about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

mar io – listen to my heart

mar io – listen to my heart
[127]

mar io

“listen to my heart”

What sticks out while listening to the Listen to my heart EP is the fact that ist creator Mar io has been in the business for a long time and has mastered the skill of combining a range of influences and styles into very atmospheric tunes. After his previous vinyl EP on the Cologne-based label Form & Terra, these seven new tracks seem more like a mini album than your usual EP and embrace the listener with warm and atmospheric melodies, vocals and lots of groove from start to finish. Mar io’s sounds are packed with club music history, ranging from acid house references, emerging through the Zweig remix of the title track, up to flashbacks into the more explicit and direct approach for which 90s club tracks are so much loved these days. However, he always manages to weave such influences into his tracks in the most respectful way, not making it sound like an obvious reach out to the retro-crowd but like a loving reminiscence of the glorious past. Not to forget that with „Shake Your Body (Give It To Me)“ (Electro Mix) Mar io underlines that his latest EP is not only made for the dancefloor, even though this is where it surely will cause elevate levels of serotonine pretty soon.

Enkō and Inversus – Murmur EP

Enkō and Inversus – Murmur EP

Enkō and Inversus

“Murmur EP”

Enkō and Inversus is a mixture of two artistic talents who are actively contributing to the Lisbon music scene.

Enkō is a DJ and producer and a rising name on techno and ambient. He’s been behind the curatorial activity at OBRΔ after-hours, the sunset evenings of Ocaso, and is a solid DJ frequenting venues such as Lux, Boom Festival, Gare, Orbits, Festival Forte, etc.

Inversus is a musician, trained painter, and professional studio owner. He relentlessly explores the possibilities of visual and sound arts. The impact of his 2017 release, “Sobrena” (ZigurArtists label) is still echoing while his live performances continue to resonate.

“Murmur” arose from the intersection of these two producers’ exploration of semi-literal rhythms and atmospheres. The result fits very comfortably into the Arctic Dub (Sursumcorda) evolving aesthetic, with remixes by label partners Gabi von Dub (Augen) and Dave Wesley… and signature graphic design by Andre Macedo.

Dave Wesley – Fourth Wall

Dave Wesley

“Fourth Wall”

Dave Wesley’s full length aural autobiography covering the last half of 2018, based on subconscious peripheral sonic imagery… the blurry content that selective perception ignores.

What others are saying:

“Listening to this music, I kind of feel like I am a replicant in the rain of Bladerunner, hand twitching as I search for some dry room away from the lights and the wind, knowing I am going to die soon but wanting the heat of the room just the same, just for a passing moment.”
– Steve Santineau

“Just an amazing album…I especially like Tracks 1, 9, 10, 13… (Like Controlled Bleeding meets Ryuichi Sakamoto’s OUT OF NOISE in a film by David Lynch)”.

Lamont Kohner – Beckons

Lamont Kohner – Beckons

Lamont Kohner

“Beckons”

It’s finally Summertime, but press play, close your eyes and you’d never be able to tell. Lamont Kohner’s third single for RP lands with a roomy bass pulse and a dusty loop that slowly splits open to reveal white noise-crusted dub chords and a thumping traincar rhythm. BECKONS does what it says on the tin, with minimal side effects, drawing us into the seedy nightlife of Kohner’s noir cityscapes and neon vapors. Following the irresistible groove of BECKONS is CLOSE IT, a slightly more traditional dub techno affair, recalling the Detroit strains of Deepchord and Echospace while also conjuring a thick-as-a-brick rhythmic foundation that goes even further back to the first couple Maurizio 12″s in Germany. The whole thing congeals into that trademark Kohner shuffle, and we’re once again sitting back in a darkened taxi, window half open, smoke wafting out into the greasy streets. Falling beneath the music’s spell, you feel compelled to close the window – we’re doing something intimate in here.

Das All – Allbum

Das All – Allbum
[GRUWAVFFD 001]

Das All

“Allbum”

Last summer, my former bandmate asked me to process and glue his field shots, which he had taken during the holidays in Croatia. I liked the idea so much that I threw myself into this adventure and did all kinds of field shots with my old Nokia Classic 2300. With the material of Mathias and myself, I ventured into a new universe. This resulted in this over 2 hours long work, which should correspond to a timeless time capsule. This was my first work in this direction and it was a lot of fun, although a lot of time was taken.

>From outward journey to stay to return, this album breaks down a bit of modern history and does not leave much room for distraction. In the first chapter, the listener soon notices that the technician had forgotten to turn off his iPhone after field recording and most likely fell asleep. Sometimes one hears his breath, which fits in calmly on the whole chapter. Chapters 2 and 3 were then deliberately introduced as hearty life sketches and give the album a true consciousness.

