about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, 28.1.2026

Hello, I have made a few changes to the site. Unfortunately, I am not quite finished yet, but it should continue without interruption. I hope you find the changes useful. Stay tuned. Konrad

This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms. This license is often compared to “copyleft” free and open source software licenses. All new works based on yours will carry the same license, so any derivatives will also allow commercial use. This is the license used by Wikipedia, and is recommended for materials that would benefit from incorporating content from Wikipedia and similarly licensed projects.

AFM

“Lonely Streets”

Dominik Vogel – Emails from my Future Self

Dominik Vogel – Emails from my Future Self
[Wuerfel33]

Dominik Vogel

“Emails from my Future Self”

A new album, then. Seemingly casually screwed together from the wrist. Dominik doesn’t make many words about it:

“The tracks are (as usual) one-take recordings of the modular system, partly also with generative elements.
Often carried by 2 modular CS-80 voices and almost beatless, the tracks on this album are rather minimalistic, emotional and intimate.”

This description is technically accurate, but of course does not do justice at all to the monumental sound and sense spaces of his music. It’s about as if a Cologne resident would say, “Yes, and at Roncalliplatz there’s a big church, quite a lot of stones were laid for it.”

And indeed, Dominik Vogel’s tracks are surrounded by a certain sacral air. On the one hand, because they come along carried and in places dissolving in long reverb tails. On the other hand, because all the titles can be understood as small, spiritual impulses. If you want to.

Of course, you can also simply enjoy the whole thing as ingenious sound play and not be misled by the titles. And yet we have the well-founded suspicion that there must be more than we initially want to perceive.

Great art always holds a secret.

08080 – Astro Disco

08080 – Astro Disco
[KAM054]

08080

“Astro Disco”

08080 (Jure Anžiček) moves us into an extraterrestrial discotheque with a simple decision to emphasize the linear composition of individual pieces of this short and thematically rounded discographic debut.

Marked by the schism of the memory of high-energy rave vibes and the melancholy intoxication of the fullness of sound (a duality that is most likely a result of the unusual times in which this collection was created), the tracks seep through us as a string of five turbulent inquiries into how to expand both the composition and the sound arena. And while the sequence loop and/or the drone still run the show, their complaisance to the prescribed topos is nevertheless surrendered to the sovereignty of the wider musical dictum.

If the album is above all a meditation on the sound material, always fresh camouflages of already built vocabularies and their new permutations through dispersal across the sound space, 08080’s debut is convincing chiefly because of the reflection on the form of both the elements and the whole, which invite to attentive listening rather than to the dancefloor.

Whether it is the introductory manipulation of the texture, the chopped up synth grooves or the emergence of a noise bass theme, this is true also when we let ourselves move to the march that very early on immerses us into a morning club ecstasy only to thwart the new dopamine rush at the repeated command and shift us towards the calmer sound of the acoustic guitar. Astro Disco leaves us pinned to an unsafe ground, calling to joy and reflections, with which the Earth will – accompanied by 08080’s thick bass frequencies – dance with the stars night and day.

Blacky Daylight – The Noon Era

Blacky Daylight – The Noon Era
[USC-RM-2107.0057]

Blacky Daylight

“The Noon Era”

The path to truth is thorny, passing through the palisade of mistakes and dead ends. In the old days, the people themselves became an obstacle in the way of scientific knowledge – the conservative blinkered masses, led by the blinded by religion mighty of this world. Teachings questioning God’s spark and giving a natural scientific interpretation had a high chance of being declared heresy with fatal consequences for the founders. Wandering dissolutely in the labyrinth of thoughts, scientists of the past moved by touch, mixing the scientific worldview with the occult in search of true meanings. The Church then possessed full power and law, thus the theological view of the essence of being was the defining criterion of Universal acceptance. For any phenomenon and confluence of circumstances, basically, should be interpreted as a divine plan. So, born in gloomy palaces, the Science of the Name of the Lord God revealed the impossible alchemy of holy faith and exact sciences, determining for a millennium ahead the fate of the Civilization of Noon.

Callejas – Páramo

Callejas – Páramo
[MNF041]

Callejas

Cairo Braga – Ultimatum / Imediatum

Cairo Braga – Ultimatum / Imediatum

Cairo Braga

“Ultimatum / Imediatum”

This little diptych was made from scratch between 12/07/2021 at 23h00 and 13/07/2021 at 23h, specifically to be released as part of Netlabel Day 2021. Visit netlabelday.com to know more and listen to hundreds of new songs, all available freely under Creative Commons licenses and released by netlabels.

This release is very important to me because it represents the end of a severe writer’s block caused by trauma, because it is the last ever official release on the netlabel I founded, Elegant Elephant, which is ending operations, and because this is my pandemic record.

Hope you enjoy it and spread the word! Don’t forget to tell me what you think about it, feedback is greatly appreciated.

I also have an up-and-coming Patreon page at patreon.com/cairobraga and I will be posting exclusive material from this release there, so don’t miss out, join me there. :D

Fields Ohio – Litha

Fields Ohio – Litha

Fields Ohio

“Litha”

While searching for the light that kills the bacteria
they found a light that reprograms the cells,
a light that rewrites the souls,
and a light that travels nowhere
except it’s everywhere.

And while they were at it
they had to consider proportionate
quantum integers that existed
on the other
side of the worm hole,
-)))That swirling mass that spins faster
than the speed of any light
so quickened by madness at onehundred&eightysevenmillionmilespersecond that it traps
light and anything else in sight
in order to deconstruct, to pull a part the atoms and reconfigure,
like the mouth of Pluto
sucking our dear Persephone into the crust
into the depths of the earth itself,
the blackness was all consuming
til her mother scorched the soil with revenge
and Pluto freed her but with some leverage
to bring life back and repair the burns and then in winter she returns.
Her sacred release brings our pomegranate
lips that yearned for Spring bliss,
a well intact rite of atonement
earned in the winter drifts for those who survive it.

So do the blackholes too transform and release the
light to some flipped compartment of space and time?
Do the particles ride through and bring light to
another side?
These were the questions they began to ask
as humanity looked back with a vast flabbergast,
they had exacerbated the fresh water which all life has a constant need,
the land became void of air giving trees,
all beginning with the lust for greed.
But we have not done this, you and I nor my neighbor down the street,
How can we be held responsible for changing the way we all see?
And then as though a light bulb had gone off above them,
everything clicked. Our old ways must be swallowed by generations
who detest the exploitation of the needy. The future is only foreboding if we allow for
the greedy to succeed.
The darkness must transform the light and in this yinyang eddy
they found their peace.

dvidevat x Nulla – 068/078-1

dvidevat x Nulla – 068/078-1

dvidevat x Nulla

“068/078-1”

“Inspiration found between four walls: a new and exciting package of electronic music on a split digital release of two young music producers”

dvidevat and Nulla are among the youngest Ljubljana-based electronic producers. Electronic music culture is what drives them: they both started as DJs, researching different types of electronic and non-electronic music and DJing in many clubs in Ljubljana, and both evolved their listening skills as electronic music producers through institutional and mostly non-institutional education. The split digital release 068/078-1 presents their first longer music work and unveils their musical influences, which inspire them again and again and give them the drive to re-enter the four walls of their studios and their favourite clubs.

The split digital release seems to be a one-piece album, but attentive listeners will find a clear line between the two prominent electronic artists. The joint release may paint their music similar, but it also shows their differences. Where dvidevat tends to develop the sound of the Detroit old-school electro and short but memorable melodies, Nulla progresses with darker UK experimental electro with a touch of breaks, IDM and bleep. It’s clear that they… more
