about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Jan Strach – EP 2016

[UPL 067]

Jan Strach

“EP 2016”

As tradition goes, the Polish purveyor of lo-to mid-fi experimental pop and rock publishes a short collecton of songs that for one reason or another did not make it to the previous year’s full-length. As always kaleidoscopic, stylistically unpredictable and undefinable with regular genre terms, it melts together post-rock passages, distorted casio beats, crazed noise rock, layered askew pop harmonies with irregular time signatures, a chopped up, triumphant organ hymn.

As always proudly published on Polish home for all homemade, passionate and DIY, Underpolen Netlabel.

The Beautiful Day For Suicide

” Effect Placebo [EP] (2016)”

Who said that «EMO ROCK IS DEAD» – need to listen it!
«Effect Placebo» is debut EP album of Moscow music band «The Beautiful Day For Suicide». It’s really true #emo music, you can check it!
Need to say that this band is literally new breath of #EMO #WAVE, because there are very small quantity of musicians, who can make this stuff. It’s first release of label “animata records”, and I think it’s not last.
Take it in your iPod and May the Force be with you!

(2013), Икра из молодых (2014) и 69 (2015) и только сейчас в 2016-м году мы смогли завершить эту работу. Поэтому качество текстов и игры на инструментах характерные для того времени. »

STEKKLO – STEKKLO

STEKKLO

“STEKKLO”

STEKKLO is a Russian electronic band formed solely by Arkady Cherkashin. His production style was created under the influence of psychedelic-pop bands of new wave as well as of Soviet rock and synth-pop bands. STEKKLO music style can be characterized as a synth-popelectroclash with the elements of lo-fi and acoustic, although the musician doesn’t specify the genre of his project. This main idea is harmony of different kinds of sound and it’s styles in art and live on the whole.

Hassan K. – Hykayat, l’exil accidentel

Hassan K.

“Hykayat, l’exil accidentel”

« The look of which I know is the look he knows me »

This sentence is taken from Western Exile, thoughts and mystical story of the Persian philosopher Suhrawardi. It sums up the album. Hykayat in Iran, is a mystical story. Western exile is a journey to the celestial pole, to immaterial palaces.

This album is a tribute to the Persian thinkers and scientists of medieval Islam. It invites the listener to travel throughout eastern lights, axioms of creative imagination that influenced alchemists, mathematicians, astronomers and western philosophers. It was designed to stimulate your light guides to accompany your souls to the house of chants. It passes through time and space through hybridization of genres, rhythms and tones (metal, swing, electro, rock, philharmonic…).

It’s a light album: live performance is played on stage with lights DMX reacting to sounds. The album artwork is black and white, inviting the listener to focus on sound work, on composition and to develop a photism experience (feel color through another sense than vision). Live performances are still ecstatic, energetic, wobbly and increased by some unusual instruments like a guitar tuned with a wiimote, a MIDI flute, and sometimes a robot santoor.

Infecticide – Poil de Cœur

[D!HR-29]

Infecticide

“Poil de Cœur”

