about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

“Against The Tide”

We believe that unleashing electronic monsters is absolutely effortless but this one here is different. This album takes you to the sunny side as it dares to be funny and idiotic, cheerful and lighthearted, so literally anything from C64 to AIs can pop out of it in any style. It doesn’t serve trends and tries not to be one of the tens of thousands of faceless music streamed every day. Made with love and delight, free, for you.

“I’m more frightened than interested by artificial intelligence – in fact, perhaps fright and interest are not far away from one another. Things can become real in your mind, you can be tricked, and you believe things you wouldn’t ordinarily. A world run by automatons doesn’t seem completely unrealistic anymore. It’s a bit chilling.” —Gemma Whelan

Vitor Oliveira

“桃 – Momo”

He is another artist making his debut on MiMi Records. From the city of Barcelos comes Vitor Oliveira with “桃” – Momo, a seven-track album of mesmerizing electronic music, drones and enigmatic soundscapes.

“桃” – Momo dives deep into experimental electronic music, offering listeners an auditory experience. An album with a crescendo from track to track and perhaps that’s why the names of the songs are just numbers and ordered in ascending order.

With each track, Vitor Oliveira invites the listener to a sonic journey full of intricate layers, haunting melodies and evocative rhythms, where influences from artists such as ben frost or oneothrix point never can be noted.

An album to discover and remember pink is the new black!!

Waldgrenze – Cooper Pairs vol.2

Waldgrenze – Cooper Pairs vol.2

Waldgrenze

“Cooper Pairs vol.2”

Released April 11, 2024

Waldgrenze (meaning “border of the forest”) is the project of Theo Kovalev (Wave Resistance), focused on ambient and experimental electronic music, as well as acoustic sound production experiments and field recordings, inspired by the ecological idea of friendly coexistence of two opposing sides – nature and technology. Born in joint improvisational jam sessions with other artists, the project eventually transformed and acquired its own sound character, retaining the original idea of the changes made to live recordings to preserve the feeling of “here and now”, where in each composition you can hear the unique state of different places.

In some cases, during jam sessions, it is possible to reach a certain interesting state, during which intriguing compositions are born, which often do not require further post-processing. Such a unique creative phenomenon of musician collaboration resembles the pairing of electrons into Cooper pairs in a superconductor. The classical theory of superconductivity states that, below a specific critical temperature, electrons in a metal pair up to create bosons called Cooper pairs. These bosons form a phase-coherent condensate that can flow through a material without scattering – the result being superconductivity.

The three sessions comprising “Cooper Pairs vol.2” were captured during collaborative jam sessions in the project’s homeland over several years prior to relocating to Australia. The first piece stands as a classic example of Theo Kovalev’s drone ambient collages, enriched by the interplay between Ilya Suzdaltsev’s acoustic improvisations and Nikita Vasilyenko’s experimental electronic elements. The second composition merges rhythmic passages with ethereal ambient textures, crafted in collaboration with Vadim Rumyantsev (Room V), originally christened as Cooper Pairs, thus inspiring the title for Theo Kovalev’s series of joint recordings with various artists. Bringing the album to a close is a track blending trip-hop elements with guitar ambient, recorded during a unique jam session with Oleg Zherdev, a multi-instrumentalist also known for his work with The Awakening Stones Garden (ASG) project.

[YESNO 110]

rEmPiT g0dDe$$

“PRIME ENERGY”

“I dreamt of an instrument obedient to my thoughts, bending & shaping the fabric of reality itself.”

rEmPiT g0dDe$$ adeptly synthesises the traditional tunings of Southeast Asian instruments such as Malaysia’s Serunai, Rebab, and The Philippines’ Kulintang into the dynamic fabric of mutated-club music within the domain of textural industrial soundscapes, characterised by propulsive rhythms echoing the spirit of rave, merging the timelines between traditional practices, grassroots EDM, and post-club rhythms.

Part of Southeast Asia’s electronic music scene, Victoria Yam moves between worlds as easily as she slips between her two experimental music projects, Viktoria and rEmPiT g0dDe$$.

Spending her time between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore the producer and DJ boldly ventures into the farthest, darkest recesses of industrial club, whipping up missives from the underground – playing across Asia and Europe such as Boiler Room for Maho Rasop festival in Bangkok, Naarm’s Speed at Final in Taipei, the Alex Blake Charlie Sessions Festival in Singapore, Pestapora festival in Jakarta, Orbitware in Bali, Nhạc Gãy in Saigon, and King’s Place for the Oram Awards in London where she performs as Viktoria, her singer-songwriter alias.

