about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Rani Jambak – VIBRA GENETIKA

[YESNO 114]

Rani Jambak

“VIBRA GENETIKA”

VIBRA GENETIKA is a holistic journey that delves into the interconnected dimensions of life. Since 2013, Rani Jambak has embarked on a path to explore the meaning of her cultural identity as a Minangkabau descendant born and raised in Medan. Through this process, she began piecing together fragments of family history, the complexities of her cultural heritage, and the diversity of her surroundings. This journey has not only allowed Rani to understand her connection to tradition and her ancestral land but also to explore the concept of Rantau (migration) as a vital part of the enduring Minangkabau narrative.

As her journey continues, the transformation of a woman’s life into that of a wife and mother has led Rani to discover new dimensions in understanding herself—a transformation of femininity that transcends physical boundaries, aiming toward harmony between body and soul. Each step along this journey forms a crucial element in shaping her worldview, fostering a profound awareness of the interconnectedness between ancestors, nature, and time. This awareness gives rise to reverence for the past, gratitude for the present, and a vision to perceive “future ancestors” as part of an eternal chain of energy.

VIBRA GENETIKA transcends the search for identity. It is a vibration that goes beyond the energy of genetic inheritance—a resonance that lives within the threads of thoughts, emotions, and the universe. It is a manifestation to dive into oneself and to understand ancestral heritage as energy that continues to echo. It carries the legacy of the past to be interpreted into the future. VIBRA GENETIKA is a holistic expression of spiritual journey and the manifestation of life’s resonance itself.

Rani Jambak, a distinguished composer, producer, field recordist, instrument designer, and vocalist of Minangkabau descent from Medan, actively engages in the exploration of electronic music and soundscapes derived from diverse locations across Indonesia. Her body of work frequently addresses themes related to nature, socio-cultural dynamics, and the interrelationship between humans and their ancestral heritage. In recognition of her innovative contributions to sound, music, and technology, Jambak was honored with The Oram Awards in 2022.

Bohdan Stupak – Microvariations

Bohdan Stupak

“Microvariations”

Dark, icy blues and purples dominate the sonic landscape, punctuated by bursts of neon green and pink. Smooth, clean synths evoke the vastness of space, while a steady, pulsing simulates the rhythmic hum of celestial machinery. Faint, whispered textures evoke the mysteries of time, and distant, ethereal choirs whisper secrets of the cosmos. A perfect combination of electronic and electric acoustic.

sevensy – one2one

[mhrk434]

sevensy

“one2one”

released March 16, 2025

sevensy (aka Austin Brooks) creates music that directly facilitates imaginal sojourns, wherein the message is the sound itself. sevensy mixes electronic and natural sounds with processed guitars and acoustic instruments. His musical themes ‘unfold into an unusual landscape’ so that it is often impossible to tell where one ends and another begins. sevensy has released his music with Mahorka from the time of the label’s inception and was featured on the first “Music for Elevators” VA compilation in 2004. His debut full-length “Beacon” was released on the label in 2007.

“one2one” is his new, fifth, solo album on Mahorka, following the “Reckoning (Creation)” masterpiece from 2023. This release represents a change of direction in sevensy’s music. Subtle guitar melodies are once again interwoven with harmonic resonances, but this new work features more unitive orchestration in a denser than ever soundbath that leads the listener into a peaceful and introspective quietude.

“We are one, yet simultaneously we are individuated. “one2one” is a series of contemplative pieces that explore thoughts and feelings of oneness and duality, which comprise the paradoxical nature of being human.”

DJ Scotch Egg – SCOTCH SAMBAL

[YESNO 113]

DJ Scotch Egg

“SCOTCH SAMBAL”

DJ Scotch Egg’s SCOTCH SAMBAL marks an exciting milestone—celebrating 20 years of his boundary-pushing electronic music career. Known for his pioneering work in chiptune and gabba, Scotch Egg captivated listeners in the early 2000s with his high-energy 8-bit sound, often creating brutal, fast-paced music with a Nintendo Game Boy. Over time, however, his sonic palette expanded far beyond chiptune, shifting towards experimental sounds rooted in hip-hop, trap, dancehall, and African-inspired rhythms. Ishihara’s work over the last 5 years has been characterized by insatiable cultural, musical and artistic exchanges with artists across Southeast Asia and Africa.
Now based in Berlin, Scotch Egg’s evolution is also reflected in his collaborations and various aliases, notably as part of the duo WaqWaq Kingdom, blending traditional Japanese music with cutting-edge electronics, and Scotch Rolex.
His work has been released on labels such as Wrong Music, Load Records, Nyege Nyege Tapes and SVBKVLT.

