about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Palancar – Music For Stargazing Volume One

Palancar – Music For Stargazing Volume One

Palancar

“Music For Stargazing Volume One”

One of my biggest concerns about the modern world is the growing scarcity of dark skies available to humanity. So many kids grow up without ever once seeing the Milky Way or appreciating first hand the scale of the cosmos spread out across the sky above. Everything is hidden behind a haze of orange light pollution that blankets our urban skies from every direction. How can we as a species understand our place in the great scheme of things if we never even look up? How can we maintain a sense of perspective and humility?

To help promote stargazing as a fundamental human activity, I have begun a series of albums to hopefully serve as a sound track for stargazing, the kind of music one might listen to while leaning back under an inky sky and taking in the vast expanse of the great sky river. I call this series “Music For Stargazing” and this is my first volume in this collection.

Mostly beatless and largely percussion-free, this music seeks to evoke the majesty and mystery of our cosmos and to facilitate pure enjoyment of our beautiful universe and our place in it. I hope you find it as useful and inspiring in your stargazing activities as I do.

“Mucilage”

Four Little Pasted-Up Things
brought to life by CRGIII & LJDB

Once upon a time a Danish person offered a Kansan two recorded synthesizer improvisations named “Televizor” and “Home Town.” The Dane proposed that the Kansan use these recordings as building blocks to sculpt collaborative bits of audio art. Accepting this offer, the Kansan cut the recordings into bits, edited them with digital sound effects, arranged them into various patterns, added bits from his own original sonic concoctions, and glued everything together to produce four unique compositions. A variety of late 20th and early 21st Century technologies helped make the whole plan come to life. The process of gluing together these sound collages gave birth to the titles of the finished recordings and of the collection as a whole. The results are presented here, along with the authors’ hopes that listeners may crack a smile or two while taking in this exhibit.

Davor Tosovic – Night Lights (Insectorama139)

At the beginning of the day the light slowly comes through the fog of the night. It finds its way and surrounds you with its warmth. The deepest melodies rush past you, accompanied by echoes that don’t want to end and pull you into the depths of the chords. The rhythms won’t let you go and dive deep into your inner self.

2.Inside

H.Kyllönen – ciproxin ep

H.Kyllönen – ciproxin ep
[ep/lp release #7]

H.Kyllönen

“ciproxin ep”

The album starts with “qap19”. A very powerful track which instantly introduces Kyllönen’s style to the listener. Fast complex beats and high tuned distorted bleeps with clipping treble make your ears bleed. Sweet and relaxing pads and the harsh beats together as contradictions build up a very efficient tune. I love this one.

“Iteca liqer” is a very hard distorted track with tricky beats and distorted speech samples. Not much melodies here except the distorted sweeping bass and almost random like bleeps. There’s nothing radically new in this I think but a great track for hunger of fast and hard beats. Reminds me of AFX’s older works (the harder ones).

The third track “waterworks” is smooth ambient and fits in just perfect after two harder tunes. The filtered watery rhythm effects and effected child-like vocal samples run along with the minimal strings just nicely. To me this certainly isn’t the best track on the ep (well, this is one of Kyllö”nen’s older tunes).

“Qap19” and this fourth track “Threethree” are my favorites on this ep. I just love those pads on “threethree” – the pad sample itself is a very nice humming sample and the melody is really really nice (the best I’ve heard for a while). The comp again is very fast in Kyllö”nen’s style. The track is just too short – if you asked me it could go on for over twice it’s present duration. I was really positively surprised when this one came 6th at assembly music compo. I really love this one.

“Celedo” is something that I had heard long before the rest of the tunes. The melody played with strings, female voices and an ethnic like instruments got to me then and I still think it’s very catchy. Again in this track is a fast beat played with many kinds of percussion and other effects.

The ending track “lost” is FSOL like ambient with reversed pianos and different over reverbed sounds and other effects. Smooth strings and flutes come along playing melancholy tunes. There come different loops of samples like ring modulated rhythmic noises and a nice wind bell loop at the end of the song. This is a great chill out track that suits nicely the end of a great ep.

Although this album would do very nice without some of the older tracks like “iteca liqer” and “waterworks” there are some pearls here too such as “qap19”, “threethree” and “lost”.

Artificial Memory Trace + Nimbostrata

“Aura Colemount”

The bubbling device by Artificial Memory Trace meets deep and layered electronica by Nimbostrata on this album. Artificial Memory Trace was inspired by the image from Vedic scriptures of Vishnu sleeping while he dreams bubbles, and each bubble becoming a different universe. Nimbostrata’s music brings to mind the vastness of space and the endless possibilities that exist within it.

Hermanokiltro

“Limitaciones & Retazos”

Almost two years after their first release (HK. Orion, 2020), including their early works (2012-2015), “Limitaciones & Retazos” (Limitations & Pieces) is Máximo Campos Flores and Felipe Reyes Flores, second album, produced during the long Covid-19 pandemic quarantines and those days’ limitations, where getting together and making machines work was a therapeutic parenthesis in uncertain and catastrophic times.