Miguel Gil – EROS Y TANATOS

Miguel Gil – EROS Y TANATOS
[pn230]

Miguel Gil

“EROS Y TANATOS”

“EROS Y TÁNATOS”: a recording for physically modeled piano and self-oscillator, both processed live. In composing this material, I’ve worked by inducing intermittent liminal sleep states, aiming to generate sustained feedback between music and sleep, or in other words, between my conscious and my musical subconscious.

Throughout the album, the clock ticks slowly in parallel with the music, under the vulnerability of liminal time. Meanwhile, the musical discourse traverses different compositional and improvisatory approaches, where the sound of the piano functions as a collective emotional memory that dialogues with electronics, like magnetic fields interfering with each other. This interaction questions the traditional hierarchical fiction between “main” and ornamental musical material.

The music contained in these pieces flows as an erotic act of life, an unconscious redeemer of the tearing caused by the inevitability of the disappearance of all we know.

Miguel Gil
(Madrid, España/Spain. Abril / April 2024)

In this work Miguel Gil navigates in sounds that come from diverse musical traditions, flowing in waters of diverse colors, guiding them, making them converge and immersing himself into them to interconnect spectral contents and dynamics. The color of the piano is expanded electronically and unfolds and converges again in a refined construction. Just as a material is transparent from the outset, the artist also presents elusive sound figures to the inevitable human mimetic need. In them, distortion at times seems to be an audible being, a séricule as Chion would say, indeterminate, novel, and at other times, a dense veil over a possible instrument played by a mysterious musician. Whatever the case, Gil dominates the structure, at times diachronic like a stroke of Chinese calligraphy and at other times spectrally orchestrated. At other times, the piano notes, in sensitive, tension-filled intervals, impressionistic if you will, can journey into delicately rough spaces through electronic iterations. A music that seems referential to various musical backgrounds, but at the same time timeless and of a richness elaborated from the subtle to the frank gesture thanks to the author’s extensive mastery of sound.

4774 – Two Tales of a King

4774

“Two Tales of a King”

4774’s reflections generally produces thoughtfully abrasive, ruefully quiet free improvisation. In Two Tales of a King, their fifth release on Workaholics Heteronymous, 4774 investigate a minimalistic approach to composition and improvisation, by improvising freely within a set of fixed musical parameters. Here is how they describe what they do:

“On the first two tracks, the musical material is restricted to just two notes (played at various pitches). All other parameters (tempo, mode of attack, sequence, variations, etc.) are left free. Tale One focuses on C# – E and exploits only the resources of the instrument(s) and of the instrumentalist(s), while Tale Two focuses on B – D and involves extended techniques and electronics. In Coda, the musical material is even more restricted, to only one note located just between C and C#, again with all other parameters left free.”

Lezet – Meld 8

Lezet

“Meld 8”

Lezet is an experimental one-man music project hailing from Pozega, Serbia and releasing music since 2006. Being an avid music fan in love with many different styles, genres and approaches in music, Igor Jovanovic tries to explore and incorporate many of them into the sound of Lezet. Igor sees music as an artistic practice which should be fun and exciting for those making it, and feels fortunate enough to have many friends and fellow music makers allowing him to grow artistically by collaborating with him.

After more than a decade since the previous “Meld” album was released, Igor decided to revive the series where each song in the album is made with a different collaborator.

The previous volumes were the albums that Igor loved making / being part of more than any of his solo endeavours. The “Meld” series galvanised his venturing in producing music in duos and groups since.

“Thanks to all the artists who collaborating with me on “Meld 8″ and for making the album as brilliant as it is!”

Collaborators featured on “Meld 8”:

And, like I like listening to different styles and genres in music, I play different genres and styles. Solo works are one branch in my activities; more fulfilling – be it in live situations or in the studio, is to come together with others in collaborations.” wilfriedhanrath.bandcamp.com

Kleshas – Christopher B. Arnett’s recent moniker exploring melodic experimental and classical music even further than the music he released under his own name.

Dj Odraz – Ken Willbond started the project after a decade and a half of making music as Protecious. The music is influenced by metal, hip-hop, funk, horror movie soundtracks and many other styles and genres. facebook.com/Protecious

dagshenma – kyoto japan walk
[mi313]

dagshenma

“kyoto japan walk”

For those who have never heard or been interested in music of the microsound genre, this album may be an experience unlike anything they have ever heard, however, as you progress through the album you will instantly feel something familiar or identifiable.

dagshenma builds this album from just 4 songs with carefully basic electronic sounds – sine waves, glitch and clicks and cuts.

Speaking this way, it seems like we are facing an album of strange and sonic torture, but it is anything but that.

A brilliant first album.
