Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

The Clown

“Rituals” is an esoteric experience aimed to wander overdriven worlds and weird melodic lands.

sound collision alliance

“53:38”

sound collision alliance is a group of three composers who were brought together by their shared interest in exploring the world outside the western classical conservatory style of sound creation. the three composers – darren bartolo, sam krahn, and sarah ritch – rarely discuss melodic or harmonic structure before playing. instead, they use improvisation as a means to investigate the interplay of sound. they experiment with the spatial, harmonic, and chronological elements of sound in order to create a forum to experience vibrations and resonance in an uninhibited environment.

53:38 is the first album from sound collision alliance and was recorded in one session over the course of 6 hours. the sounds created range from pure spontaneous noise to repetitive rhythmic grooves. in addition to guitars, cello and laptop you will also hear gu zheng, guitars, cello, and slinky.

Good Natured Threat

“Beacons Remixed”

It´s one year ago that I firstly introduced the band Good Natured Threat to you. In that time, Good Natured Threat shined mainly by the track Beacons. To bring their production back – it´s like a diffusion between downtempo and trip hop. Nowadays their next enterprise has begun by cooperation with Mark Drifter (ES), Xtrngr (SK), Niburu (NL), KeOSz (SK) a Wonderbro (CAN). It´s clear proof that conjugal doublet has fans not only at home, but also at the old continent.

Cryxuss

“Ethereal Creature”

Cryxuss is “music for space travellers”, it’s a solo project started in 2011 and the release “Ethereal Creature” is an album composed in a period of changes for artist life: on every track, Cryxuss has tried to express common feelings typical when you’re trying to grow up and improve yourself: loneliness, confusion, uncertainty. But, even if we are not sure of what we have to do or what we want to do in life, there will be anyway a part of our soul that dreams and hopes, and that will not be defeated by any period of difficulty. That’s Ethereal Creature that lives in everyone.

Kritchev vs. Ban meet The Egg And We – Modernists Attack!

Kritchev vs. Ban meet The Egg And We – Modernists Attack!
[HAZE146]

Kritchev vs. Ban meet The Egg And We

“Modernists Attack!”

Since the early ’90s, Kritchev and Ban dabbled in home-taping (and also engaged in collecting and listening to all kinds of music), and later joined forces for joint action. Kritchev vs. Ban, taking as a basis the principle of no music / no instruments, essentially positioned themselves as amateurs, non-musicians who use their love to the sounds and the easiest ways of sound as a starting point of his «creative» activity. To create the records used household radios — radio-gramophone, amplifier, tape recorder, microphone, TV, music player, player records and CDs.

PLASMAN – Plastico

PLASMAN – Plastico
[51bts@037]

PLASMAN

“Plastico”

Carlo Vergani, aka PLASMAN, being one-third of CANI GIGANTI, is finally back to his solo-live show. Following his former albums “Pompieri in Moto” and “Futuro Anteriore”, the latest also available in an extended CD version and containing the Adriano Canzian remix of the main track, Plasman is now back with a fully renovated live project in which simple “minimal” structures are combined with perforating sounds for an extremely groovy set, oriented to the new-techno-minimal dancefloor.
“Plastico” has its focus on researching new sounds from technical inputs. Emotions are left apart while letting go is the point. The 1st track “uno” starts a journey through lysergic rock that speeds up to trot for an ideological ping-pong match, in the mean time outside it’s probably raining. Flashing lights can be felt getting to the track “tre”, where obsession leaves the scene to cathartic loops with hypnotic effects. Right in the middle of the album, track “cinque” plays with 8 bit and synths that are competing in a crescent electro rhythm, boosting up the dance floor. Donkey Kong is jumping around avoiding barrels in the minimal milestone “otto”, which preludes the acid alien’s invasions coming with tracks “nove” and “dieci”. “Plastico” will make you dancing.