Thus, pieces from intermittent improvisation sessions were put together, searching for landscapes, rhythms and melodies, part of the duo’s musical DNA, ranging from electronic cumbia to house, hip-hop to ambient, considering the whole variety of registers and sonic inquiries in their debut release.

“Limitaciones & Retazos” confirms this duo unprejudiced sonic curiosity and stylistic breadth, stretching their own limits, self-assured that musical experience is a permanent learning realm.

“Digital Chalisa”

Compensating world noise.
Where have the good times gone?
Divided by zero.

Sound artist Pawel Rassolko returns to Phonocake with an album that offers us a sound that fits so really well in this year 2022. It’s not an easy album to listen to, it’s quite demanding, but it’s worth experiencing it as an hour of a concert in sound art shared with the world, expressing themes of confusion, war, longing, nostalgia and fear. Pavel Rassolko makes music for films and is also a writer.

Autonomaton + Pandacetamol

“Autopanda Pandanomaton”

Paul and Niki first encountered one another on Dr Walker’s “We Call It Acid” forum around 14 years ago… or maybe it was at the “Psychedelic Kitchen”… Anyway, Pandacetamol and eSoundC (later on starting his solo electronic project Autonomaton) bonded over a mutual love of off-the-wall and psychedelic electronica. As the years past, the internet kept them connected with lots of music people in common, but they never managed to work together. Until now.

In a collaboration long overdue, jokingly titled “Autopanda Pandanomaton” by the Mahorka label boss (which eventually they loved and it stayed), they revisit each other’s ideas in experimental dub, abstract electronica, idm and ambient ending up in a coherent new direction that leaves us asking for more.

Various Artist – Another Beast Feast

Various Artist – Another Beast Feast
[LCNLP150]

Various Artist

“Another Beast Feast”

The Necrophile Hummingbird netlabel presents Another Beast Feast by PARRHESIA Sound System VS Ethnomite Pux.
“Magick Music for Magick People”.

When I received the tracks of Ethnomite Pux I was juggling with the development of several albums, so that it was uneasy to think about a collaboration, but one of them is a kinda tribute to one of my best friend left too young in July involving rADio eNd, PIRATE Tapes, Invisible Illusion, A Symbiotic Experience and Yoshiwaku. But there is no music of this friend inside so I thought about to remix his drum ‘n bass tracks for this split album. Also he wanted we do an adaptation song of one Aleister poem, perhaps the hermit, so despite I find it really cliché now, I already did some with Gestalt OrchestrA years ago www.archive.org/details/ZvezdaMix and I’m not that much in this energy. I choose to add few of his recordings I had not use at this time.
Next I had a listen of the tracks at their original speed. And I find it really cool to keep them as they catch really my buddy sound perhaps more than his own tracks. Also it’s forming a slow ascension to the tempo of the Ethnomite Pux tracks and I enjoy the idea to show how PARRHESIA Sound System is built by slowing down electronic music, same way to give in the titles the ratio keys I often use. Because one day too I will no more be here and it would be such a joy younger generation continue to explore these ways to create music. Except the 4th Ethnomite Pux track made with a loop I nearly only added the sound of a frantic play done with my mini kaossilator.

Another Beast Feast complete very well the tribute “A loss hard to measure” which will be release the 30th september, and includes poems by W.B Yeats.

There is a full album by Ethnomite Pux including these tracks soon release here ratasordarec.bandcamp.com

3818919/w – Nachos Supreme EP
[mtk008]

3818919/w

“Nachos Supreme EP”

The first EP release online from Monotonik, and that quirky English idm-ster, 3818919/w, comes up trumps with some beautiful tracks influenced by everything from Bola through Bochum Welt to Plone.

The lead track, “Nachos Supreme”, is full of wonderfully twisty riffs and nimble drums, and “Ages” and “Cheshire” float into melodic ambience of the slightly surreal, fevered kind, whilst the final tune, “Shift-Break”, uses clunks and robot voices to bring the noise, 1982-style. Good show, old chap.

3818919/w also did the cover for this mp3 to reflect some of his favourite nights down the pub with a plan, a beer, and a plate of tortilla+tomato. Mm, cheesy.

“The Go Loop”

Since Twilight is sitting next to me as I write this, it’s going to be difficult to write anything without feeling very paranoid. 🙂 Anyhow, the tune’s got style, the tune’s got grace, Rita.. oops, I almost started vogueing there. Twilight isn’t peeking, apparently. Oh, and you may well spot a little reference to Hades in the tune. Phew, it’s hot down there. And hot up here too, or would be if ‘they’ cared. Long live the Underworld, err, underground. 🙂

Bedouin Drone + Runi Graph

“Taliban”

“Taliban” EP is a collaboration between BedouinDrone and Runi Graph that was spontaneously launched around a year and a half prior to the release when Runi Graph drummed on some existing tracks by BedouinDrone and sent him the overdubs. Then more sounds were exchanged in both directions and new exciting music started to take shape and direction that was finalized in this first officially released EP from the hopefully ongoing collaboration of the duo. We are really happy to present this work on Mahorka, where both artists have released earlier and had their defining debuts, with BedouinDrone’s album “The Border” from 2018 in and Runi Graph’s “For I know that the view of a tree is not subjective” EP from 2021.
