about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

The Caretaker – Everywhere, an empty bliss

The Caretaker

“Everywhere, an empty bliss “

*AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ONLY UNTIL JUNE 16th, 2019.

Work on ‘Everywhere, at the end of time’ was all consuming
as you can imagine. All work and no play, all work and no play.

In celebration of its completion and only for a limited time*
here is a surprise golden farewell.

Compliments of the house.

Offering you one last chance to raise a charged glass for
those we lost along the way, for all the works, for those ghosts
from our past, for our uncertain future and for The Caretaker.

You are of course welcome to purchase me a drink if you find
this work to be of personal value.

As the old saying goes “I’m the type of guy who likes to know
who’s buying their drinks, Lloyd.”

Thanks eternally for your support.

C’est fini.

z(xW+yV) – 3×2(1W+18V)

z(xW+yV) – 3×2(1W+18V)
[Eg0_202]

z(xW+yV)

“3×2(1W+18V)”

z(xW+yW) is a solo project of Kecap Tuyul started spring 2018 while experimenting different ways to generate low volume feedback with small gear : for instance with one contact microphone and one 1W battery-powered amplifier. It was initially thought as lo-fi version of the “Failure Circle” project work with chaotic feedback system of the no-input mixer in a more portable way, but finally took a quite different direction, with a more tactile & acoustic dimension.

3×2(1W+18V) is the first published album of this project. It was recorded in june 2018 with lo-fi means (cell phone and a cheap digital recorder). Each track is a mix of two improvisations played with the most primitive form of z(xW+yV) : one contact microphone, one 1W battery-powered amplifier and two guitar effects (overdrive and equalization).

Go Ask Alice

“Go Ask Alice – Ten little dreams (and one bonus nightmare)”

Humankind has always looked to the stars as its own destiny. For this reason, indefatigable and willful, it has always climbed the highest peaks to get as close as possible. It knows that this is impossible, but it has the courage to try the same. This is written in the sign: the capricorn.

Csum – Anaerobica

Csum – Anaerobica
[COTA016]

Csum

“Anaerobica”

Broken, glitchy, dynamic, rhythmic, somewhere chaotic sounds combined with catchy techno genetic emotional melodies. This is only one subjective way to describe this new album, where Csum uses his own experimental music language to tell fantastic abstract musical stories. Hit “play” if want to cheer up.

M.A.K.T. Sono – 11 Songs

M.A.K.T. Sono – 11 Songs
[Eg0_201]

M.A.K.T. Sono

“11 Songs”

M.A.K.T. Sono (Magali Albespy and Kecap Tuyul)’s second album « 11 songs » is made of selected and edited improvisations recorded during the “M.A.K.T. Sono (sans sono)” residency at Le Magasin – Laboratoire de permanence chorégraphique (Mathieu Heyraud) – Saint-Etienne – November 4-9 2018.
Since their beginnings in February 2018 the duo has been working with modular set-ups that are likely to provoke unstable situations (like the soundbox, analog synthesizer and no-input mixer used in their first album “If you were a clarinet”). This time they played with microphones, voices, analog synthesizers, and small battery-powered amplifiers, forming a modular set-up whose elements can be interconnected in various ways. They also experimented the integration of some song-material in their improvisations.

bolus – perceived redness of an evening sky

bolus – perceived redness of an evening sky
[EEM044]

bolus

“perceived redness of an evening sky”

Qualia is ‘an unfamiliar term for something that could not be more familiar to us: the way things seem to us’, such as the perceived redness of an evening sky – it cannot be put into words. These compositions are an attempt to describe a space in the artist’s mind, a three dimensional region of emotion and feeling influenced by a fleeting yet intense period of saudade – an indescribable longing for something one never had.

Dafna Naphtali and Hans Tammen

“Mechanique(s) Fenestrae”

MECHANIQUE(S)

Dafna Naphtali – live sound processing & voice
Hans Tammen – endangered guitar

Mechanique(s) is the New York-based duo of Dafna Naphtali and Hans Tammen — live computer-based electronics and audio processing, endangered guitar and voice. In their active collaboration since 1998, the duo probes and playfully undermines the overlap of various elements of their technical and aesthetic practices. With Naphtali’s interactive processed sound/noise system and 4-octave vocal range, and Tammen’s mechanical and energetic laptop manipulations of modified guitars, the duo sets out on a crazed collision course of the acoustic and the electronic – all along the route paying homage (in a twirl of the radio dial) to music concrete, free jazz and European improvised music, as well as the contemporary classical and all manner of non-Western musics.

This album is a live recording of a performance in Schenectady, NY in 2009. Zachary Seldess provided the live visuals processing, an image of which is used for the album design.

Nortas – AukÅ¡tai

Nortas – AukÅ¡tai
[EEM043]

Nortas

“Aukštai”

Aũkštai (“Floors”) is a result of how overthinking leads the mind to multiple directions while searching for answers in the surroundings. These 5 stories reflect on how the mind works in different situations, whether it’s a cup of coffee in the morning by the favourite clock ticking down the time of waiting, taking a dog for a walk with thoughts of self-doubt, or whether it’s stone-tied drowning in the sea of paralysed body cells.

Dreamlike walk through inner depths, as if you were walking on thick ice surrounded by misty void and could wake up any second. The sounds reflect a journey through grief, anxiety, finding peace in solitude.

Wolf Wrams – Quant Bunker

Wolf Wrams – Quant Bunker
[EEM042]

Wolf Wrams

“Quant Bunker”

Written using virtual machines controlled by haunting Taoist infernal dreams inspired hands. Driven by the awareness of the plaguing fact that the artist has to compete with others by implementing his own ideas, not attached to anything in particular but his mind only. Showing features of artist’s body, heart and soul while he’s being in a state of a magical drive. A theater of mashing abstractions sampled and processed ideas, where complex beats and smashing sounds emerge to evoke energy and will inside the listener’s mind.

Holorime – 2-cig

Holorime – 2-cig
[203560k359]

Holorime

“2-cig”

I’m a little high right now from the Oxynorm my oncologist prescribed me and I hope you get high on this short four track idm EP. It’s about cigarettes while I’m about morphine. But I was a heavy smoker until I stopped about a decade ago. This release reminds me of an Analogues Legacy EP I did with Aunderwex for Proc Rec, where our last track was called The Last 2 Cigarettes. It was named for the devastating fact that we only had two cigarettes left at that moment. Is there a similar story to this EP? Or a different one? Or none at all? I have no idea.
Holorime is a new project that started this year and this is the third release.
