about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Emmerichk – Sleepy HZ

Emmerichk

“Sleepy HZ”

Review: Emmerichk is a long-standing mexican producer in the electronic music scene who gives now six dub techno tracks in its purest essence. His proposal is more in the intimate side and it is characterized by micro-nosey and glitch. The quest for atmospheres that is proposed here delivers duality between oneiric and the real, lifting us up to a spacial drift trip and great contemplation.
An album to enjoy in its entirety with very interesting textures and deep inwardness.

Dub Cmd & SistaSara – Deeper Understanding

Dub Cmd & SistaSara – Deeper Understanding
[DPH040]

Dub Cmd & SistaSara

“Deeper Understanding”

This EP is a true child of Dubophonic Records. Both artists released earlier this year their own musical works on the label: SistaSara’s Space Stepper and Dub Cmd’s Moonsteppa. The admiration of each other’s music led to their first collaboration … and they are both working on some more tunes, since SistaSara will be giving a word and a voice on some tracks on Dub Cmd’s upcoming album in 2020.

“Show appreciation, let it glow
Daily introspection, let it flow

Light for every nation you will see
Consciousness expanding
Deeper understanding

Let everyone know life is worth so much more
And the blessings can reveal that for sure
May everyone know life is worth so much more
And the blessings can reveal that for sure

Eventually light will shine on again
Humankind rebirth / Soul-search on earth
Let everyone know life is worth so much more
And the blessings can reveal that for sure”

C/VVV – Gracias por nada

C/VVV – Gracias por nada
[pn144]

C/VVV

“Gracias por nada”

“C/VVV spaceship is approaching, shaking not the dust off: its pieces sewn in emptiness, fiber travelling centuries, living, learning, and, at the same time, generating an antigen to the Whole, offering Naught an enlivened realm. Steadily moving, back and forth, all to zero, growing a cultivated, singular spirit in the face of constant fluctuations, acquiring communicative competences thru countless, unknown phases, changes, headways. The ship keeps flowing, moving alongside alienating turbulences and foggy cataracts in the eyes of the object. The past is always there, a warm, embracing, profound obscurity; essential company and accomplice, wise advisor, willing to unleash the heavy load. Turning the trip into a fading-balanced map, erasing frontiers, receiving the unexpected, organic, ever-expanding-paradox, latent beat.”

Enkō and Inversus – Murmur EP

Enkō and Inversus – Murmur EP

Enkō and Inversus

“Murmur EP”

Enkō and Inversus is a mixture of two artistic talents who are actively contributing to the Lisbon music scene.

Enkō is a DJ and producer and a rising name on techno and ambient. He’s been behind the curatorial activity at OBRΔ after-hours, the sunset evenings of Ocaso, and is a solid DJ frequenting venues such as Lux, Boom Festival, Gare, Orbits, Festival Forte, etc.

Inversus is a musician, trained painter, and professional studio owner. He relentlessly explores the possibilities of visual and sound arts. The impact of his 2017 release, “Sobrena” (ZigurArtists label) is still echoing while his live performances continue to resonate.

“Murmur” arose from the intersection of these two producers’ exploration of semi-literal rhythms and atmospheres. The result fits very comfortably into the Arctic Dub (Sursumcorda) evolving aesthetic, with remixes by label partners Gabi von Dub (Augen) and Dave Wesley… and signature graphic design by Andre Macedo.

Ayato & Naoki Ishida

“Momenta”

Ayato & Naoki Ishida have been working together by file exchange since the early 2010s. On Momenta they explore a more melodic and accessible style than on their previous releases on eg0cide( “Red_control rec.played” which focused on field recordings and the split album “Tapes Outtakes” based on tapes manipulations). This time they ofter 14 instrumental tracks blending elements of post-rock, dub, and ambient, using many different instruments and field recordings. The compositions are smooth and catchy, but never simplistic – they deserve many listenings that will let you discover their depth and subtelties.

