Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“LA NOCHE”

A.L. GUILLÉN
“LA NOCHE”

“This work tells about the transition of a beloved person, one night in a hospital.
With no dramatic or compassionate intention, I created “La Noche” to amplify our separation and our unitive annihilation, like a song whispered in the ear of the one who goes away, and the one who stays. An ode to everything we experience by this loss, and everything that we know stays behind forever once the body of the beloved one is gone.
This song should be heard at night, in absolute darkness and through headphones, so that one can, after initial resistance, “obey” and follow the sound. It intends to act as the nail that pierced the veil of mourning, showing the fullness of the non-place, of all that was lost.
You are not forced to follow my narrative proposal, but…
The first two tracks oppose “Siamese Twins” separated sound extremes and sonic subjectivities. Mine: the aseptic silence in the hospital room, which is also an imminent “final”. Hers: the sound of the relentless progression of septic invasion on her body.
This excision reconnects us with a humble gesture, track #3: A Kiss on Our Original Placenta. Finally, when the transition is finished, the window of the next day – letting in the cool air from the Genil river – is open. With some melodic, nostalgic souls flying to heaven, a past tense of platonic flavour. It is the light of the next day on earth. The only material we have.

I recorded and mixed “La Noche” at La Antena Noética Studio (Almería, Spain), during a period of several nights in autumn 2015, using a theremin and a computer. It was mastered by Dal Verme and myself.
It is dedicated to Maria Josefa Megías Cuadros, and to all those who would have this whispered song when the sun goes down”.

[SDR029]

I Neurologici, Jobba, Ras Moray, Shiny D

“Nuova Resistenza Riddim”

The month of April could only be represented by this riddim, which despite being included in the 2009 album “In Dub Vol.2”, continues to inspire soloists and our friend Andrea Real Rock, who has always believed in its strength so much that he printed the Jobba’s interpretation “Stronger Than Them” on vinyl in December of 2015. A new mix of this track opens this fourth round with Riddim To Riddim by I Neurologici.
Following another Ras Moray poetry, from his album “Out Of City” and even this one with a new mix for the occasion.
The third track is shared by two wind instruments: a zampogna by Alessandro Mazziotti, one of the founders of the roman dub collective and a melodica by Shiny D, active for many years as a musician in the ranks of different formations in the roman reggae scene, today at his debut with his own project Seal’d In Vain.
As always the riddim closes the playlist, to be used by anyone who wants to add something of his own

Sektor – Kikish

Sektor

“Kikish”

It’s been a long long time since Sektor last appeared on Kahvi. Last heard of, he was living in the mountains of Bulgaria, using a mobile music setup with a laptop to create his details, sentimental works. Now, after several years of silence, and a relocation to Northern Ireland, we can now hear the latest fruits of his efforts.

It’s a proven fact that location has a lot of influence over the music you create (my own music being the case) and Sektor has subtle changes apparent. Not so much the inspiration of silence and being alone, but of towering blocks and concrete, creating a drifting serenity, the wind blowing between the buildings rather than the mountains.

Various Artists – netBloc Vol. 51: Embark!

Various Artists – netBloc Vol. 51: Embark!
[BSCOMP0051]

Various Artists

“netBloc Vol. 51: Embark!”

Whenever I begin the process of listening for a netBloc release, I have to wade through such a large amount of not so awesome music. While doing so, when I do find gems, it immediately changes my mood and makes the task of finding more great music, that much easier. Once I’ve got about 30 or so gems, I know that I’ve got some great music for the next volume, but what’s still unclear is which songs will ultimately make the cut, how well they’ll flow together and which ones I’ll have to remove because I can’t reach the artist or label. Eventually, though, I arrive at the final sequence that I can throw into my music player and listen to while preparing the compilation for release.

This time around, the final compilation is just so very, very good. Don’t get me wrong, each one is great, but there’s something about this collection of songs that’s unique. Perhaps it’s the way they flow together, or maybe certain songs work together so well that it makes the whole that much better. Whatever the case may be, I think netBloc Vol. 51: Embark! is likely to eventually be considered among your favorites… at least I hope so!

For this volume, we’ve got Electronic, Hip-Hop, House, Indie, Jazz, Post-Punk, Post-Rock & Soul from all over the world for you to enjoy and listen to. So download your copy… put your player on loop and spin it all day while you work!

