about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“decAde”

10 years of tonAtom

but be assured: this is not a sentimental retrospective. it is an actualization and refinement of the tonAtom sound for today and the next ten years.

tonAtom artists from the whole “decAde” (2002 – 2012) contributed to an interim report on a label still in progress. from ambient via electronica to uptempo electro and house this release is just a transit station.

so stop over at the anniversary celebration and then let’s be curious about what happens next in this wonderful parallel universe of netaudio.

on their first album for pan y rosas, piacente & de angelis employ loops, beats, synths, samples, guitar, processing and poetry to create their version of pop music. cut up scatter beats, ghost singing and break beat electro-psych turn into a chill out travel narrative with noises, cinema ambience and spoken word.

“30 Birds”

30 birds. This represents the size of the Simurgh, fabulous eagle from the Persian mythology. This symbolic creature sign of the beginning of the epic heroes stories of Persia. Oscillating between surf rock, electronic and traditional music, this second album decrypts and reinterprets the history… with a touch of madness and absurdity.

“Screaming Silence: The Concept Of Pain”

“I gotta say this… Wings of an Angel – if I had to predict the future of music, I would say listen to ANY of your stuff… Your sound art is so advanced and beyond what we hear in these days & times. You should put an expiration date on your music: Will be good for the next 200 years. It’s really that advanced!”

“Way open-minded outer space aliens who smoke too much space dust would have your music in their atomic ghetto blasters while they ponder the possibility of other life in the universe”

Wings of an Angel – Satsangs In The Dark

Wings of an Angel – Satsangs In The Dark
[PL012]

Wings of an Angel

“Satsangs In The Dark”

‘Satsangs In The Dark’ brings together the majestic black splendor of sound, seditious spoken-word and thought-provoking poetry – to create a transcendental mind and life altering experience. Satsang (in Sanskrit, sat = true, sanga = company) is an Indian philosophy that involves (1) the company of the “highest truth,” (2) the company of a guru, or (3) company with an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about, and assimilate the truth. This typically involves listening to or reading texts, reflecting on, discussing and assimilating their meaning, meditating on the source of these words, and bringing their meaning into one’s daily life. This project marks an inspiring step further unto the most dangerous terrains and inner-landscapes of one’s obscure existential reflections…

Needless to say that ‘Satsangs In The Dark’ is a paradoxical title. As an experienced and highly passionate critical thinker, my humble words of wisdom to y’all are: Don’t trust gurus, artists, psychologists, professors and others who (manipulatively) guide you how to (supposedly) live and conduct your life. Execute your critical instincts and don’t believe the hype. Romanticism is alluring – but it rarely holds any sustainable promises. Beware of those claiming to represent The Truth or any so-called Truths. Don’t turn off your defenses and DO NOT fall in the trap of those calling you to be less judgmental and (allegedly) open to new experiences. People tend to have a hot spot for charisma and sugar-coated nonsense – let that be known.

‘Satsangs In The Dark’ is all about late night journeys to non-specific destinations, in the context of a perfectly equal intellectual/emotional relationship. ‘Satsangs In The Dark’ is all about crossbreeding information and mutual sharing of knowledge via dialogue. ‘Satsangs In The Dark’ is all about promoting intelligent nonconformism and iconoclasm. ‘Satsangs In The Dark’ is all about providing a valid and well-founded alternative to the herd, sheeple and bourgeois mentalities. ‘Satsangs In The Dark’ is all about a sound transformation of consciousness. Here and now.

Last but not least, there’s a ridiculous New Age driven fashion to dismiss thinking as a whole and promote emotional experiences that are highly regarded and considered to be much more authentic. Give me a break… I have three words for you: Cogito ergo sum.

Secrets Of The 45

“Dvaelkvaela”

On February 2nd 2012,on the day of Candlemas, Secrets Of The 45 publish an album inspired by this holiday – a mixture of folklore and catholic symbolism. The whimsical title is a few words from various languages connected to the symbolism of the holiday, interweaving and combined. All the melodies on the record were created out of one church song. Imagining starless winter nights, empty fields covered in February ice, flickering candles in the windows of cottages, which were supposed to keep lightnings and wolves away from households, SOT 45 presents a set of minimalistic drones, transformed distant echoes of singing and organs, tumbling through the freezing landscape.
