about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

GoH-817: Mazinkhaos – First Alert 01: Simulation Case

Conceptual, thirty minutes long soundscape joining dreamy, cinematic space ambient with a handful of post-industrial components like heavy pulsations, distorted drones, strange noises and speech processed beyond recognition. Relaxation meets underskin tension and impression of touching a great mystery. A sonic ingredient completing artist’s visual work over gnostic/mecha themes.

GoH-815: Malísima – The Art of Slowly Being The Only One Left

Massive work of greatly crafted, distant, blurry drones with industrial and noisy edge, shifting between realms of dark and dreamy. Another excellent creation from Spain’s Malísima.

GoH-746: Mass Graven Image – Crime Meridian

Two massive tracks filled with heavy industrial drones, distorted speech samples, dark, cinematic ambience and crushing waves of electronic noise. Mass Graven Image, as usual paints a pessimist reflection of the modern reality filled with soulless mechanization washed of the foundation of primordial spark, that used to make us human beings. A grim testimony of the last days – no need to say more, get this!

Various Artist – Madrid Austral

[pn244]

Various Artist

“Madrid Austral”

On July 6, 2017, a gathering took place at El Foro, that is, Madrid, Spain. In La Tortuga de Lavapiés, a very active social and cultural center in the neighborhood, we witnessed a four-part concert organized by Eventos Latimeria / Almudena Villar. The beautiful title of the sound recording you now hold in your hands — “Madrid Austral” — is also her creation.

Javier Piñango, Juan Antonio Nieto, and Mika Martini each offered a solo piece before coming together in a joint performance. A memorable evening, further validated by its release as a record, as it includes a sound document by the great Juan Antonio Nieto aka Pangea, who crossed the Rainbow in Madrid on February 27, 2022.

And who are they? A brief introduction…

JAVIER PIÑANGO. MADRID, 1962.

A key figure in the sonic landscape since the 1980s. Summarizing his work and career in just a few words would be impossible.

A few of his activities include:

Director of the international experimental music festival Experimentaclub and of the experimental music dissemination project of the same name. Co-director of the Ibero-American artistic exchange and cultural cooperation project Experimentaclub LIMb0. In short, nearly forty years of dedicated work within the Spanish avant-garde sound scene across many fronts: musician, cultural programmer, founder of record labels, music journalist…

As a musician, Javier Piñango‘s sonic body of work is vigorous and tactile, with the power of analog instruments such as his inseparable Korg MS-20 synthesizer.

Ode from Javier Piñango to the Korg MS-20: «A few more words for and about the Korg MS-20. I’ve always considered it, in some way, to be a punk-era synthesizer. Probably first for purely chronological reasons — Korg manufactured it in 1978 and it remained in production until 1983. Secondly, because its excellent price-to-quality ratio made it an affordable tool compared to other synthesizers, opening up access to synthetic means for many noisy, unorthodox, and transgressive musicians. Finally, because of its own special characteristics, it perfectly matched the ‘do-it-yourself’ spirit of punk: it was a two-VCO, semi-modular, patchable synthesizer whose fantastic and versatile connection panel allowed for a vast range of creative possibilities. Add to that the MS-20’s uniquely thick sound, and you have a simply fantastic synthesizer.»

JUAN ANTONIO NIETO AKA PANGEA. MADRID 1961 / MADRID 2022.

His presence lives on in us — a beautiful human being and a masterful sound artist.

Juan Antonio collaborated with great creators across the world. His works have been featured in art installations in numerous countries.

“The main idea behind my music is to explore the evocative power of sounds, outside of the conventional elements found in most musical compositions, such as rhythm or melody. The different timbres must stand on their own, and it is their interaction that brings emotional content to the work, aiming to establish a bond between the composition and the listener. These sounds — harsh, even irritating on their own — acquire an entirely different dimension when combined.”

And now, the guest of the evening, Hugo Espinosa Chellew. Written like that, many might say: All right, and…?
But everything changes when we say:

MIKA MARTINI. SANTIAGO DE CHILE, 1967.

With studies in architecture, a degree in design, and a relationship with music that began in 1996, he gave life to his alter musicus Mika Martini in 2004:

“I began my solo music work in early 2004, with a clear objective: to rescue and blend sounds from the Chilean ethnic heritage with abstract elements, drawing on techniques such as microsampling and minimalism. In parallel, I also developed work more closely tied to experimental music and electronic improvisation.”

To date, Mika Martini has released 12 albums under his name, in addition to appearing in compilations and collaborative works. On July 1, 2005, he co-founded the label Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel, which now boasts over 240 published albums and counting. He was also part of the collective Electroacoustic Community of Chile (CECh) — and the story could go on. In 2011, he gave birth to another alter musicus: Frank Benkho — music that is playful, analog-digital, and full of energy. Hyperactive? Perhaps.

“I make music according to the people I meet.”

In Madrid Austral on 30.06.2024.

REfugEEs From Beyond

“Odd Spede Noisecore”

Improvisation recorded live in September 2024 at the Cave Haven in Foucherans.

“Sometime your miss are others hits”

So despite we wanted to erase this session of our memories, we released it free ^^

The artwork is an edit of an AI art.

Hidden meaning :
>From Middle English God spede.
(literary) Used, especially at a parting, to express the wish that the outcome of a person’s actions be positive for them; typically said to someone who is about to start a journey or a daring endeavour. Synonyms: all the best, (archaic) fare thee well, farewell, goodbye, good luck. (Wikipedia)

Members :
Master of Ceremony : Psyché Pelik
Guitar Hero : McClintic
Disc Jockey : Yoshiwaku Mushotoku

You may notice it was a special month focus on REfugEEs From Beyond, next month the other projects will be back.

