about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Drehton

“ini”

Phonocake-Artist Drehton moves the knobs and keys to the next experimental level. With references to trance, IDM, techno and now and then dub, he shapes the sound of a hyperworld: full of jumps, speed, variety, intensity, clear superabundance. This is where the control takes place, this is where the chips glow. Full of details this HiTekk Electronica purrs full of longing in the metropolis of chip design sound.

The 21st century replaces any category concept of ours. The concepts blur and exceed conventions through freer expression. Freed from any category corset, Drehton presents new experiments in tempo, arpeggio & melody, in its very own sound and recognizable style. Partly the stuff is insanely experimental, especially the first tracks. They tempt us to brain explosions that dissolve Koan like. From song 8 it gets a bit straigther.

BOGUE x LIGH TN ING – MOLD
[IG35]

BOGUE x LIGH TN ING

“MOLD”

This story is about how we got the opportunity to assess the level of moral decay of the Internet society first hand. The soundtrack for the show, which you will watch a second before the neutron burst turns your body into a shadow.
All that remains after you is just irrational hate in anonymous posts, stingy playlists and collections of saves.
You will see pictures of the decaying and self-destructive mass culture of the future, in which our creative process, like mold, is patiently growing and gaining critical mass

Manu Louis – Coltan Major Harmonics

Manu Louis – Coltan Major Harmonics

Manu Louis

“Coltan Major Harmonics”

Coltan Major Harmonics is a two tracks 7’’ by Manu Louis, which also features in an interactive Installation by Escif at MIMA Brussels.
On track A, Coltan and his catchy bass line features a cocktail of London singer Heidi Heidelberg and Manu’s voice in a groovy and outrageous song about the precious mineral. The music uses only the original material composed by Manu for Escif’s interactive installation.

Escif is a street artist based in Valencia , Spain. His imaginative works have captured a large audience that follows his work progress. He sees the painting as an exercise of reflection that can be shared with people. He does not look for decorative paintings, he mostly tries to wake up viewers’ minds.
In October 2019, Bansky and Escif made a collaboration with about a hand made tool with a happy ending makes a fine decorative companion to the fireside or radiator.

Molez – One Remark

Molez – One Remark

Molez

“One Remark”

After years of experimenting with generative sounds, sonificated timbre, unusual percussion and unique atmosphere, Molez made a backtrack to his musical roots with “One Remark“. He crossed his 2 favorite styles: techstep drum&bass and glitch-hop, trying to put sci-fi nature into a slower tempo but still maintaining the energy of the dancefloor.

Point

“Human Music”

Point’s (GER) album, Human Music, is undefinable. It’s a lesson in sound design, expressively presented as a new breed of intelligent dance music. Its warm, rich and supple analogue textures will immediately engage you while meshing you between ripples of hybrid genres. Compositionally, it carefully progresses into symphonies of sombre etherealness then morphs into pronounced primordial rhythms. His third LP is a veracious nourishment of the soul and will have you feeling like you are standing on the edge of the earth.

The Cherry Blues Project

“Mientras todo está Sucediendo”

ambient tributes

“Mientras todo está sucediendo” (“Meanwhile, Everything is Happening”)

We composed and created this album between April and September 2019, but we came up with the concept several years ago. The idea was to include ambiental pieces and associate them with well known songs, but only the titles. Even though it may seem otherwise, all the songs are ours. No covers at all. We just got inspired by the life and works of artists like John Lennon, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Pink Floyd or David Bowie. They left a mark not only musically, but as people, with their actions and thoughts, and we created and “dedicated” these soundscapes to them.

“You could live inside or outside the box, but meanwhile, everything is happening”

Oscar Santis – Tercer Vertice

Oscar Santis – Tercer Vertice

Oscar Santis

“Tercer Vertice”

OVERVIEW:

The album “Tercer Vértice” (Third Vertex) is the closing of a trilogy started with “Desde la Caja” (From the Box)
which was released by Pueblo Nuevo in 2016. The second part “Tides of Continental Plate” was published in 2017 by the Canadian label Oral records under the management of Eric Mattson.

These three works are a gradual evolution from the preferential use of digital tools and the computer to a generation of sound dominated by analog elements, even though both of these worlds remain present. They were recorded in a relatively consecutive period of time, although during a period of change in sonic conception. They are three ways of looking at the same place with varying the point of views.

Monplaisir

“Un jour je saurai”

A delicately lo-fi offering beaming in from the banlieues of Paris. This sequence of free-improvisational drones and dark chamber pieces seem to be channeling haunted memories of the fin de siècle via a dusty apartment mirror: wintry, intimate, and melancholic.

Rene Kita – Octet

Rene Kita

“Octet”

This album is dedicated to the moment I stopped screaming at the Octatrack manual and watched a bunch of instruction videos on Youtube instead.
So, my thanks to Cuckoo, Ron Cavagnaro, Max Marco, Loopop, Ricky Tinez, André Neumann, Kenny Zhao and Dataline.

Apparently many people use this to make dance music. I found that you can give each of the eight tracks a different time signature, so these wobble along in a decidedly unstable manner. You might need to get drunk to dance to it…

Baltazar – Abstrakthas

Baltazar – Abstrakthas
[pn146]

Baltazar

“Abstrakthas”

“‘Abstrakthas’ by the Cuban artist Baltazár, is a work that was published independently in 2009, and which now
sees the light of a label release for the first time.

A mix between the classical, the digital, music concréte, architecture, voices and endless possibilities, all of
them modulated by infinite reverberations that merge as the tracks develop, with sounds that oscillate in all
directions while delivering an overwhelming listening experience.

In its composition, the album ‘Abstrakthas’ uses the violin as a conductive thread that pulls the different
works of the publication together into a melancholic story that, in some way or another, incites a deep
reflection on the various sounds that are revealed as the work progresses, playing with the mood perception and
delivering a wide range of sensations.

Recorded mostly as independent stereo tracks, which are subsequently superimposed with the purpose of realizing
a maticulous and patient sonic construction, based on the sonic blocks resulting from these recordings,
‘Abstrakthas’ is also the first chapter of the larger work ‘bordermuzak’, which collects all the artist’s
works from 1999 to 2016. It should be noted, however, that ‘bordermuzak’ does not compile the works
chronologically but rather as chapters of a novel written over the years.”
