about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Alpha Rhytmika is a live project from Hungary, formed by 2 producers, Dj Grega and Scarface. Both of them are well-known techno djs in our country. They know each other for a long time, they played a lot of gigs together. Thye met back in 1999, when Dj Grega was resident in Hungary’s only techno club Supersonic Technikum. Scarface spent a lot of time in the club, and became shortly a member of sonic dj’s, and also Techno Mission party series, they toured in hungary with in 2002-2005. In 2010 Grega started this new project Alpha Rhytmika. Mostly using Korg gear on live shows and producing, thanks to a lot of practicing and live performances they have lots of own productions.

Ars Sonor – The Unborn

Ars Sonor – The Unborn
[ER052]

Ars Sonor

“The Unborn”

Remember, remember, the smoldering spiders embedded forever in your mind, you livers of life. We all have that spider don’t we? That creepy crawling nibbling at our thoughts, our stunted brain. Nightmares from the past. Awake or asleep, but especially asleep. Recall those dreams when you were young? That you thought were real and were indeed real. Those few nightmares whose images stick like ferocious adhesive. Perhaps they were loud, jarring blarings of pavor nocturnus in your ears in screams and crashes and booms, incessant and sourceless. The dreams that brought about our phobias, our regrets, our self immolation. The sleep paralysis, the waking terrors of the night. Perhaps you are immune to such ordeals, but for some they falter not, these unborn realities. What we have for you today at Effluvia, this smelly compost of miracles, is a masterpiece of dark ambiance. It is precotious in it’s unwavering beauty and profound precision. The execution is so vivid and refined and concentrated on one large idea of the inside breaking through and screaming into our listening ears. The brilliance of Ars Sonor, and I consider it an honor that she releases with us netlabelers, is her bona fide devotion to a truly emotionally thwarting excursion. This was the second full length album from this manifestation of Laetitia Schteinberg’s prolific and harrowing output, recorded in August 2011. It was available via itunes, but now both distributor & label are closed, so she has decided to make it available via (cc), God bless her! “In this album I explore a repeating nightmare, the climax of which is the milking of a terrifying spider in a huge cave-like tree-hollow. Expect a surreal, sometimes disturbing (always dark) soundscape.” Such a concept in itself suggests the inevitability of how truly far into the inner recesses of your mind these sounds burrow to, but your assumption will do it no justice. Through these sounds, you will have vivid snapshots of how these horrifying spectacles transpired, and to evoke such feelings is a gift handed only to prodigies. Claustrophobic, otherwordly, creepy, obsessive, I can go on and on, but you dreamers of dreams, you know these terrains for yourselves. I speak so ardently of this perhaps because it stirs up very personal feeling inside of Dishdawash, who is an avid dreamer and embracer of nightmaresWelcome back to the feeling, the nibbling of the spider upon that mind that has ridden your back like a witch.

Alister Flint

“Under The Surface”

“For my own part, I have never had a thought which I could not set down in words with even more distinctness than that with which I conceived it. There is, however, a class of fancies of exquisite delicacy which are not thoughts, and to which as yet I have found it absolutely impossible to adapt to language. These fancies arise in the soul, alas how rarely. Only at epochs of most intense tranquillity, when the bodily and mental health are in perfection. And at those weird points of time, where the confines of the waking world blend with the world of dreams. And so I captured this fancy, where all that we see, or seem, is but a dream within a dream.”

Claudio Nunez

“Nada es para todos”

“Nada es para todos” use the same procedures than my prior “orchestral albums” : piling up layers of overdubbed lines that I composed in real time as I play all the instrument with the spontaneus interaction tipically found in free jazz, without any prevous ideas about the melodies, rhythms, harmonies, styles, etc… The only exception is track 3 which is a collage of a melodica track cut in 3 parts and stack up like a fake counterpoint in the Frank Zappa’s xenocronicity style.” Claudio Nunez

tomas gris

“clarifications of the concept of object”

the first pyr release of 2012 is from tomas gris a free improviser based in madrid who is working on developing a sound language that combines his love of dada, art brut, and the cobra art movement with his interest in philosophy, semiotics and post-modernism. he performs alone and with ad hoc ensembles primarily playing reeds and amplified objects, but also incorporating various percussion and acoustic instruments into his pieces.

his first album for pan y rosas is a solo improvisation recorded in 2011 in which he plays alto saxophone, harps, cassette, and objects. throughout the piece he employs quietness and stillness; flutters, pops and breaths; cymbals and tones. his playing is deliberate and of the moment, without beginning or end. make sure to get it here.

Winterberg

“Clouds under the Bridges”

A cloud moving “unspectacularly beautiful”, surrounding the semicircular, close to the sickle shape, deeply glaring in the moon, pulling layers of purity in a mystical theatre of time traveling, sending the aetherical stream from India across Norway to Istanbul, in the obscure but not dark, but artificial and subtle, “both frightening and beautiful”(GH).

320kbps – january 2012
psy / dub / reggae / hardcore / gabba

tracklist:

01 – herb is a plant
02 – better call saul

total: (9:06)

review by magicore:
another smokey album for your earz. we getting blitzed here at the magi today. hardcore kicks meet electro dub bass wobbles and breakcore style sampling combine to form pogohm “herb is a plant”. arnaud (pollux and pogohm) said he wanted to make “dubcore”, dub atmosphere and hardcore techno/gabber energy. i think he achieved his goal, and even if he didn’t, it came out great. download it, pretend its a brand new 7” from a dusty record store, wash your hands, roll a spliff, and press play. your work is done.

Benjamin Jackson – 2

Benjamin Jackson – 2
[upfree46]

Benjamin Jackson

“2”

in benjamin jackson’s own words:

“2” is set of tracks that signify a shift in my perspective on the analogue aesthetic. it moves from the somewhat transparent experiments of my debut album ‘exhibit cube’ (download here) into a more inwardly pointing exploration of how analogue machinery can be used to express human emotion.

the sound is active, affirming and in some places a little spiritual, attributes i akin to “kensho” a japanese word roughly translating to ‘a brief glimpse of enlightenment’ i decided not to call the ep kensho after meditating on the matter.

you can call it what you like.

Telegraphy – Species

Telegraphy – Species
[iono-7]

Telegraphy

“13-01-12”

Happy Friday the thirteenth. Ionosonde recordings brings you three thirteen minute tracks with one, one minute track. 13 on the 13th. Good Luck!
A bird is different from a elephant. So is a octopus from a wolverine. Species tells the difference apart from animals and insects alike, but there are similarities that persists throughout the animal kingdom. Take the eyes for instance. Have you ever seen a person or animal with only one eye? No, every living organism has two or more eyes, four extremities, one mouth, and two ears. You see, every animal on this earth, even though looks and acts differently, has similarities. This is the concept of Telegraphy’s “Species” album. Every sound is reminiscent from the previous but is eerily distinctive, just like two or more eyes and so on.

“Species” by Telegraphy, is a slow dub techno, minimal/ambient album. These beat-less tracks, transports us to a world where unknown lifeforms dwell. Unknown but not different from us. All of the tracks titles in this album, your probably wondering, sound kind of strange or desolate, thats because they are names of undiscovered species. No, you won’t find then in any scientific journal any time soon. These species are not from this earth, they are names of alien beings. Greys, Reptilians, Mothman, call them what you will. They all have two eyes, two arms, and two feet. Just like us, different but the same.
“Species” by Telegraphy, different but the same.