Lamont Kohner – Beckons

Lamont Kohner – Beckons

Lamont Kohner

“Beckons”

It’s finally Summertime, but press play, close your eyes and you’d never be able to tell. Lamont Kohner’s third single for RP lands with a roomy bass pulse and a dusty loop that slowly splits open to reveal white noise-crusted dub chords and a thumping traincar rhythm. BECKONS does what it says on the tin, with minimal side effects, drawing us into the seedy nightlife of Kohner’s noir cityscapes and neon vapors. Following the irresistible groove of BECKONS is CLOSE IT, a slightly more traditional dub techno affair, recalling the Detroit strains of Deepchord and Echospace while also conjuring a thick-as-a-brick rhythmic foundation that goes even further back to the first couple Maurizio 12″s in Germany. The whole thing congeals into that trademark Kohner shuffle, and we’re once again sitting back in a darkened taxi, window half open, smoke wafting out into the greasy streets. Falling beneath the music’s spell, you feel compelled to close the window – we’re doing something intimate in here.

Nostromo – Universal Consciousness

Universal Consciousness – Nostromo

Today I am writing about colleagues, an activity that has become a habit, and I am celebrating because this allows me to surrender my ears to things that perhaps I would have missed otherwise. And yes, the pleasure of listening to a piece such as Nostromo is, at some points, so pleasant and repeatable that it gives you, as a first sensation, the urge to listen to it over again. It begins with tribal electronic beats. It is well mixed in terms of difference of style; that is to say, an excellent and very organic mix. It does not lose focus; it is simple and fascinating. Out of its three tracks, in my opinion and without a doubt, the second one, Northern Lights, gets all the applause, and let us say, it is the hit of the album, even though the whole work is consistent regarding composition, choice of sound palette and mixing. This track in particular has something hypnotic; with delicacy from beginning to end and maturity in respect of the used recipe. I just love it. The last track, Universal Consciousness, that gives the name to the album, is undeniably the most danceable song. It is full of good moments and it is part of a very homogeneous album, and at the same time it flows through different paths in each of the three songs. Maybe this last reason is the cause for listening to it many times. It is difficult to keep a clear identity when forms are shifted inside of the very same album, but Nostromo has succeeded. Each one of its tracks, with each one of their individualities, are worked flawlessly, dynamically and warmly. For me, Nostromo provides many reasons for exploring it and for exploring the catalog of Modismo, the Chilean record label where the album has been edited and released; an aside for the label that has been working since a long time ago, releasing several interesting works. It is a real sin not to pass through.

Roots Masashi – Namah Shivaya

Roots Masashi – Namah Shivaya
[DPH039]

Roots Masashi

“Namah Shivaya”

Roots Masashi is a Roots Rock / New Roots composer from Osaka, Japan. He drew his inspiration from friends in high school and fell in love with conscious reggae music. He was fascinated by Osaka’s dub scene, especially after meeting the “Dub I Roots crew” and “Rebel Culture” in 2012 and soon after, he started building “Roots Far I”, his OWN Sound System and Digital Live project, based in Kishiwada of South Osaka. His devotion to Roots Rock Reggae, New Roots and Dub guided him all around Japan, touring with the soundsystem and urging him to reach new musical heights

His first release on Dubophonic Records is a musical and holy salutation to the Auspicious one, an adoration to the Most High. Based on one of the most important Mantras in the Shaivism tradition, Namah Shivaya is associated with qualities of prayer, divine-love, grace, truth, and blissfulness. It calms the mind and brings spiritual insight and knowledge. Traditionally, it is accepted to be a powerful healing mantra beneficial for all physical and mental ailments. “Na” sound represents the earth, “Mah” sound represents the water, “Shi” sound represents the fire, “Va” sound represents the air and “Ya” sound represents thesky. Its total meaning is that “universal consciousness is one”. The recitation of these syllables is sound therapy for the body and nectar for the inner self and the soul.

