about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“jude EP”

Japanese project ish10 yow1r0 presents Jude EP, a three-track release that draws listeners into a world of shadowed tones and quiet intensity. Known for cultivating a melancholic atmosphere reminiscent of film noir soundtracks, the project delivers music that is both haunting and cinematic.

This EP carries a distinct cinematic quality, with each piece unfolding like a scene from an untold story. Subtle layers of mood and texture create an immersive experience, where silence and sound blur into moments of solitude and reflection.

With Jude EP, ish10 yow1r0 continues to shape music that resonates deeply—evocative, atmospheric, and cinematic in scope.

The original invitation for this project:

“Choose an acoustic instrument (preferably a traditional one of your region or one that is used in your area’s traditional music) that you have not learned to play. The more alien it is to you the better. You are not allowed to play any instrument you feel comfortable with.
Make a piece for it that does not use any electronics. It must be exclusively acoustic (it must be possible to play it in a place where there is no electricity).
You can use a computer to record the piece and even for multitrack recording (the piece could still be performed without electricity if there were enough musicians).
Just remember the two main guidelines: “Make it as hard for yourself as possible and try all the things you usually avoid” and “the piece must be performable without electricity”.

Tracklist:

Daniela Fischer – komposition für kaputtes piccolocello mit nur 2 darmsaiten und volleyballtraining in madrid

“Unsound Sounds of Porto vol. 1”

Unsound Sounds of Porto is a compilation dedicated to experimental music produced in the city of Porto, bringing together artists working in the realms of noise, improvisation, minimalism, and other non-conventional sonic practices. Rather than offering a unified or institutional vision, this collection seeks to open a window onto an underground scene that remains active and constantly shifting, often existing at the margins of established circuits.

It encompasses a wide range of practices — from structured compositions and studio pieces to digital collages, analog and hybrid experimentation, as well as recordings captured in real time. This plurality results in a palette where lo-fi recordings coexist with more refined productions, exploring both the raw materiality of sound and the possibilities of digital manipulation.

As a document, Unsound Sounds of Porto registers a community in transformation; as a listening experience, it proposes a fragmented yet coherent and narrative journey through the many forms of sonic inventiveness inhabiting the city’s interstices.

José Miguel Candela – Afectos del Desastre

José Miguel Candela

“Afectos del Desastre”

“Afectos del Desastre” (Affects of Disaster) was an immersive performance installation created in 2023 by DESARTES, the Arts and Disasters Unit of CIGIDEN (Research Center for Integrated Disaster Risk Management, Chile). Its objective was to delve into the emotional dimension of the human experience in the face of socio-environmental disasters related to economic practices. The installation combined live performance with new media elements to convey the experiences of three disasters that occurred in Chile, based on social research conducted by CIGIDEN: the fires in Santa Olga (consequence of the practices of the timber industry), the pollution in Puchuncaví, and the drought in Quillagua (both consequences of the mining industry’s practices). Each event was explored through a specific tunnel within the installation, offering a unique perspective on the performance. A quadraphonic acousmatic composition related to the addressed case was presented in each tunnel (which interacted with the performance), along with texts of testimonies from those who experienced these disasters firsthand. The music’s structure included a random distribution of some materials, allowing different versions to emerge each time. This album is, therefore, one of the many possible versions of the work.

From outside the installation, one could hear the three quadraphonic environments interweaving into a 12-channel sonic whole, an experience I attempted to replicate in the final track of this album, titled “Afectos del Desastre” (Affects of Disaster).

The papers related with the research carried out by CIGIDEN mentioned above are the following:

1) Puchuncaví: Tironi, M. (2018). Hypo-interventions: Intimate activism in toxic environments. Social Studies of Science, 48(3), 438-455.

2) Quillagua: Acuña, V., & Tironi, M. (2022). Extractivist droughts: Indigenous hydrosocial endurance in Quillagua, Chile. The Extractive Industries and Society, 9, 101027.

3) Santa Olga: González Gálvez, M., Gallegos, F., & Turén, V. (2021). Unfinished extinction and the velocities of capitalist sacrifices in the woodlands of central Chile. Tapuya: Latin American Science, Technology and Society, 4(1), 1939491.

Tiger A

“structure out”

It’s another debut in the MiMi Records catalog. From the Japanese capital, we receive “Structure Out”, an album by Tiger A that is truly a work of art, where piano improvisation and the blend of ambient sounds go hand in hand, creating a unique auditory experience.

The fusion of flowing melodies with ethereal sonic textures induces a state of contemplation, where the boundaries between music and visuals fade away. The production is subtle yet impactful, inviting deep immersion.

This album is a testament to Tiger A’s ability to tell emotional, transcendent stories through his piano. An album to be listened to without any reservations.