Let yourself be abducted into a world full of appreciation.

Friends and Enemies – Santa Rosa de Lima (2012)
[MYRL002]

Friends and Enemies

“Santa Rosa de Lima (2012)”

A melodic, chaotic, deep and melancholic maxi-single, slow at its beginning but becomes faster and cheerful. Lyrics are just basically phrases they came out with while they played the songs. Distraught shrieking is just a background texture.

This album is a result of bad days as human beings, and some kind of catharsis for all. ‘Santa Rosa de Lima’ is a reminder that life goes on while we are sitting here, waiting for something to happen.

Aunt Jackie

“I’m The Godmother”

This track is about the narcissist mother of family murderer Chris Watts who in an interview blamed her pregnant dead daughter-in-law for her own killing as well as the killing of her two girls.

The second track is a rework by Willi. It was produced at Cadmium Studio.

This release ended in the disbandment of the band Das All that consisted of Willi and me. I offered Willi to mention Cadium Studio on the cover of this release after he mentioned to me he was looking for publicity. He thought the idea so ridiculous that he ended all collaboration with me.

“Batteries Low EP”

Duality Micro (aka eVade) is a producer from lower Saxony who’s been active since the mid 90s, releasing on a plethora of labels. He’s the inventor of a cable to sync up Game Boys with Korg drum machines.
Previously, he appeared on two 20kbps compilations but this ablum is his first release on our label under this moniker. All of the eight songs of the EP are solid, but one that imo stands out is Guten Abend Leute (Nixtauger Mix 2), an addictive minimal tech-house track, where you’ll automatically start to shake along.

Brother Blue – Shoreline Drive

Brother Blue – Shoreline Drive
[BC75]

Brother Blue

“Shoreline Drive”

Following his Automatic Writing single, issued on the Autumn Equinox in late 2018, Brother Blue opens 2019 with Shoreline Drive, a 5-track EP of dub techno cuts and RP’s first release of the new year. It is also fitting that it should come out today, during the Super Blood Wolf Moon, a rare celestial event that echoes some of the themes on these tracks.

Musically, Shoreline Drive brings more excellent electronics on the deeper side of the spectrum to play with the rest of the Bedroom Compost catalog. Tim’s work is never less than superb and intimately engaging, and these five tracks are equal parts rugged techno rhythms, sultry dub chords and textured atmospheres that displace the listener. Shoreline Drive recalls not only Detroit classics like Echospace and Deepchord, but also many other deep moments in the Recycled Plastics library, from Ohrwert, Mon0, Axs, Zzzzra, Coppice Halifax and Textural Being, among others…In short, we are beyond happy to have Tim once again here with us, and Shoreline Drive feels both new and home-worn familiar, in all the best ways.

NOTE: The physical edition of Shoreline Drive also contains two additional tracks: “Automatic Writing (Version)” from BC72 and a 2018 remaster of “Summoning UFOs”, which previously only appeared on a compilation at the luxurious Silent Season label. With these two extras, Shoreline Drive becomes a 67-minute long dub trip, not to be missed!

WHΛLT THISИEY selects and mixes music for the mind and body in the same quantities that emerges from encounters between the past and the present, drawing beauty of the commonplace, wiping, polishing it, giving it life again, so to produce the same effect of the original freshness and spontaneity, a mirror that transforms it absorbs and reflects.

WHΛLT THISИEY mixes impressionist piano atmospheres, spoken wordcore, drone, experimental, library, hypnotic escapism music. WHΛLT THISИEY aka Fernando Cerqueira is the founder member of Thisco record label and publisher of Antibothis anthologies.

The Neptune Project (feat. Bvitae)

“Aversive”

MalLabel Music is elated to be welcoming back one of our favourite high end, intelligent producers Aversive with another beautiful expedition of trip hop glory.

Long creating magic in her studio in the misty mountains of British Columbia, a lack of distraction clearly plays to her benefit as she has churned out 12 releases over 3 years, with The Neptune Project being one of the most refined and cerebral productions yet. The decision to pair with another Canadian gem Bvitae has elevated Aversive’s sound to a new range of symphonic mastery.

‘The Neptune Project’ is in essence, a breath of absolute fresh air. Orchestral horns, chilled out snares and soothing, feminine vocals weave through a sultry and mature lounge of modern kaleidoscopic jazz. The EP is decidedly smooth and extremely well produced, a meeting of time and place. How can a sound establish itself at once at the absolute forefront of the west coast’s future scene and in smokey east coast venues of 1990’s Massive Attack mayhem? Aversive and Bvitae have managed to break through to quantum experimental levels that feel familiar and yet so incredibly new.

Goodbye bro-step, later big-room bass; there’s a new movement of gentle, refined electronica arriving and Aversive and Bvitae are sensuously leading the revolution.
