about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Sampling, ‘micromontage’, and subsequently identifying pitch from objects, which will then be used through virtual instruments. This is how you introduce yourself to the Wild Breath world. Being the result of the process of deconstruction of the compositional act from the visual conceptualization. Which, attempts to communicate the existing language in a solo instrument (the clarinet) designed from an improvised approach. And that explores and cultivates the relationship between the performer and the drawing. In a very particular sound conception.

High Step Society – Perception

High Step Society – Perception

High Step Society

“Perception”

In the midst of overblown computer noises and a rainbow LED sea, the man felt beckoned by a soft, distant light. Upon entering the fantastical shanty village known as The Folly, he and his tribe happened upon an debaucherous, balcony-shaking dance party, thumping to a sound that fit just as readily into a gilded vintage ballroom as a digital desert playground. In that moment, Music, Love, Art, and the Present Moment were the only things that mattered; this was the day Gravitas and High Step Society united.

High Step Society’s new EP Perception, out via Gravitas Recordings, boldly combines the driving beats and bass drops of modern electronica with the hallowed tones of jazz. Through exploring this fusion, the result is an EP that is unstoppably danceable and overflowing with creativity. High Step Society evokes subtle nostalgia for another era, while authentically translating timelessness into a form of contemporary grit. A work spawned from a diverse group of creatives – trained jazz musicians, dark folkies, seasoned funk/rock players, and bass music aficionados – Perception represents a melting pot of collaboration and blending of styles.

Revisit the past with “Side Step,” where a luscious sonic soundscape is concocted from perennial jazz and dreamy, euphonious ingredients. After communing with the past, “Back to the Roots” extends an energetic groove that leaves all worries behind. Title track “Perception” is a dynamic, alluring killer that dances along the concepts of perception, attraction, and infatuation. Woefully rolling through the night on “No. 9,” imaginative instrumentation drives you back into your darkest hour. Transfiguring into a ghostly escapade, “Howlin” is an unearthly companion that escorts you to the brink of the multicolored musical cauldron.

“Riverside of Uji”

Late-night mystery abounds in this enchanting new single from Brevyn.

Words from the artist:

My current projects are under various delays, so here’s something from my backlog (January 2018). I was inspired by the look of city windows late at night and early Mount Kimbie.

co-dec & Android

“Internado”

Patricio González (co-dec) & Cristián Reyes (Android) are restless producers within the electronic culture in Santiago de Chile, each of them with an interesting portfolio of projects to his credit. González is the current director of prolific Orion Network label and former member of historic bands such as Vigilante. Reyes is an active composer and remixer whose tracks give live to the dancefloor in many clubs. Both come together in the live techno music group “Dentro del Mismo Individuo”.

Within their different styles, both have a common path of musical influences, that include from electro pop, new wave, dark to industrial techno and minimalism. Together they present this time an unreleased album based in the unique experience that “live” gives to recordings sessions, which unlike the work on studio, allows them to give free rein to the improvised exercise of building soundscapes with analogue electronic machines, samplers and drum machines.

The essence of this work, mainly guided by techno and electro beats, is a remix that both musicians have built in a single moment in live format, using as base and initial spark the individual stems from the track “Miniature” by C/VVV (Mika Martini, Pablo Flores and Francisco Pinto), electronic trio based in Santiago as well. The perfect excuse to start a journey of almost 45 minutes, which can be enjoyed both rhythmically and through the rich textures, melodies and modulations of synthesisers. Also, because the different scenes and emotions generated from this unique live creation, this release is a suggestive trip.

The recording of this concert was on July 28th, 2018, in the basement of “El Internado” venue, on the occasion of the celebration of the 13th Anniversary of Pueblo Nuevo netlabel.

Turn off lights, seek stimulation and make room to move freely with this album.

Louis Lingg & The Bombs – NXL136 Live At L’AJB

Louis Lingg & The Bombs – NXL136 Live At L'AJB

Louis Lingg & The Bombs

“NXL136 Live At L’AJB”

This is a live performance recorded on 25th november, 2017 at l’AJB Centre culturel Marcel Pagnol in a small french town called Bures Sur Yvette. We played with Pogo Car Crash Control (who are a big band here in France who play festivals like Hellfest and stuff like that) and Toybloid (who are another big band here in France that play big concerts with big bands and stuff.) So it was a pretty exciting event for everyone!

The songs are presented in the order we played them warts and all!

Even after playing over 250 concerts, we’re still not 100% used to big stages, stage monitors and bright lights so it was a bit of an experience for us. The audience was great and people were really enthusiastic. All in all it was a great experience.

Bures sur Yvette is a tiny french town but a suprisingly large amount of cool bands that have rocked the french underground come from there. That’s why the french punk band, Les Dead Boobs, named the town, “The Capital of Punk!”

I recently found the USB key with the concert on and told myself “hey, dude! You gotta mix that shit and put it out!” So I did.

Come see us play in a small bar. That’s the best venue for rock! Big halls are too damn weird! But this album is a cool part of our history! Enjoy!
