about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Oscar Santis

“Tercer Vertice”

OVERVIEW:

The album “Tercer Vértice” (Third Vertex) is the closing of a trilogy started with “Desde la Caja” (From the Box)
which was released by Pueblo Nuevo in 2016. The second part “Tides of Continental Plate” was published in 2017 by the Canadian label Oral records under the management of Eric Mattson.

These three works are a gradual evolution from the preferential use of digital tools and the computer to a generation of sound dominated by analog elements, even though both of these worlds remain present. They were recorded in a relatively consecutive period of time, although during a period of change in sonic conception. They are three ways of looking at the same place with varying the point of views.

Monplaisir

“Un jour je saurai”

A delicately lo-fi offering beaming in from the banlieues of Paris. This sequence of free-improvisational drones and dark chamber pieces seem to be channeling haunted memories of the fin de siècle via a dusty apartment mirror: wintry, intimate, and melancholic.

Rene Kita

“Octet”

This album is dedicated to the moment I stopped screaming at the Octatrack manual and watched a bunch of instruction videos on Youtube instead.
So, my thanks to Cuckoo, Ron Cavagnaro, Max Marco, Loopop, Ricky Tinez, André Neumann, Kenny Zhao and Dataline.

Apparently many people use this to make dance music. I found that you can give each of the eight tracks a different time signature, so these wobble along in a decidedly unstable manner. You might need to get drunk to dance to it…

Baltazar – Abstrakthas

Baltazar – Abstrakthas
[pn146]

Baltazar

“Abstrakthas”

“‘Abstrakthas’ by the Cuban artist Baltazár, is a work that was published independently in 2009, and which now
sees the light of a label release for the first time.

A mix between the classical, the digital, music concréte, architecture, voices and endless possibilities, all of
them modulated by infinite reverberations that merge as the tracks develop, with sounds that oscillate in all
directions while delivering an overwhelming listening experience.

In its composition, the album ‘Abstrakthas’ uses the violin as a conductive thread that pulls the different
works of the publication together into a melancholic story that, in some way or another, incites a deep
reflection on the various sounds that are revealed as the work progresses, playing with the mood perception and
delivering a wide range of sensations.

Recorded mostly as independent stereo tracks, which are subsequently superimposed with the purpose of realizing
a maticulous and patient sonic construction, based on the sonic blocks resulting from these recordings,
‘Abstrakthas’ is also the first chapter of the larger work ‘bordermuzak’, which collects all the artist’s
works from 1999 to 2016. It should be noted, however, that ‘bordermuzak’ does not compile the works
chronologically but rather as chapters of a novel written over the years.”

Ultramerda

“Plastika”

The parental advisory’s warning, is no longer used today. the language of everyday life has broken the glass of censorship in the face of mothers against rock.

However Plastika would not need any stamp: your ears are ready to swallow this poet ante litteram that chews digital hardcore, cantautore and do it yourself. Proudly self-produced in everything from texts to recording.

Plastika are 12 tracks of a continuous loading and unloading of energy, in the form of syncopated shots and more intimate and rarefied passages.

Approved with the stamp by In Your Ears Netlabel.

Number Eleven – Resistance

Number Eleven – Resistance
[EEM050]

Number Eleven

“Resistance”

A system created to analyze reality and perception got its inputs removed because it was going out of control. This fix damaged the reality by feedbacking the system on its repercussions causing incorrect analysis until the dream of reality became a stream of negative numbers. The resistance against the system was initiated to prevent it from corrupting the perception of reality, even though, it was already shaping the perception the way it wanted to, because the reality did not favour the system.

Broken and syncopated stream of percussive attack, punching through disharmonic leftovers in reverberation, not welcoming you at all by constantly reminding of its continuously corrupting state.

Jean Ray – Le Refuge

Jean Ray – Le Refuge
[at100]

Jean Ray

“Le Refuge”

Jean Ray is the sound project of pluridisciplinary artist Romain Arnette, based in Paris and initially formed in London in 2009.

Experimentation is at the heart of his creative process. He uses different instruments such as guitar, harmonica, percussions, also fields recordings to create a bank of textures and sounds that he transforms and manipulates. The superposition of these fragments combined with electronic sound sources and some software such as pool creates minimalist compositions, an enveloping sound mass where repetitive structures meet sometimes abstract rhythms.

“Le Refuge” album was composed at the end of a two-years stay in Canada, from 2017 to 2019. This album is marked by several isolation experiments in various natural environments, during his crossing of Canada from east to the west by the road.

It also reflects the gradual slowing down of time that allowed him to observe more precisely the environment in which he has evolved, and brought him to moments of deeper introspections.

All tracks recorded and mixed by Jean Ray.

Mastering by Jan Wysozky.

“Replika”

“The daily world exists only because we know how to hold its images.” – Carlos Castaneda ©

This album was written over a two-year period with a great amount of effort and psychological experiences, inner turmoil – I understood that I was falling into an abyss with no bottom… no bottom…

“Replika” offers many doors to other dimensions, to other universes, and to other worlds. This is the starting point of an endless journey through the secrets of the universe, where each track is a separate journey through different worlds.

This album was recorded using analog and digital synthesis with instruments such as KORG PROPHESY, KORG M3, and KORG-Z1.

Globoscuro – Morphism of a Dream (Anthology)

Globoscuro – Morphism of a Dream (Anthology)
[enrmp442]

Globoscuro

“Morphism of a Dream (Anthology)”

This anthology album was conceived by the founder of the project Emiliano Pietrini as a portrait of Globoscuro’s sonic path that crosses, through visionary flows and heterogeneous architectures, the river of time floating from 2001 to 2018 condensed into 3 CDs for a total of 42 tracks. The auditory experiences shrouded in it are ranging from dark ambient to the most heinous noise, crossing the musique concréte while circumnavigating a certain kind of abstract psychedelic as a reflection of a complex artistic personality in constant evolution and growth which never sees points of arrival but always new and eclectic departures towards its own indefinable individuality. The anthology also contains tracks composed in collaboration with other wonderful artists such as Ángel Sánchez Cervera aka Braghsdn, Cousin Silas, Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt, Nina Maroccolo, Lutz Thuns, Øystein Jørgensen and Peter Wullen as well as interventions by other artists and friends especially in the recitative and vowels parts such as Imi Enzyme aka Mach feedback, Ilaria Fierro, Una Lee and Serena Zingoni. The overall sound approach reflects Globoscuro’s “modus operandi” by presenting compositions of concrete and analog preponderance in which instruments such as piano, guitar, bass, synth, theremin, violin and many others non-existent tools built with bare hands merge with rarefied veins of melodies (or even better anti-melodies) of digital nature. The multiple textures allow for highly dissonant threads to be interwoven into the shape of an oneiric electro-acoustic symphony built on surrealist abstractions yet so immersed into the incandescent lava of an emotional tangiblity that seems shaped by the clay of life itlself. The anthology also contains tracks never released before and originally composed for videos or poems of artists and friends Maria Korporal, Pinina Podestà, István Horkay, Maria Grazia Galatà, Isabel Pérez Del Pulgar, Roli Hope Odeka and Faraòn Meteosès.
