Stillborn Blues‘ 3rd album (originally released on cd-r in 2010) has the same old typical style : plaintive melancholy, detuned guitars, lo-fi recording, awkward playing muffled by the abuse of reverb and delay – all the ingredients for a low-profile soundtrack for lazy dreamers and restless losers in need of a pretext for spending the day watching the ceiling. Now that the music is on you can close the curtains and go back in your bed.

Newest in the series of Toni Dimitrov’s collaborations is the album with the German artist Dominic Razlaff AKA DR. “Braunschweig Sessions” is the result from this collaboration, showing in front of the listener the infamous soundscapes of long form drone explorations of which DR is known for, merged with the subtle affection for field recordings infused ambience characteristic for Toni Dimitrov. Field recordings were provided by Toni Dimitrov, which are afterwards processed by DR, or layered with processed (granular synthesis) Ukulele and Synthesizer, arranged by both artists. Recorded on various destinations around Macedonian nature, this material is a reflection of a nice, subtle, calm and peaceful journey. With its ranges and spectrum from more subtle soundscapes to rawer and at times even unnerving sound experiments, this work is a direct presentation of the works of both artists, now connected in joint work. This is the first in the forthcoming series of collaborative works by these two prolific soundscape designers.

Following on from his slow burning self-released cassette “Unweather”, “lutra” is the first CD release by smallhaus (AKA South London based guitarist, electronicist, percussionist David Little). It expands his singular sound environment into a full-screen, full-colour and hugely enjoyable collection.
At times this almost feels like a tribute to the classic sounds of 70’s ambient – the choral textures, the infinite guitars, the synthesizers, but it’s done with a knowing wink and a contemporary layer of grit and dust. But mostly it’s an enveloping, immersive wash of precision moulded sound.

“Artificial Thoughts” is the first Zzy‘s album. The story of this album is about two different realities: the humanity and the machine revolution. In other words, this work criticizes “the modern society” and their addictions. Do humans control the machine or does the machine control humans?
The technological revolution an its progress seems to us unbreakable and doesn’t show signs of ending.
Will we all be dominated by the machine? Is this our end?
“Artificial Thoughts” is struggling with those questions that have no concrete answer. However, the future looks dangerous and THE HUMANITY has to make decisions to survive in this game, against the endless evolution of the machine.
