about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

The Juge – Music To Listen To While Walking Through Abandoned Buildings

[ACP 1420]

The Juge

“Music To Listen To While Walking Through Abandoned Buildings”

All sounds used on this album, except for the synths and *some* of the kicks, were recorded inside the abandoned buildings that these songs were created for. The buildings can be seen on the @Juge Is Cuddly YouTube channel, where slightly different versions of these tracks can be heard.

Kevin Miller – initial concourse aftermath

Kevin Miller

“initial concourse aftermath”

The music heard on this recording consists of what the subtitle suggests; solo guitar improvisations from 7-24-24.
All of the music is completely improvised, and was recorded using a few different basic sound setups from virtual amp plugins.
The titles, for the most part, have nothing to do with the music on any level.

Paul* Hermansen – act

Paul* Hermansen

“act”

Worked on this on and off for about 2 years, because I occasionally felt nostalgic for bass wobbles, wonky beats and lofi atmos.
This schizophrenic EP sits uncomfortably somewhere in between early 2000s UK dubstep and the kind of computer music I normally do.
The last tune is a “proper rinsin” dubstep banger, whereas the rest of the pieces of this EP refract the idiomatic timbres and rhythms of dubstep through an abstracting prism.
Although download is free, please consider paying something, because Saoirse and I are very poor, and in order to make music, we have to eat something.

Stanley Hottek – Stupid Love

[HTK05]

Stanley Hottek

“Stupid Love”

At the beginning of the year, Sascha Müller (Psychocandies) asked me if I wanted to do my part for Netlabel Day and contribute a track. Full of enthusiasm, I immediately agreed, only to later realize that time was running out. Too much on my mind, too many projects at once – my problem again. At the last minute, I found a track that had been hidden in my infamous drawer since 2021. Since I recognized potential, I got to work on it, as always at the last minute, changing a few nuances here and there and giving my Waldorf Pulse a voice again.

The theme of the track is “Stupid Love” – a reflection on how crazy love can sometimes be. Whether it’s the passion for music, the relationship with your better half or the incessant urge for toxic bonds and intense, physical music – love has many facets.

As always, you can download the track for free from my Bandcamp profile and from today you can also hear it somewhere in the vastness of this stream during the online stream for Netlabel Day.

Support is welcome, downloads are welcome, sharing is welcome.

Aquatic_Tungsten – Austauschschüler

Aquatic_Tungsten

“Austauschschüler”

This album stemmed from the challenge to write and produce songs entirely within the span of a month while studying abroad, a challenge mostly upheld, but failed spectacularly for both “Petersilie” songs and “Auf Wiedersehen,” which were completed much later the next year. Given the limited cargo one can bring on a trans-atlantic flight, the sonic palette is limited to the VRC-6 sound chip and the OP-1 synthesizer.

Album art is provided by the fantastic Nineki, who can be found on various platforms, including twitter and instagram. Please consider showing them support, they’ve been fantastic to work with!

This project is dedicated to George, Joan, Faith, and my Professors, all of whom made my experience in a new country absolutely wonderful.

I hope you enjoy!
