about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“DIT”

In days where freedom around formats in which music is delivered seems to be reaching absolut liberty, Modismo gives us a brief yet overwhelming release by René Roco. With less than 18 minutes in length, we find sounds that manage to immerse us completely in a work of perfect balances. Captivating in its more danceable and pop side, this EP finds a point of equilibrium between melody and beat in ‘DIT’, the shortest of its tracks. In an interesting contrast, ‘TOC’ extends from a more enigmatic side. Curious sounds give the idea of a search that breaks the mold without neglecting the good pulse. Warm Pads are confronted to high frequencies that activate and stimulate our receptors to switch them on and prepare them for a short flight yet rotund. Martial percussive games and ludic keys provide a counterpoint that prepares us for a sudden fall, hanging on notes that fade to silence. In view of this, René Roco offers us a production that invites to start it all over again.
