about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Alexei Borisov, Olga Nosova, Eren Ileri, Aras L. Seyhan – Art Der Anwendung

[TOP79]

Alexei Borisov, Olga Nosova, Eren Ileri, Aras L. Seyhan

“Art Der Anwendung”

Alexei Borisov and Olga Nosova, members of undisputedly powerful and amazing duo ASTMA, collaborated with Aras Seyhan and Eren Ileri, musicians and artists who currently reside in Austria. The result of their joint musical effort is here – soothing, enchanting sound collection, combining blossoming and tangled melodies, shattering noises and snatches of unspoken, inconceivable stories and words to eject you out of familiar and preserved sonic environment and urging you to explore what’s out there, beyond the realm of convenient sounds and melodies. A diverse and versatile sonic assembly, Art Der Anwendung guides you through very different settings and moods, from wild and brutal noisy electronics to abstract ambient, blissful wall-of-sound extravaganza and rhythmically repressed proto-techno. For those who seek diversity and true liberation in music!

Art Sonic – Roadside Sketches

[029]

Art Sonic

“Roadside Sketches”

A 3-week long road trip to the American Southwest (Toronto, Canada to Colorado, Utah and New Mexico USA). Good thing I managed to take my old beat-up acoustic guitar – even though there was little spaced for it in our tightly packed truck. Big prairie skies, Rocky Mountain panoramas, desert vistas, ghost towns and ancient Anasazi ruins, all inspired me to pick up the guitar and attempt to translate sights into notes. Little ‘roadside sketches’… My trusty little field recorder allowed me to actually capture some of the nature sounds which later, back home in my studio, got incorporated into some of the tracks. Hopefully these short musical pieces will evoke the feelings and re-create the sights I had in front of me.

Sergi Boal – Nylon & Turtle

[027]

Sergi Boal

“Nylon & Turtle”

“My ear were literally staggered as soon as the first notes of this disk” La Grosse Radio Rock

“An album you can taste listening after listening” NetMusic Life

“An interesting and pleasing album” iThink magazine

Nylon and Turtle was recorded after that, while he was watching jazz pianist Brad Mehldau, Sergi boal, guitarist and composer, had a revelation: the necessity to create his own music. This necessity led him few months later to record this CD. There are 9 songs, most of them recorded in one or two takes, so it’s almost a live recording. It is an organic and intimate album, in which the guitarist tries to make a little travel. As in Ice Voice, where it can be appreciated the Nordic influences of Jose Gonzalez, or Yorke, where we can hear echoes of Radiohead. Fukushima is a tribute to the victims of the tsunami in Japan, in where it mixes anger and calm; The incident of the Bell features great tecnique and sounds with a mixture of pop and grunge music, all with the same nylon guitar. In Frontera, the flamenco sounds in his fingers, and take us to Orecchio di Dioniso, and then we get carried away through the last song of the album, “Is anybody out there?”, a composition that borrows the title from Pink Floyd, ending with a question. This album is the starting point of this guitarrist of Barcelona, who decided one day to make his own music with the guitar. Sit back and listen … is anybody out there?

Ralph Prollé – Gradient EP

[TKBNET35]

Ralph Prollé

“Gradient EP”

Mumbai, Bucharest, Bremen – former Head of De:Bug mag Ralph Prollé turned his back to the usual Hotspots and travelled off the grid scenes. He sold his Technics and VInyls, getting rid of some dead weight, clearing space for new sounds and ideas. Why the outcome sounds oldschool now, without any artificial retro flavor – just because it never stopped to sound great.

Ralph is seeking weird input in many places, beating out what he finds into Live Sets that knock over attitudes as happily as a NY Stonewall Disco Riot.

Tom Phonic – Good Luck Knowing

[mfm13]

Tom Phonic

“Good Luck Knowing”

The futuristic, yet low-tech, metropolis is always alive. Mechanoids, automatons and robots of all sizes, shapes and colors move around constantly, sometimes crashing into each other, creating ever-evolving patterns. The city is tiny; so tiny that it can fit on the tip of a needle. Among the inhabitants there are also tiny humans, people like you and me. On sunny days, they go out to meet each other, make friends, fall in love. In the eternally changing scenery, the buzz of the city becomes their soundtrack: the whirrs of moving parts turn into leads and pads, the rhythmic sounds of switches and locks transform to complex syncopated beats and the roar of motors provides the bassline. On sunny days, the tiny people sing and dance to this soundtrack, while the entire city flows in the background.

C. Reider – One Of The Drone Boys

[LOR026]

C. Reider

“One Of The Drone Boys”

a new album by C. Reider, an electronic composer from Colorado, USA. “One of the Drone Boys” is possibly the first ever ironic drone album – recorded by Reider after he had been mistakenly classed as “one of the drone boys” – so he made a drone album. A very good drone album. Available now as a free download with a PDF file of images and notes.

Fauxhound – This Is Not A Game, Boy

[TWG002]

Fauxhound

“This Is Not A Game, Boy”

For our sophomore release New Zealand’s Fauxhound delivers an emotional mixture of spoken word musings with noise and drone influenced chiptune, which sometimes strikes out with flourishes of dub inspired grooves and shimmering summery sounds, all of which are tainted with the black paintbrush of Fauxhound’s now trademark desperate depression and pessimistic self-worth. From the circus ground twinkly melody on the outset of ‘AIRPORTAL’ to the immediately confrontational vocal interludes, ‘This Is Not A Game, Boy’ melds familiar and seemingly innocent sounds into a medley of dark and dank sadness.
With influences too far, wide and convoluted to list or name, Fauxhound’s sound is a truly unique one, inside and outside chiptune circles. Taking to the piggy tracker this time around, Fauxhound’s pallet of melodies and styles grows ever larger and tainted by his own keen sense of the macabre-sounding, and this release definitely sounds like his most definitive, defiant and expressive output to date.Tracklist:
1. Vocal Interlude 1
2. FOR
3. MATAKIRI
4. AIRPORTAL
5. COLD
6. Vocal Interlude 2
7. BRAINS ($noregazZzm remix)
8. Vocal Interlude 3
9. BOY ET AL
10. Vocal Interlude 4
11. BAGLADY