303 – Baltdub
[JAM007]

303

“Baltdub”

Selected cuts of the 303 jams in the dub style direction.
It’s like when we are far away “flying” in experiments, into rhythmic noise, in the process of jam, but there is a daredevil who declares: “Let’s play dub!”.It’s like something about dub and techno, somwhere close to noise with broken rhythm. It’s like something with bass and chords and melody, it is mostly rhythmic, stumbles somewhere, sticks somewhere, it is electronic and connected to the “network” …

Attention! illocanblo (11,12,13) and Potential DifferenSe (14) participated in several jams. Thank you.

Good Over Evil Productions – Keep The Fire Burning

Good Over Evil Productions – Keep The Fire Burning
[DPH038]

Good Over Evil Productions

“Keep The Fire Burning”

Good Over Evil Productions is a roots reggae project founded in Spain by the producers Jah Ivan and Dani Roots, the singer Sista Livity and Furi the manager. They come with a clear mission: to spread the Rastafari message by means of their music and their positive vibrations. Strictly Roots and Culture. Word, Sound and Power. Jah music to the people.

They have been releasing their work in different formats since 2008 on their own label (CD, Vinyl, Digital releases, etc.) alongside artists like Sista Livity, Anayah Roots Levi, Robel The Earthiopian (Reuben Addis), Ras Elijah Tafari, Raszor Brankata, Pato Ranking, Sista Moni and more.

It is a blessing that their new tune Keep the Fire Burning is being released on our label. You can feel the Good Over Evil’s essence in a pure dub style. It is a militant tune, with a mystic atmosphere and remembrance of the mighty ancients sounds worldwide, that inspires a spiritual meditation for a deep connection with our inner self and with the most high God, almighty, creator of all life, Jah Rastafari. God live on the hearts of all flesh. Good Over Evil! Life Over Death!

The Dubbstyle – Sun Is Dub

The Dubbstyle – Sun Is Dub
[DPH036]

The Dubbstyle

“Sun Is Dub”

The Argentinean dub monkeys are back! After being included in the compilation Explorations In Dub (2013), their guest appearance on the Red Star Martyr’s album Time for Tea (2014) and the release of their own album Simona (2015), the brothers Mauro and Federico Salina from Mentoza (ARG) are back with more vibrations.

Their new album is entitled Sun Is Dub and includes eight musical dub-works. Compared to their previous works, their 2019 sound is much more mature, which is normal for every artist who respect his work and strives to evolve.

Starting with Navidub and following with Combination (with a vocal sample of the classic Indian singer Shruti Katkar) the album is a journey into the dub sounds and the cultures of the world. Sometimes melodic and organic, other times rhythmical and heavyweight, the dub is to be heard in all eight tunes of the album. The last track Simona, is a reference to their previous album, newly re-done ft. Unidub Estereo.

Brother Blue – Shoreline Drive

Brother Blue – Shoreline Drive
[BC75]

Brother Blue

“Shoreline Drive”

Following his Automatic Writing single, issued on the Autumn Equinox in late 2018, Brother Blue opens 2019 with Shoreline Drive, a 5-track EP of dub techno cuts and RP’s first release of the new year. It is also fitting that it should come out today, during the Super Blood Wolf Moon, a rare celestial event that echoes some of the themes on these tracks.

Musically, Shoreline Drive brings more excellent electronics on the deeper side of the spectrum to play with the rest of the Bedroom Compost catalog. Tim’s work is never less than superb and intimately engaging, and these five tracks are equal parts rugged techno rhythms, sultry dub chords and textured atmospheres that displace the listener. Shoreline Drive recalls not only Detroit classics like Echospace and Deepchord, but also many other deep moments in the Recycled Plastics library, from Ohrwert, Mon0, Axs, Zzzzra, Coppice Halifax and Textural Being, among others…In short, we are beyond happy to have Tim once again here with us, and Shoreline Drive feels both new and home-worn familiar, in all the best ways.

NOTE: The physical edition of Shoreline Drive also contains two additional tracks: “Automatic Writing (Version)” from BC72 and a 2018 remaster of “Summoning UFOs”, which previously only appeared on a compilation at the luxurious Silent Season label. With these two extras, Shoreline Drive becomes a 67-minute long dub trip, not to be missed!
