired by themes like sleep, dreams and nightmares, one track per day was produced and uploaded to YouTube with an accompanying video.

“Working on this project we strived to find our way back to a means of production based on spontaneity and also allowed us to distance ourselves from the final product by removing afterthought and overproduction anxiety.”

‘Selected Sleep Studies’ is a collection of 11 tracks, which represent a morsel of the 10 hours of music that is ‘Sleep Studies’. A long rest awaits.

Kanz – Remind Me Tomorrow

Kanz – Remind Me Tomorrow
[mhrk272]

Kanz

“Remind Me Tomorrow”

Kanz (real name Kaloyan Gavrilov) is a techno and experimental electronic music act hailing straight from Lyulin, Sofia, Bulgaria. He has notable releases and appearances on labels such as KOMPONENTI, Audio Avantgarde, WTF is SWAG and Vivus Records. He is also known for his collaboration work with Cyberian (on Amek and WTF is SWAG) as well as being a part of the now cult duo 80s Clash (with Dickie Slavkov) and the very promising project Lesnik (with SuB).

“Remind Me Tomorrow” is not one’s usual album and the tracks on it are not one’s usual album tracks. The release formed and (Kaloyan insists) should be viewed as a collection of always in progress works, created to be used as tools for Kanz live performances. Yet, some of these “tools” are already hit tracks, starting with the Kanz debut on Mahorka on the compilation album “Eastern Depths Vol.3” – the breath-taking track “Mindless” in 2016. “Restless” followed on “Music for elevators vol.5” in 2017 and in 2020 “Conditions” came out on the epic “Eastern Depths IV”. Yet, “Remind Me Tomorrow” works fantasticly good as an album.

Released May 30, 2021

All music by: Kaloyan Gavrilov, except: Track 12 – remix by Dimitar Vassilev

Track 1 – appearing on VA – “Music for elevators vol.5”, Mahorka, 2017 Track 7 – appearing on VA – “Eastern Depths Vol.3”, Mahorka, 2017 Track 11 – appearing on VA – “Eastern Depths IV”, Mahorka, 2020
