about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Alejandro Remeseiro

“Storm”

Alejandro Remeseiro is a musician and sound artist born in Spain in 1980. Since the year 2003 he has released 30 albums under different names, such as Elias Falken, Thanatorium, Eemian, Prowano Prosper, and The Advanced Antennas. But he his best known in the world of net-labels because of “Konsumprodukt”, a music project which he has released 12 albums. Alejandro has a degree in History and from 5 years ago is investigating the historical aspects of propaganda and sound, the human relations related to conflicts, as well as issues concerning the electroacoustic composition, and boundaries between the listener and the listened work. The aim of his audio works is to create a feeling, a sensation, something that moves and is thought-provoking in the people who listen. His latest sound work, “Storm” is an experimental narrative about the fear of loss, the idea of danger, and control messages. This work is an electroacoustic music project about the Tropical Storm called “Sandy”, which hit the east coast of the United States in October 2012. It is a metaphor about the fear of losing everything that people have, about the fear of death, control messages and disaster prevention. I used the audio of “Civil Defense Alert System” of the United States that could be hearded live during the days that the storm Sandy affected the area of the U.S. East Coast, to build electroacoustic “images” that drives the listener to the sensation of people had during the days of the storm, with the aim of transporting them to situations that not many people faced in their lives.

“twists”

jim lace and alex nova used to be in onyx system. but then onyx system stopped. so they used an electric guitar, a roland rs-09, an arturia minibrute, a korg wavedrum, a vocoder, a nord lead, an alesis sr-16, and hooves to make a few more songs under their own names.

prog sense. paranormal science fiction vein. story telling. lovely creature afraid to die. stargate. a lover in her hair. afterlife. a man, a broom, the devils. the sound is: late night roxy sleaze, satellite machine cuisine robot synth croon and traces of meditative frippinalia.

Infecticide – Chansons Tristes

Infecticide – Chansons Tristes
D!HR-24

Infecticide

“Chansons Tristes”

For its 24th release, Da! Heard It Records indulges in a wild irony doped with the borne absurdity of the three Infecticide trolls. With “Chansons Tristes” (“Sad Songs”), the trio proposes a first album, impossible to classify according to any musical catalog.

As an anthology of a five-year infected epic, “Chansons Tristes” takes us through the whims of its cold rhythms, distended synths, hopping basses, and crude and dirty riffs—a rare and jarring mix carried by a remarkable attention, where voice, keyboard, drums, and electric guitar harmonize to create a peculiarly offsetting universe.

Fifteen pieces with neo-Dadaist lyrics will leave speechless all spirit unable to go beyond the first degree and enrapture personalities in a displacing way. With its soft references to Liaisons Dangereuses, Detroit Grand Pubahs, or Front 242, the production’s finesse will caress the pointiest ears all the whilst (festively) readjusting the pointiest hats—dark and festive humor thus serving serious matters.

In addition to excelling in the production of these aural jewels dotted with electro-punk-wave sonorities, the three Infecticide lads distinguish themselves even more with their scenic presence (and cosmic costumes), which will motivate the jaded and depressed nobody in the back of the room to come closer to the stage and exchange sweat and liberating cries. Cathartic.

“Chansons Tristes,” Da ! Heard It Records’ 24th release is distributed under Creative Commons license BY-NC-ND. The album may be downloaded at the following address: http://www.daheardit-records.net/en/discography/dhr-24

Koncrete Roots – Dub ina Midlands

Koncrete Roots – Dub ina Midlands

Koncrete Roots

“Dub ina Midlands”

The year 2014 starts with some new dubophonic heights with Koncrete Roots, a one man project by Thomas Kenney from Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England.

>From an early age Thomas would listen to a huge amount of music though he would always favour the sounds of Ska and Reggae. Music was always in his blood and he began producing back in 2004 under a different name. The music he was making at the time was a reflection of the scene around him; hip hop and grime. It wasn’t until later in life, when he was introduced to (and fell in love with) Dub music, that he started to take his own music seriously and started to develop his own sound and style.

Koncrete Roots’ style can be described as a deeply rooted dub sound with a modern day steppa twist. This twist makes all the difference and gives an electro dubness to their traditional rootical sound introducing some great vibes to the massive, entering into the new year.

>From the meditative “River Jordan” to the rootical electro steppas like ‘Inity Step” and “Sound Killah”, Koncrete Roots deliver their message of dubness and irieness into the year 2014. Not withstanding his versions of two old time classics, the UK producer seems like a sound warrior, armed with deep basslines and organic melodies like in “Universal dub”, marching to destroy Babylon on his way to Zion.

“Dissonance”

Finally after months of organising and collecting submissions, the Kahvi VA for 2013 is here. And as its a special compilation, we’re putting it out as the Christmas release for 2013 also. You’ve got a huge amount of styles and artists on this years VA, from 32 tracks combined to over 2.5 hours of quality music. Be warned that the download is hefty at 500MB for the MP3 version, and the podcast is over 350MB itself.

Artists found on this years VA include some Kahvi regulars including Brioskj, 4T Thieves, Polaski, MigloJE, Madstyle and Acrilic Colours and a lot of guest artists bringing some very interesting flavours to the mix. There are ambient tracks along with retro beat driven acid, something for everybody. We hope you enjoy this years VA, and remember the other Christmas releases from 4T Thieves and Reii released last week.

Tracks of choice are too many to mention but for something really refreshing check out Serhio Efremis – Mystery for a real taste of Russia.

Merry Christmas from all at Kahvi!

“The city without sun”

“The City Without Sun” is a concept album of instrumental electronic music. An ideal soundtrack for the kid’s novel by Michel Grimaud ‘La ville sans soleil’. A French novel of the 70s, which in the post ’68 era, tell us about of a group of teenager activists against the pollution of their ‘city without sun’ by an unscrupulous local squire.A book that still has not lost his, though simplistic, message of rebellion and hope. A book to be known, to be implemented, to not forget.
