Poborsk makes his Crazy-Language debut with a very special sensory release for us the listeners and to the producer himself. These seven crisp constantly shifting artefacts are the result of a multitude of live tracks, reworked here for cozy home listening, from when the producer opened a gig in Lyon for the legendary Autechre. The giddy excitement is palpable on the craftsmanship present on each song, not only recollecting the Manchester based duo’s latest atonal journeys but with the rhythmic balance and jiggly synth work, trademark of Poborsk’s varied discography. It’s hard not to get up and start contorting your body onto odd angles with bangers such as Docteur Flanger or Collapse.

As is tradition with Crazy-Language’s latest outputs, this release contains 3 very methodical video pieces that seem to clash perfectly with the pristine nature of the audio journey. These glitched, heavily erratic pieces are the contrast needed to bring everything full circle. Or in Poborsk’s case full Euclidean. (FG)

I don’t usually work on something right after I release a project. But Veteran was the first time in my life I worked hard on something, and it was reciprocated back to me. So I wanted thank my people. And make an album that I put my my whole body into, as in all of me. All sides of Me baby. Not just a few. This the most ME album I’ve ever made in my life, Im trying to give y’all niggas a warm album you can live in and take a nap in maybe start a family and buy some Apple Jacks to. I’ve removed restrictions from my head and freed myself of doubt musically. I would have removed half this shit before but naw fuck it. Y’all catching every bit of this basic bitch tear gas. Created for a love of all that is Dark Ambient, British Electronic producer Tony Young (Autoclav1.1) and German Industrial/Noise powerhouse Andreas Davids (xotox); first bore fruits of their labour, with their self-titled, monolithic debut in 2018.

2019, continues the story with “Second”. A new chapter of colossal, brooding ambient; where light is slowly crushed by shade, within a multi-faceted arena of sound.

From the nightmarish journey through dying forests and the ruined vestiges of humanity depicted in their debut; the path now leads across desolate moorland and hilltops to the coast. The sea levels are now rising; and we have to face the inevitable, that all will be consumed.

Once more, Natura Est have produced an album that stands tall within the genre; holding an aural mirror to the world, provoking one question. Nature is all, all is nature; but who really is the beast?

“Frozen Journeys”

Under the Podarces pseudonym Benoît Rouits (who also plays oboe in Jukpic ) creates experimental improvised music with keyboards. Last year he made us discover one of his old works : “A Frozen Journey”, made in 2009 with virtual synthesizers and inspired by some writings of Philip K. Dick. We enjoyed this album a lot and although it undoubtedly stands on its own we felt its minimalist abstraction could make it a very interesting material to incorporate in new works. We made this suggestion to Benoît and some other collaborators and aquaintances who agreed and accepted to contribute remixes of what is now called “Frozen Journeys”, featuring the original tracks as well as remixes by Humanfobia, Human Koala, Nina Kardec, Anastatsia Vronski, Kecap Tuyul, Nicolas Tourney, Sig Valax, Filmy Ghost, Yann Pillas, Thomas Park, Luciftias, Doedelzak.

“Trois Prises”

z(xW+yV) is a solo project of Kecap Tuyul started spring 2018 while experimenting different ways to generate low volume feedback with small gear. After some tries with one contact microphone and one 1W battery-powered amplifier he developped a modular system on this basis, in order to generate not only feedback, but also feedback of feedback, and feedback of feedback of feedback (…) by chaining amps and microphones in a circular way that blurs more and more the distinction between sound source and sound’s reproduction, between acoustic musical instruments and electronic sound diffusion.

Unlike its first album 3×2(1W+18V) whose 3 pieces where mixes of 2 improvisations, Trois Prises features only raw improvisations played on more complex versions of the set-up (with 3 or 4 amplifiers). Track 1 & 3 contain no edits, track 2 was edited from a longer improvisation.