Starpilot – Nomad Planet [Single]

Starpilot – Nomad Planet [Single]
[TWG001b]

Starpilot

“Nomad Planet [Single]”

Crafting an album for two years yields a lot of content, but almost everything created during Starpilot’s Ragged Smile sessions were gold. As a compromise, we bring you a single release featuring one the best summarising tracks for Ragged Smile’s atmosphere and styles as an A-side, and with it five never-before-heard B-Sides that didn’t make the album cut, not due to lack of quality, but for the purpose of running length. As a result, this 6 track single is as strong as the album, comes with its’ own front and back covers and also, as a nice treat, features 8 bonus tracks recorded in 2011 you get on download. These older tracks are guitar-and-vocal-only demos of some of the songs that made it through to the album (vastly changed) and some that did not, giving you, the listener, a better insight into the sheer amount of time and care that Starpilot has put in to morph Ragged Smile and Nomad Planet into what is sure to be his defining work.

Steve Moyes – Gardening

Steve Moyes – Gardening
[LOR023]

Steve Moyes

“Gardening”

Gardening is a collection of solo acoustic guitar improvisations, performed and recorded by Steve Moyes in the back garden at his home in Gillingham, Kent, England, during the Spring of 2012.

Equipment used: 2 acoustic guitars (one of which is broken), baby knife, hand-held mini fan, 45 rpm record (A Chill At Dawn by Barney Bigard and his Orchestra). Occasionally both guitars were played at once (one with each hand).

“I don’t consider myself either an acoustic guitarist or a gardener. When Richard Sanderson suggested I record an acoustic guitar album for Linear Obsessional, I came up with the idea of recording outdoors, in an attempt to inject a greater variety of sounds into the recordings. It also gave me an excuse to be out in my garden, which I like, but not have to feel that I should be lawnmowing, weeding, or pruning, which I don’t. Thank you Richard.

Also, thanks to Alan Clark of Alan Clark Joinery for providing some of the more interesting ambient sounds on the recordings. More interesting, at least, than the pigeons. Sometimes I wish the pigeons would just shut up.” – Steve Moyes

Download comes with 12 page A5 booklet of photographs and notes.

Uma Totoro – Aparatos que Median Entre la Realidad y el Hombre

Uma Totoro – Aparatos que Median Entre la Realidad y el Hombre
[HAZE145]

Uma Totoro

“Aparatos que Median Entre la Realidad y el Hombre”

There is a city whose environment is the sound, a city where the noise is permanent, where the noise is traffic sound.

A place where the sound of silence hurts, where time seems to run for his life.

That run was stopped at one point, there.

Where? When?

No one remembers but I do. This happened in the year 2010. That season two men took their bodies to the same area and spread the sacred word «flash». Abra and Fran removed letters and redefine the flash, to leave it as an expression of a body, of an indescribable dream, of a sound named as: Uma Totoro.

U.To was borned in Buenos Aires, when a new government took dependence of the city. This yellow empire put walls and fences, while Fran and Abra mixed beats with patterns of keyboards and strings. U.To.: programming, guitars and keyboards. Gov: fences and patrols.

The soundscape recreates the noise to return it to the bodies in a beat, a beat that hits the chests and floors to remember that the sounds are outside and inside.

The Totoro landscape pushed the noisedance experience to the stage, and produced an anesthetized dance by the noise (or an anesthetized noise by the dance?).

2011 made the metaphor true, the dance of the noise arrived at a disc. Five songs, break the noise, to hear it; break the beats, to smooth them. Five noisedance pieces, if you hear them, you will be able to pronunce: Uma Totoro

2012 broke the truth and brought the doubt ¿do we actually live surrounded by devices that mediate between man and reality? 6 songs run through sound interference and guitars as frames, or infinit networks, spread along to the beats, beating, dancing. How many mediations are?

Sebastian Love

“What we are made for”

Me and you, side by side, through the horizon: this is What we are made for, a love song.
Both a melting and an impossible relationship.
It’s the kind of love that wrecks hearts, as much as the wind messes up the hair of two young lovers, hugging on the road that goes beyond stars.