In 2023, Scotch Egg’s collaborator Mo’ong Santoso Pribadi (Raja Kirik, Takkak Takkak) introduced him to the creative haven of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, setting him up with a residency. What followed was an explosive fusion of cultural exchanges, facilitated by Wok the Rock of Yes No Wave Music. Surrounded by local musicians, Mr Egg dove into genres like Dangdut, Funkot and Koplo, and the gamelan that floats in the air of every street. Uncovering these fresh influences infused his signature 8-bit intensity with the sun-soaked psychedelia of Southeast Asia. He collaborated with local artists such as TerbujurKaku and BHKT. Indonesian icon Y-DRA (Raja Kirik) and his partner Asa guided him through the vibrant world of Indonesian TikTok trends, the music of Sumatera, and even sent him on wild, unforgettable trips to witness traditional Jathilan performances in remote villages. All of this brought new energy to his music.

While SCOTCH SAMBAL wasn’t initially intended as an album, the vibrant, unrestrained atmosphere of Yogyakarta helped create something special: a playfully eccentric fusion of high-energy gabber and tropical, upbeat psychedelia. The result is an addictive, multi-layered sound that’s more than just a musical experience—it’s a joyful celebration of cultural fusion, capturing the spirit of the tropical paradise that inspired it.

Now, with SCOTCH SAMBAL, DJ Scotch Egg brings the heat—literally and metaphorically—delivering an electrifying mix with that extra spice you didn’t know you needed.

TaUYu DeShiI – MY MEMORY

[MI331]

TaUYu DeShiI

“MY MEMORY”

Japanese electronic and improvisational artist TaUYu DeShiI crafts an atmospheric soundscape inspired by a journey through Okinawa’s remote islands.

“MY MEMORY” was created mid-trip, the album blends ambient electronica with fluid improvisation, evoking a sense of movement and discovery.

Soft synth textures and organic sound elements mirror the islands’ mystique, capturing fleeting moments of travel. The music radiates exoticism, not as a concept but as a lived experience.

Fans of ambient and minimal electronic music will find this release immersive—an invitation to drift through sound, just as the artist drifted through the islands.

1 Of Pomp And Pulpit
2 I Was Saved By God To Make America Great Again

Process:

Goff produced the recordings presented in this collection from unrehearsed improvisations recorded on January 20, 2025, during the second inauguration of American President Donald John Trump. Using a variety of sound technologies and musical instruments, Goff augmented and embellished the audio feed from Pacifica Radio (KPFA, Berkeley, California) live, as it was being broadcasted. No recorded materials were added nor deleted from the pieces presented here.

“Of Pomp And Pulpit” was captured and mixed on a 4 Track cassette tape. It features political speeches from senators Amy Klobuchar and Deb Fischer, invocations of deities from Timothy Dolan and Franklin Graham, and the swearing of Trump and Vice President James David (JD) Vance by Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and John Roberts.

“I Was Saved By God To Make America Great Again” was recorded and mixed on computer software. Donald Trump is the exclusive speaker in this piece, sprinkled with occasional commentary from the Pacifica broadcasters who covered the event.

Pablo Flores (Aysen) – Sandia

[pn241]

Pablo Flores (Aysen)

“Sandia”

The creation process of “Sandía”, my new album, began to take root shortly after the Social Outburst in Chile, a moment that marked a profound turning point in our society. Then came the Covid-19 pandemic, which altered everyone’s lives on a global scale, and finally, during the last months of composition, the painful reality of the Palestinian genocide was added to the long list of horrors we have witnessed in recent times. The echoes of that violence continue to reach us, and what began as a personal project has inevitably taken on a much deeper dimension.

Throughout this process, I always had a phrase by David Bowie in mind, which accompanied me while working on the music:

“I think most artists feel a lot happier discussing the process of what they do, rather than what the hell it means. I know so many painters who title their works after they’ve done them, which is a real giveaway.”

Bowie’s words resonate deeply with the creation of “Sandía”. In my case, the music emerged from an abstract process, driven by emotions, aiming to transform experience into sound rather than concept. It was a journey of discovery, not so much about knowing what I wanted to say, but about how I wanted to feel it. The titles, as Bowie suggests, came at the end. They were chosen not as a direct interpretation of the work but as a reflection of the emotions contained within the songs, and perhaps as a mirror of a reality that moves me to the core.