A very special thanks to all participating artists and labels! Your support of the Creative Commons community by releasing your music with CC licenses is more important than you may know.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Francisco Pinto – Retarded

Francisco Pinto – Retarded
[pn105]

Francisco Pinto

“Retarded”

“Francisco Pinto returns to the tracks with “Retarded“, a more defined, more pop, more danceable work, suitable for all music lovers who enjoy quality pop made in Chile.

A flashback to the 80’s with sounds full of synths, highly sticky melodies like in “Los sueños (the dreams)”, with the collaboration of singer Fakuta, or “Mil Noches” (Thousad Nights), with the participation of Elisita Punto (MKRNI), Javier Barría, Diego Ridolfi and La Entrópica.

Faithfully following the national electro pop scene that characterizes us so much, Francisco Pinto manages to find his space with a sound more envelopving , taking us on this journey that we are looking for so often when playing a disc, tracks like “Time to Time”, “Spring Boy” are examples of this.

As a versatile disc, pop, retro, spaciality, and elegance are all elements that make up the formula which after long years Francisco Pinto utilized in his new work, which will surprise more than a few.”

Fernanda Arrau
DJ, Productora / DJ, Producer.
(Santiago, Chile, Abril / April 2016)

“Nearly eight years have passed since the launch of “Boo Boo“, the previous disc of Francisco Pinto. And though that may not mean much in more purist genres, in electronica and on the dance floor it’s an eternity. In 2008, Pinto fit perfectly with the trend of the time, which was looking with admiration to the time that disco music turned from the orchestras to the synthesizers, without losing the sense of melody, the chorus, and the hooks. On this path singer / composers as diverse as Fakuta and Javier Barría accompanied him.

Jump to 2016 and many of his local colleagues, and those around the world, have drifted away from melodies to emphasize the rhythmic or the atmospheric, through concise and reduced releases, born of the times. Because of this, Retarded, Pinto’s new album, seems a strong declaration of principles. It not only has 14 songs – longer than even many LPs of today, but it also does not move the focus a single millimeter from his need for melodic expression, no matter what happens with the rest.

Still more people accompany him here: in addition to the same Fakuta and Barría, other names appear from the local pop scene like Elisita Punto (the voice of MKRNI), Deplasticoverde and La Entrópica. He accompanies himself, either with his own voice or through a vocoder as well. In sound, the references remain in the period between 1975 and 1985: space disco and synth pop. Music that can function as much on the dance floor as at home, a task that much electronic music not only fails to seek, but which it could hardly achieve.

Retarded is a timeless and effective album.”

Klaten – Klaten

Klaten – Klaten
[D!HR-30]

Klaten

“Klaten”

For its 30th release, Da ! Heard It Records gives a touching testimony: that of Klaten’s computer’s last days. Inspired by the epileptic glitches of a video card used up to its circuit, this disc’s seven pieces form a meticulous assembly of violent unknown flying objects from which otherworldly melodies emerge.

“Tergiversure”, “Déglutogène”, “Exoplaste”: each track seems to be an attempt at a graft to sustain the life of a microprocessor on its last legs for a just a few moments more. Klaten, a professional 3D infographist, has indeed retained from his practice an extreme attention to detail and a taste for peculiar universes, as evidenced by the disc’s sleeve, signed Elise Kobisch-Miana, a panorama of crystals with shattered perspectives reminiscent of the album’s numerous landforms.

Leading the way with Stipulite, Klaten takes the listener into the winding tunnels of a labyrinthian cave where bouncing rhythms sometimes trigger the tinting of dim mineral glows. Digging deeper into the matter, he pursues his course head hung low, through the sparkling reflections of Exoplaste and the sharp breakbeats of Tergiversure. Once at the heart of an aural boiling magma from which he draws new metallic materials (Phoryaphile, Gramafion), he completes his journey through the breath of Stratiformis in order to cool down the overheating vents of his machine positively controlled at all the VST. Alas, it is already too late…

Ultimate souvenir from this voyage, the Parisian C_C concludes with his own vision of the trip: a remix with massive rhythms and the sound of his analog machines humming in the background. A tribute to the complex landscapes of Autechre and the experiments of the label Schematic, this disc, with its rich and startling imaginary, remains nameless. Like a challenge, the sonorities it deploys give all the hints necessary for the listener to find it a name.

“Music For Sleepers”

After two years of silence, Gridline came back. “This is a collection of tracks I created in the last two years. They are all in some way connected to dreams, sleep, night time, and other similar themes. Music For Sleepers is the sequel to the previous album Videogame, but it is about another virtual reality. This is the music for all the people, because we all sleep and dream, but it is not the music to fall asleep to.”