So after ten years of insane dreams the Cave Haven (2015-2025) is now dead, I’ve spent the last two weeks moving everything in a new place.
The good side is that Saint-Nazaire’s possible field (1997-2012) is reboot here in Dole. A few information already available in french here http://www.horsnorme.org/ak/ (mostly it explains that the possible field home studio will be also an open third place)

Special thanks to life to never let me fall asleep in comfort.

Dedicated to all those who continue to live in permanent mutation because this will change society soon or later.

eww – Hope in Dystopia

[EEM075]

eww

“Hope in Dystopia”

Noise which is not nihilistic mixed with positivity which is gritty. For those who deal with and appreciate the whole.

Perfection looks unnatural and repulsive, but imperfections are beautiful. Pleasure is painful, but healing your wounds is joy.

The album was created and released during a period of turmoil in this world – a global pandemic, an increasing number of wars, an epidemic of propaganda and false news, ever prevalent ignorance, while the AI revolution is elevating shortcomings of our minds to unforeseen levels. There is so much pain in releasing accumulated tensions and yet releasing them is inevitable and necessary, always leading to a relief.

Let’s put our feet in the sand, the sea is calling! Net label musician Iliaque from the Normandy gives us a little, relaxed and artistic time-out, full of droning fluidity that invites us to imagine. Happy resurrection! Happy living on.

We can already find Iliaque’s music on the net labels Enough, Picpack, Bump Foot and Mahorka, among others. And soon two great songs by him on the Phonocake birthday compilation that will finally be released on June 1st, this one with only a two-year delay.

Atsuto Yamamoto – 1 plus 0 is more or less equal to 10

[mi328]

Atsuto Yamamoto

“1 plus 0 is more or less equal to 10”

It’s the first album of 2025 and the debut work of Japanese artist Atsuto Yamamoto, known for exploring the boundaries of noise and harsh noise.

“1 Plus 0 Is More or Less Than 10” is an album built on layers of saturated noise, abrasive frequencies, and unsettling moments of silence. Each track seems to exist on the threshold between everything and nothing, between “1” and “0,” evoking the idea that even extremes can overlap, distort, or lose definition.

Yamamoto employs a combination of analog synthesizers, manipulated recordings, and custom-built equipment to create sonic textures that feel tangible, almost as if the sound could be physically felt on the skin.

Prepare yourself for a unique experience. “1 Plus 0 Is More or Less Than 10” is not an album to be merely heard – it is an album to be confronted.

Artwork done by a stoned artificial intelligence ^^

“Earsheltering: 20 years of noise – RV 666”

Radiovision vs. Earsheltering

EARSHELTERING: 20 years of noise

earsheltering celebrates is 20th anniversary in 2024 with a various artists release as a tribute to RADIOVISION.

Thanks to all artists & friends who supported this project & also EARSHELTERING since 20 years, especially Alkbazz providing a wonderful artwork within short timelines & Françis Baume for Amazing sampling from Radiovision to create interludes between each tracks.
The release is available as a free virtual double disc available on archives & bandcamp(s). Disc 1 is dedicated to Radiovision serie and disc 2 is dedicated to Radiovision Eveil serie.
1 video clips by CorteX is also made available.

Radiovision is an educational program which was launched in 1955, combining a school radio program with a slide show and a booklet. Forgotten today, it was a great success until the 1980s.

The slideshow and booklets were received on request by schools a few weeks before the radio program was broadcast. The colored slideshow pictures were larger and in a higher definition than the television image could offer. Paintings, engravings, manuscripts and old photographs were rendered with a higher quality than television couldn’t reach. It was therefore particularly useful for Geography, History of Arts and Natural Sciences classes.

The teacher had to manually ensure synchronization between images and sounds, triggering the transition to the next slide at each the sound signal.

During the 70s, in addition to the combination of sounds and still images, radiovisions became part of a more complete multimedia system, from an educational and tools point of view, and made up the radiovisual file. Each week, two programs from the “Radio-awakening” series would be associated with the radiovision, developing complementary aspects of the subject dealt with, along with educational documents gathered together in a file (15 to 20 pages of program content analysis, bibliography, texts, photographs, maps, etc.).

From the 1974-75 school year onwards, a flexy 7 inch disk would be part of the package for a few files, and then it developed to become more systematically; in the 80s, audio cassettes took over the flexy 7 inch disk.

Mimamamis – Calvary

[mi325]

Mimamamis

“Calvary”

Calvary, the latest work from the Japanese project Mimamamis, is a deep dive into the abyss of harsh noise, a true auditory calvary that pushes the listener to the limits of sonic endurance.

The album, consisting of just three tracks, brings chronic feedback, massive distortions, and extreme saturation. Each track is an attempt to force the listener to confront the discomfort of repetitive, brutally compressed sounds.

Mimamamis makes no concessions, and the result is a work that approaches the concept of calvary: an unrelenting journey that is difficult to endure, yet fascinating at the same time. In terms of structure, the tracks of Calvary are minimalist, but not in a conventional sense. They slowly build in heavy layers of noise, creating a sense of suffocation and oppression.

In summary, Calvary by Mimamamis is a radical work within the harsh noise genre, distinguished by its ability to provoke discomfort, pushing the listener to confront their own emotional resistance to the brutality of the sound.