The “Sandía” (watermelon) is a complex symbol, full of nuances. As a fruit, its sweetness represents the freshness of life, yet it also embodies the contradictions and fragility of our existence. In this case, it stands as a symbol of the Palestinian flag, of struggle, resistance, but also of hope in humanity. In a world where destruction and suffering seem to be the norm, I want to believe that, as a species, we can still keep our hearts sweet—an act of humanity in the face of horror.

At a time when technology allows us to witness suffering in real-time through our screens, music, and artistic creation, in general, becomes a refuge—a way to make sense of the indescribable. “Sandía” is not just a sonic testimony to these times but also an invitation to reflect on our capacity for change, empathy, and resistance against the irreversible.

Thus, “Sandía” is not just an album. It is a cry of humanity amidst the chaos, a call to not forget what truly matters: to care for and love one another, no matter what the world tries to impose upon us.

This work seeks, more than to explain, to feel. I don’t know exactly what it means, but I know what it makes me feel. And I hope that, upon listening, you can also find a resonance with the moment we are living in.

WDX – Turn It Off And On Again

[mhrk431]

WDX

“Turn It Off And On Again”

released February 22, 2025

WDX’s approach to music highlights ingenuity and dedication to pushing the boundaries of conventional genres. Improvising with edited field recording loops, a bassline generating synth and an array of outboard effects, shows a unique and captivating style that incorporates musique concrète, improvised industrial sounds, and percussions from everyday objects. This creates unique compositions arising from a commitment to using only found sounds and field recordings that transport the listener to new and surreal environments. This approach focuses on the creative process while experimenting with different sounds and effects to create dynamic and engaging sets.

His second album on Mahorka, “Turn It Off And On Again”, named after our favourite IT department advice, was made using sounds of his outboard equipment being, erm, turned off and on again. Lots of clicks and reverb/delay trails with the usual huge bass lines. The track names are cases that ICT have dealt/not dealt with.

No Landscape Survives – Ten Banners of Defeat

[AR_107]

No Landscape Survives

“Ten Banners of Defeat”

No Landscape Survives experiences & wanderings lie within those ten pieces, each focusing on a splinter, a shatter of the whole. Manufactured, they hold a tribute to the handmade work: layers of synths, syncopated rhythms, electronic seams trying to pour light & shadow by turns, on the fabric of that musical piece of clothing. Monochrome rather than shimmering, made for the inside rather than the outside, it is likely that this set won’t suit any being. But for those who carry their defeats like others carry victories, it shall nonetheless be a conveying call.

Spore Designers – Cultural Strains

[LCNLP204]

Spore Designers

“Cultural Strains”

The Necrophile Hummingbird Netlabel presents Cultural Strains by Spore Designers.

“Dark Synthetic Music for Human Synthesizer”

Spore Designers are : HOMO | OresteS

When everything is possible, why do we make certain choices instead of others?
Experimenting with art—like music—is one of the most inspiring and transcendental things to do, at least for me. When you open new paths, traveling through unexplored lands, you are not here to plant a flag and colonize. Instead, you are drawing maps so that younger pioneers coming after you can reach these deeper places in the unknown and, in turn, open new paths themselves. Perhaps, just as Coil amongst many others did for us.
It’s more like opening your eyes, witnessing the light of a new day awakening. This expanded field of possibilities is a kind of call to all imprisoned musicians to break free from their cages.
Spore Designers is what happens when HOMO Met OresteS, but this music didn’t pop out of nowhere… In fact, it’s as if A Symbiotic Experience, rADio eNd, and Invisible Illusion form the basis of a triangle, and we are digging a channel through its center, leaving another dimension behind.
The music from Sequencing Life and Cultural Strains comes from the same source : the very first session I did with a sequencer—a Korg SQ-1. But each exists at different stages of evolution. While working on the tracks, refining and expanding them, I truly grasped the meaning of “spore”—how they can unfold, expand, mutate, and act like an endless spring, nearly infinite. Though, more often than not, infinity is simply the limit of our perception.
I wouldn’t say it’s exactly the same with other projects, but this one feels different—especially in the way rhythm is processed. It opened so many doors. It seems HOMO found the same approach I used in OresteS to emulate rhythm—thinking beyond fixed structures, outside any predefined framework. Not a mere pattern, but something closer to a pulse—like the play of raindrops, the wind drawing with tree branches, fire biting into matter, or the earth shaking through the bones.
We have a truly open horizon, free to go anywhere we like.
Now, let’s listen and see what happens in the next evolution.

Maybe you have a slight feeling of déjà vu ?
Imagine what it’s like to live in a world where most people imitate, instead of hybridizing, or even simply creating.
