about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

[VULP-0227]

Vulpiano Records Sampler EP

“Vol. 17”

Vulpiano Records is proud to present a sprawling chronicle of the transcendent compositions released through the label during 2022, including Netlabel Day, by our generous and talented collaborators for a singular listening experience.

There is a continuous sonic motif of the sublime, and the possible impressions within contain multitudes: time and place, knowing, chaos, Gaia, the vastness of space, death, life, suffering, nirvana…In the long traditions of drone and ambient music, it is a canvas for the listener and an acoustic salve that opens channels new and subtly re-wires our senses.

Breathing out while listening, you sense the artists vaporizing and reshaping the rubble of the last few years – gifting us precious moments to do the same.

The label will likely be on hiatus for the rest of 2023 while we regroup and ascertain where to go from here.

Virtually J – Reworks

Virtually J

“Reworks”

Long time ago, in the relatively small Black Sea coastal city of Varna, Julian Kalchev a.k.a. Virtually J became a kind of local pioneer and an inspiration for a whole generation, being the first to explore ways to compose and produce electronic music programmed, edited, played on a PC. He’s been important part of the scene since then, contributing, for example, to the essential VA series “Kokaku” on Jisatsuken. We were really excited to release on Mahorka his latest album “Autocracy Mage” in February 2021.

In the vein of the never skipped tradition of preparing and releasing a really special collaborative Mahorka album for Netlabel Day each year (e.g. Fire to the Stars, Captive Portal, krāllār, Teeth of Divine, Tomoroh Hidari, Electrohollyc & MO. reworks albums, the “Music for Elevators vol. 5” VA compilation and a 4T Thieves remixes album), we are more than happy to announce 2023’s release “Virtually J – Reworks”, including new versions of tracks off “Autocracy Mage” (from Toxic Derwish, LR Friberg, Hypnos, Captive Portal, SpaceCherry, 4T Thieves, Asshole Galaxy (Abdicant and Weldroid), Brainquake, Obhod, Fluffy Inside (a.k.a. Pandacetamol), Mas&Delayer, and Julian Kalchev himself in the Autocracy Mage Remix of “Nazka”) and one unreleased original track and an un released Autonomaton remix.

One Tru Odd

“Hits For The Misplaced”

One Tru Odd has been around longer than intended or expected, mostly helping other people’s talents shine – as much as the people in question would let him. He has been, and probably will continue being, in more other artists’ bands than reasonable and has done more unprofitable music for theatre than is considered decent. When time allows for it, One Tru Odd releases music under the aliases V.K., Bissquit, and Bassquit, none of which are real human names. “Hits for the Misplaced” is his second outing as One Tru Odd after 2021’s “This E.P”. As per his music, his opinion of humanity is fairly favourable.

4T Thieves

“The Shipping Forecast”

Nik (4T Thieves) has been putting out beautiful electronic music since the early demoscene days. He also, quite notably, has been the manager of Kahvi Collective since 2001, which has gone from strength to strength and definitely arrived at ‘cult’ status in the scene. In 2015 we had his Mahorka debut releases – “Mahorka netlabel day mashup” and “Glass EP”. Since then we’ve had 10 attributed to 4T Thieves releases, one of which on digipak CD – the already classic “Hauntology” from 2019.

In 2023 we are more than happy to be releasing his second digipak CD on Mahorka – “The Shipping forecast”, a stellar new album and also special collaborative project, which features, besides 9 new beautiful 4T Thieves original tracks, remixes of some of them from Room of Wires, Abdicant, Pandacetamol, Weldroid and Tim Koch.

Released July 8, 2023 as free (cc) digital download and special limited edition digipak CD.

Cyanea – Strepto Sonaris

Cyanea
[MNF045]

Cyanea

“Strepto Sonaris”

Ranging between hardware machines and analog sound and inspired by the latin american nature, Cyanea is a new project from the Colombian and Venezuelan artists, Dsum and Mata. Both devotees to the dub-atmospheric and deep electronic music teamed up to create “Strepto Sonaris,” their debut EP soon to be available on Monofónicos Netlabel.

Formed in 2022, Cyanea found its creative unity while based in Orlando, Florida. Both artists brought their experiences and cultural backgrounds to the project, resulting in a sonic adventure paying tribute to the steemed atmosphere in the Andean mountains.

The EP features three tracks recorded in collaboration, showcasing their ability to craft substantial compositions pushing boundaries and challenging conventional notions of electronic music. The first two cuts, “Strepto Sonaris” and “Compas,” capture the essence of Cyanea’s sound, with ethereal melodies and compelling grooves driving listeners straight into a mental numb. On the third track, “Auriceps,” they leave the Detroit-inspired slot covered by a well-constructed arrangement that shines with its delightful synth design.

On the other side, Dsum’s solo contribution to this release share perspective with the Swedish producer Samuel L Session. Known for his legendary and driving Techno sound, Samuel L brings his interpretation of “Temptation,” adding a new dimension to the EP and expanding its sonic palette.

Cyanea’s “Strepto Sonaris” releases July 21st via Monofonicos Netlabel.

[mhrk356]

Roberto Vodanović Čopor

“Lost Weekend”

“Lost weekend” is the latest project of Croatian artist Roberto Vodanović Čopor, that uses field recordings of local people’s speech, underwater hydrophone recordings and contact microphone recordings to explore the diversity of sounds and the identity of the island of Vis.

Through experimentation with the collected audio elements, the artist has created a sound map of the island, showing its uniqueness and encourages listeners to get a deeper understanding of this special place through this work.

Undersea hydrophone recordings bring the sounds of the deep and the life in the waters around Vis. Through the sounds of marine organisms, air bubbles, noise currents and other sound phenomena, listeners get an insight into the diversity of the undersea. Contact microphone recordings of vibrations and sounds transmitted through the metal surfaces of the ferry connecting the island and the mainland were can also be heard – engine sounds, passenger footsteps and other characteristic sounds.

Released July 4, 2023

All field recordings, contact microphone and hydrophone recordings, as well as recordings of various objects/sources were done by Roberto Vodanović Čopor.
