about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Aysen – 3 estados

Aysen – 3 estados
[pn059]

Aysen

“3 estados”

(3 estados, originally released in November 2010)

Solid, liquid, gas. Pablo Flores new step, now under the name of Aysén, forces the memory of those three components. “3 estados” is a creative model bedazzled with concrete, fugacious, unmeasurability fantasies. A system signed by these three ways, an album working in a conception of song format understood as a dislocated vehicle, creating, manipulating, capturing new frames in countless sound levels.

From the attractive pop starting in ‘Estancia revisitada’, to the unmeasured epic ‘XXX’, this firts Aysén‘s work twistes moods and poetic approaches. ‘Sandungueo’ and ‘Estremecido’ correspond to moments of melody and quietness; ‘Talento inocuo’ and ‘Cuesco’ deal with a continuous interspersing of samples and programmed rhythms. Here, sounds capturing and minimal backgrounds elaborate a lexicon allured by an electronica mask, but proposing infinite possibilities -via manipulation- of material traceable in commonplaces (voices, settings, objects, noises). ‘

“3 estados” proposes unsteadiness as a creative site: neither known path nor final picture here, the album opens itself in delta, receiving sounds moving forward, back, in zigzag, marching towards an infinite point. A twisting-line exercise, restated in labyrinth-like songs, beautifully crafted, displaying, in their hesitations, the subtle insolence of their maker.

Mathieu St-Pierre – Online Messages In Cardboard Boxes

Mathieu St-Pierre – Online Messages In Cardboard Boxes
[mhrk263]

Mathieu St-Pierre

“Online Messages In Cardboard Boxes”

Following the steps of his debut album “These Elephants”, Mathieu St-Pierre re-engages with the concept of cyberspace as a means to explore his ambient and drone compositional approaches via the pool of data that is the internet.

As a result, his second album and Mahorka debut “Online Messages in Cardboard Boxes” was constructed solely by scavenging the net for sound textures and later altering and arranging them to create unique soundscapes. So as much as there was lots of time spent designing the compositions, an at least equal amount of time was involved in the research phase. “Online Messages in Cardboard Boxes” is a voyage beyond the keyboard, the monitor and the WWW, it takes us on a trip from the busy streets of a virtual metropolis to the melted ruins of a broken e-map. Each track was conceived as a gateway to the cloud of our mind.

“united:chernobyl.memories”

The failure at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is one of the most dramatic and tragic pages of the 20th century. This catastrophe is a symbol of the destructiveness of human delusions and the arrogant selfish worldview. Man allowed himself to think that he made nature work for himself, but nature has shown its true indomitable character. This incident also showed the depravity of the socialist authorities, which for a long time tried to hide the real scale of the disaster and the threat of radioactive contamination. This last drop became fatal for the majestic colossus on the clay feet called the USSR, which rapidly began to fall apart before everyone’s eyes. The whole world has learned a difficult lesson, which further led to a slowdown in the construction of new nuclear power plants and forced many developing countries to opt for environmental green technologies. From a social point of view, humanity has begun to rely more on international institutions that carefully monitor the situation around the world to try to avoid similar events. But as we know, this has already been repeated again… However, we should not despair, but it’s worth any experience, first of all negative, to adopt into service. This is the hard way on the stairs of progress.

Also there is a prequel to A Symbiotic Experience : Dawn of the Damned.

A Symbiotic Experience is a project created for HAMFUGGI Records, but we really love Non Exclusive Concept so we chose to do a double release. More informations here hamfugi.wixsite.com/hamfuggirecords/a-symbiotic-experience

It’s another perfect horsnorme music example, so it’s not relevant to link it to any musical styles.

About the influences you may find it linked to nothing else than the music of the two protagonists which is allready a lot because they are quite eclectics :
Gabriel Pereira Spurr & Yoshiwaku Mushotoku

Another thing, the visual side is an important part of this project.
So here is a Video Art Clip :

Di Bos

“Smailin Ca(r)Ma”

At first the name of this album was Planet B.
These ten short tracks were recorded during the first lockdown and I was imagining music for an alternate planet.
Day after day, however, I realized that this music was born spontaneously to react to the suffering of a separation, my separation.
This music is also perfect for doing daily meditative postural gymnastics exercises. Each track corresponds to an exercise, for a total of ten exercises and twenty minutes of reflection and meditation.

José Gallardo A – Diario de una depresión

José Gallardo A – Diario de una depresión
[pn178]

José Gallardo A

“Diario de una depresión”

Listening to the recent work by José Gallardo is an experience that voids any interruptions and defines its own place.

Everything starts with pulses that resonate at low loudness and frequencies, which peek out from the environment. As time passes, they flatten out until they form a sound background that appears for moments like a figure broken up into accents. Slowly we enter into the trance of a phrase to mutate the idea and the state, all in a slow and fractional way. This step becomes evident when appearing in the center of a new tale.

When sound is clearer and calmerthrough inflections towards distortion, static and noise produced by saturation are integrated as rougher textures that outline part of the limits of each volume.

In “Diario de una depression” (“Diary of a depression”) the musical matter is located between the electric guitar melody and the effects mass, which runs on an independent timeline. These are the two most identifiable layers that structure the total of this work;however, its greatest virtue is not in what is perceived in an apparent way, but in the resonances with which a dialogue is established when listening to it again.

Fernando Bocadillos

“A Day at the Sound Market”

Iniciando 2021 con un lanzamiento muy especial. ♥

[mi281]

Luís Antero

“Som.Terra.Água/Sound.Earth.Water”

After a few years of absence, Luís Antero returns to MiMi Records with another field recording record. “Sound. Earth. Water.” is the main theme that served as the soundtrack for the film made in 2020.

Quoting Carlos Alberto Augusto: “Life, the sounds of life, mark the soundscape. As long as there is life, there is sound.”

A 15 minutes track where we connect to Earth through field recordings by Luís Antero and the mastery with which he manipulates the sounds of Nature.

This is the sound of the Earth that we step on, that we feel, that we live, that we long for … This is the primordial element of the landscape, the sound. And the sound is life.

DR – Matrjoschka

DR – Matrjoschka
[mhrk262]

DR

“Matrjoschka”

DR (Dominic Razlaff) is a sound artist from Germany. He uses synthesizers, acoustic instruments (Ukulele, Cavaquinho, Guitar), field recordings, tape loops and granular synthesis to create soaked in melancholy ambient / drone soundscapes.

A bit after debuting on Mahorka with his highly acclaimed collaboration album with Blanket Swimming (“The Lightning Gallery”) he found an old sketch, unfinished Ukulele piece, which was a little bit boring recording, but had something special to it. Out of it he made some tape loops (with a Fostex x-15) to see what can come out and really liked the results. From these tape loops the three “Matrjoschka” compositions were finished. The release title comes from the “matrjoschkas” that have been around him in his living room, the only decoration that links to his ancestry from his father’s side, born and growing up in east Europe and central Asia.

“dystopia is fun 2.0”
