about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Teeth of Divine

“ReAct I : ReGenesis”

Last Christmas we released the outstanding debut Teeth Of Divine album “Act I: Genesis” while the work on some extraordinary reworks had already inevitably begun with the likes of Autonomaton, Ab Uno, BedouinDrone and Sai. This slowly but steadily evolved into much bigger project, involving an impressive roster of artists and projects from around the spectrum – xotox, Hypnos, Amotken, George Christian, TFSL, Wayab, Sevensy, Luneta Freedom Jazz Collective, HeAD, Philippe Neau, Пускай Пералнята, Michel Kristof, Abu Ama, Mokushi, Tokee, iiney and Teeth Of Divine themselves. In the vein of always preparing and releasing a really special collaborative Mahorka project for Netlabel Day (e.g. Fire to the Stars, Captive Portal and krāllār reworks albums, the “Music for Elevators vol. 5” VA compilation and a 4T Thieves remixes album), this year, on 14/07/2020, we will present the huge “ReAct I: ReGenesis”.

released July 14, 2020

Cover artwork: Angel Draganov
Final mixing and mastering touches: Yasen Penchev
Executive producer: Ivo Petrov
Curated, coordinated by: Ivo Petrov, Boyan Avramov, Yasen Penchev

mGee – Remixes, Volume 1

mGee – Remixes, Volume 1
[BSMX0192]

mGee

“Remixes, Volume 1”

So, you may or may not know that not only do I (Mike Gregoire, founding owner) run this label, but I also dip my toe in music-making as mGee, whenever I have free time. So, it’s no surprise that I rarely release music, since I rarely have extra time. That’s too bad, because I love making it. Four years after my last release, I finally decided to make time for it. I recently heard an old remix and thought that it could use a few tweaks and a remaster. That lead to deciding to revisit a few remixes and releasing them together as Remixes, Volume 1 to help celebrate Netlabel Day. So here we are. I hope you discover or rediscover these songs and perhaps revisit each artist’s releases, too! Included are remixed songs by BADLUCK, Cheese N Pot-C, Garmisch, The Honorable Sleaze & Liam Stewart. All incredible artists that deserve to be heard beyond the remixes. As the name suggests, expect another volume sometime in the future.

Thank you so much to all artists that have allowed folks to remix their tunes! R.I.P Sleaze.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Donnie Ozone

“Skate God”

Aside from his appearance on Cheese N Pot-C’sDown To The Wire EP at the end of 2019, it’s been exactly a year since we last released a Donnie Ozone joint. That’s because we can always count on him holding it down for Netlabel Day. In fact, his last release was for that exact reason. Well here we are and Donnie once again delivers for this special day celebrating netlabel culture. With Skate God, he gives us a tasty hip-hop joint laced with drum n bass beats and lyrics painting a vivid picture of a skate god doing that thing! Hey kids… enjoy this.

Yo Donnie… you continue to deliver the super dope jams… thank you, sir!

[LCN109]

Mescalibur

“The Dark Side Of The Wonderland”

The necrophile hummingbird & Hamfuggi Records present a marvellous journey on the Dark Side Of Wonderland by Mescalibur.
Alice trip has been revisited many time, from the Jan Švankmajer’s Alice to the Jeff Noon’s Vurt… it’s always very psychedelic… but this time it’s the dark side… then perhaps the rabbit hole is actually more looking like Norman Spinrad LSD description in The Mind Game… you know like watching inside a bubble with the whole surface made in mirror. Some call also this kind of bubble a Eye Ball. I don’t know where you are know but take care, next to listen this, perhaps you will think that you are still in the same dimension… but I really don’t know… Sometime things are not what they seems. I wouldn’t spoil the end of your travel.

Mescalibur is here http://mescalibur.fr/ perhaps… the only one who knows that kind of answers.

“n-ary non-lineary”

The subtitle “Fugale Schemen” shows us the way into this acoustically unknown terrain. Like Shadows in the fog, sound events immediately appear and pass us by as we listen and continue to feel our way forward and dive deeper and deeper into this strange world of sound.

Irritation and fascination are close together here. There is a lot to discover, but whether and what lies at the end of the journey also depends on what we ourselves bring along. The more open and unprejudiced we are in getting involved with the unknown, the other, the more enriching our experiences in this foreign terrain will be.

Wait for tomorrow is the second release by Ron Zakrin on Equal Recordings. This time around, Zakrin piled on the tracks to make a seamless LP worthy of some deep listening. Following a couple of challenging years filled with loss and injury, Zakrin brings to bear the tools of experience required to convey the ebb and flow of life- from the light hearted Italo arcade anthem “Burgertime” to the scowling, fuck all anarchism of “Storm the Ramparts”, Zakrin delivers a 12 track ride through a sonic environment that will move you physically and emotionally.

Tomoroh Hidari –

Tomoroh Hidari –
[mhrk248]

Tomoroh Hidari

“小さな夢達”

This is Tomoroh Hidari (Ivory Bunker Records, Record Label Records, Isolate Records) first new album since 2012’s Some Stars not yet Black Holes, featuring tracks mostly composed over the last 2 or three years, with 1 or 2 going back even further.
Its texture is composed of a mix of field recordings, samples, lush synth pads and heavy basses and intricate beats; while guitars, melodica, toy and Theremin – all played by Hidarisan himself – also make an appearance.

Sword of no Sword
空 (read: ku – meaning: emptiness. In the Buddhist/Zen meaning)
Owl-Stretching Time
秋 (read: aki – meaning: autumn)
A Temple in Yamagata Prefecture)
Sketches of Pain

(Chiisana Yumetachi) – translates as “Small Dreams”: In a world where we’re constantly told to dream big, it is about the Zen of the moment. It is about observing our thoughts and dreams: letting them come and go, rather than chasing after them.
The songs themselves are little vignettes, dealing with Zen (空/Ku) and Samurai philosophy (Sword of No-Sword – inspired by Miyamoto Musashi’s Book of 5 Rings), absurdism (Owl-Stretching Time), cats (猫ホップ/Nekohop), memories (山寺/Yamadera) and finish with a farewell to melancholy (Sketches of Pain).

Review:

SMOK – Brain Damage

Who is behind this curious musical project called SMOK? It is a question I made to myself a couple of years ago after listening to a collab between Andrés and Nicolás (a.k.a Slang). Time has passed and I have discovered that this curiousity comes from Andrés, who is music studious and part of the new generation of producers from Quinta Región. Brain Damage is the result of his curiosity. Accelerated beats, bass drums, violent boxes and acid basses; a sharp chaos which is tidied up within mysterious and obscure melodies. An album that brings me back to the 90’s and spotting strong influences of the electro, such as Underground Resistance, Drexciya, Aux88, or Radioactive Man, among others. Nineties reminiscence that mixes technological advance and that succeeds in locating us nowadays, thus giving life to an album which treasures the origins of the electro-techno, but at the same time adapts perfectly to the present.

SMOK – Brain Damage
