about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

“Into The Rift: Volume One”

CerebralAudio is proud to present it’s first ever Netlabel Day Release: Into The Rift: Volume One!

Several months ago we put out a call to the netlabel community for submissions for a new compilation. And, we were stunned by the number of people and group that chose to support this effort. Initially, we hoped to create a solid, single-disc length release (about an hour in length). However, this release grew and grew until it became a three disc (3.5 hours) length release. By then end of the submissions thirty artists form around the world submitted works for Into The Rift: Volume One, and have made it into a diverse and eclectic listening experience.

Massimo Ruberti – Granchite Yumtruso PT 1

[NN_EP029_07_16]

Massimo Ruberti

“Granchite Yumtruso PT 1”

Nostress Netlabel proudly presents “Granchite Yumtruso PT. 1”, the new album by Massimo Ruberti, from Livorno (Italy). An artist who likes to call himself “trafficker of sounds and images” now considered one of the label’s flagship artists. The album will be released exclusively for the upcoming second edition of the Netlabel Day, a considerable important event organized by the Chilean netlabel M.I.S.T. which will take place July 14 and involving Netlabels from around the world. Will take place at the endless web areas and there will be a collective exchange of unreleased and original music, that will bring enrichment in the archives of all those who participate in this beautiful and important initiative. Massimo Ruberti will bring high the banner of Nostress Netlabel with the publication of the first part of an EP extremely complex and sophisticated, that catapults the listener into distant and forgotten times. A work that requires careful listening and that will see the closure of a circle as soon as possible, through the publication of the second part. “Granchite Yumtruso PT. 1” it’s an album in warm and elegant sounds, scratching the heart and soul of the listener. A work that runs through wilderness, unexplored and never trodden by human. Through listening we find ourselves in a desert devoid of its characteristic and constant wind, driving on non-existent paths, you suddenly find yourself in an oasis where the perspective changes and even the sand seems to take on the color of the sky and thirst suddenly becomes the ‘ last of the primary needs. The Sax caressing soft carpets of Synth, nocturnal atmospheres through the time gap that separates the vintage from the traditional electronic sound. Four songs that lead the listener to dive into the wonderful atmosphere created by Ruberti, starting from the cover depicting a Vedic text 5000 years ago to the intoxicating beauty of sound that will, without a doubt, to a new relistening of the album.

Martino Nencioni – Snowing on Lava

[51bts050]

Martino Nencioni

“Snowing on Lava”

Four-to-floor with Fire, Earth, Air and Water, the characterizing elements of “Snowing on Lava”, the artistic maturity for Martino Nencioni. His classy electronic compositions transfuse with naturalistic components characterized by typical rave-culture aesthetics. The “4 elements” fully shine in “Snowing on Lava”, a 60 minutes space-less and silent suite. A dense album, which transports the listener to meditate about the origin of cosmos through a whirling and hypnotic crescendo. Fast transformation and ecstatic contemplation, natural elements like stones and aquatic sounds are melted with technoid rhythms, creating a mutable and harmonic world. Echoes of krautrock a là Neu mixed with trancy IDM components from Anglo-Saxon school (see James Holden or Clark). “Snowing on Lava” is the kingdom of Martino Nencioni, in which all the things exist and consist.

Faex Optim – Start with the River

[372]

Faex Optim

“Start with the River”

This time last year, Faex Optim released an album for Netlabel Day 2015 (Mercury) and this year, once again to coincide with Netlabel Day we have a brand new nine track album by Faex Optim entitled ‘Start with the River’.

Igloomag describes Start with the River ‘Collecting tranquil interludes gone astray, broken childhood samples, psychedelic undertones and kaleidoscopic colors colliding in blissful accord, this is where Faex Optim resides. A place where corroded percussion, fragmented melodies and disjointed harmonies swirl in cohesive unity.’

Faex Optim once again gives us an amazing release drawing of strong influences from Boards of Canada, and every fan of Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin will be blown away by these tracks, Ennet House and Moscow School being two favourites for this fan.

08. Shortcut To Elijah (4:04)

This is a conceptual CD. All the tunes in this LP are related to a journey, a given path, a force that drives us away that has no beginning, no ending; it is just a universal force, a way, a wry way, with its twists and turns. It certainly does tell a story. The whole concept is of a wry way that takes shape everyday in ourlives, doesn’t matter where we are nor where we want to go. Each one of the sounds have its own soul, its inner vibration, it’s very self. Apart from all this, they are all linked by a theme, they are tied by a very tide node. This bond or bondage, this attraction of the individuals to a greater reality, all of them having something different to say because they have been through different paths, strange ways, wry ways, like me, perhaps like you too, some day, some time, in the past, present and future.

Push Against New Fakes – morality

[SE070]

Push Against New Fakes

“[im]mor[t]ality”

“[im]mor[t]ality” contains 10 tracks and represents a new search and a new definition of his sound. It’s a work built on bass frequencies and obsessive melodies sometimes dark, sometimes gray, sometimes just simply blue as the sky can be.

Number Eleven – Protrusion

[EEM15]

Number Eleven

“Protrusion”

Protrusion is an epic and dreamy release, but boiling emotions will not let you dream about nice and positive things. As the artist himself describes: “suddenly all things that were piling up for years collapse into a destructive and painful fury against yourself, killing all emotions and resentments.” Every track of this album seems to be a separate journey, but all of them are connected by similar mood. “The defying of reality, absolute corruption of worldview”. But no one is crying in this album. It is more like a triumph of a narcissist against a wish to hide in the corner and cry.

Faastwalker – Geometrics

[371]

Faastwalker

“Geometrics”

A new guest artist arrives on Kahvi this time. Faastwalker sent over a demo which immediately caught my attention with it’s deep analogue warmth, heavily inspired by classic analogue retro sounds.

Hailing from Australia, but originally from the UK, Faastwalker uses influences from both continents which becomes apparent as you listen. Minimal electronica from Australia, and classic early 90s techno and ambient from the UK (with some elements of Boards of Canada mixed in for good measure).

Tracks of choice: Plonk Unit (amazing BOC warmth in this short track), Surveying the surface (that classic techno vibe).

José Gallardo A. – Sinfonía para un hombre solo… en su casa

[pn107]

José Gallardo A.

“Sinfonía para un hombre solo… en su casa”

“Sinfonía para un hombre solo… en su casa” (Symphony for a man alone… in his home), a piece composed in the second half of 2015 based on recordings made in the parks of the neighborhood of “Conquistadores” in the city of Medellin, in apartment 203 of the building “Los Vikingos” in the same neighborhood, and on the day of San Jose in the year 2013 or 2014 in the district of Santa Elena on the outskirts of Medellin. This piece is a tribute to Pierre Schaeffer and Pierre Henry, dedicated to María Juliana and our new home; to Peluza, Azuka, and Mizu and their new parks, and to the men alone in their houses full of possibly expressive sounds.