For Da ! Heard It Records’s 29th release, Infecticide returns to heckle with French chanson with psychoactive brilliance and fervor: “Poil de Coeur” arrives with the new year, like a musical greeting card under a dead Christmas tree. Inside, a journey into deep waters, through treats of neuroleptic wave, punk sweat, and the poetry of evenings that end at 3 pm in the morning… The dominical pleasures proposed by Michel Drucker will never have the same flavor.
As accomplished artists, the nasty three invest any and all means that get between their dirty hands to turn their offspring into a nocturnal weapon with a sadistic character, and the audience finds itself on its knees in front of such mastery in the art of bullshitting.
We are dealing with a precious trouple, in picturesque French scenery. Even if the Parisian trio keeps pounding pies in our faces, like with “Fais-le moi-le”, and even if the flat country that is not theirs suits them perfectly, to reduce it to the elegant EBM would ensure showers of rotten tomatoes, as evidenced by the abrasive “Pistache” which could have dubbed a block party at the time of the Boogie Down, or “Ton Tanga”, between electronic power and the exaltation of intimate undergarments. With “Prehistronic” or “Petit Tricheur”, we once again encounter what made the squadron trademark of the first album: a rock mix of synthetic music, or, as one sees fit, a rock synthesis of synesthesia.
One must also point out the panache behind the lyrics of Infecticide, such as in “Le monopole du coeur”, a phantasmagorical vision of the great dictators of our history; or in “Une petite motte de peur”, of which the hellish slomo dub accents of hell give us a friendly reminder of our condition as humans: “un chimpanzé en pull, un babouin maléfique” (“a chimpanzee in a sweater, a maleficient baboon”).
The heartening illustrations of Junie Briffaz add a final touch to these 13 firebrands. The physical object, touchable with the figures of one’s hand, offers 1 badge, 2 postcards, the lyrics, and a sticker.

“Poil de Cœur”, the 29th release of Da ! Heard It Records is distributed under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND license. The album is available for free listening and downloading at the following address:

Various Artists – netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic

[BSCOMP0050]

Various Artists

“netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic”

First and foremost, I’d like to send out an extra special thank you to all artists and netlabels who, over the years, have been part of our story through the netBloc series. When I first had the idea to begin this series in 2006, I really had no idea if anyone would be interested in being included on such a compilation series. I surely had no idea whether or not the listeners would come. Thankfully, the response was great and that has allowed us to build on that with our original release formats, as well! It’s been a hell of a ride thus far.

2016 promises to be an interesting year for us with new formats that will see us giving back to the Creative Commons community with very remix friendly content. It’s still too early to give away all the details of what we’ve got cooking, but stay tuned.

Today we’ve got netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic for you to enjoy — a selection that includes Hip-Hop, Synthpop, Indie, Rock, Electronic, Trip-Hop, Downtempo, Electro and Future Beats. A global collection which even includes a sneak-peak of a forthcoming Tha Silent Partner release, which is set to drop on February 9th!

Thanks again to all Vol. 50 artists and labels! As always, this series really couldn’t happen without you.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Die Leere im Kern Deiner Hoffnung – Freiheit Aushalten

[wuerfel 18]

Die Leere im Kern Deiner Hoffnung

“Freiheit Aushalten”

Bitch, please. Bequem geht die Welt zu Grunde. Viel Spaß dabei.

Chix – Chix

[SDR024]

Chix

“Chix”

Second release by the cosmic artist Chix, a journey into the human being’s duality.
Four songs, two sides: “Happy Side” and “Sad Side”. The first one includes “La rapina in pizzeria” and “Le amiche di funch”, two delirious genre songs, with cheeky lyrics, while “Gocce” and “Cinico” fulfil the introspective intention: they talk about love and ego.
Featuring Marina Carbone (choirs and guitars), who was an important contributor to the whole work.
Enjoy.

Ingenstansland – Farewell (The Damaged One)

Ingenstansland

” Farewell (The Damaged One) “

The only being, or entity, so far, that was, is, and always will be here for you is the universe. You always get guidance… the only guidance that makes sense. Even if sometimes it feels like you ended up in no man’s land, even if you feel isolated, lonely and miserable, remember – if it’s not a blessing, even in disguise, it’s a very valuable lesson then. The universe will not allow you to quit when there’s still so much to do here on Earth. And the changes… are just something that you have to welcome. Without the changes there wouldn’t be much point in existence on this planet. Farewell, The Damaged One. Everything can be healed with time. Even you.

“If I Could (Alt. Version)”

And now you really want
To get this pain away so
This time your body’s old
And heart is full of shame cause you

Where’s your angel?
How could you
Lose your angel
Why do you
Lose your angel
Life is shit
There is no magic
Left for you

Listen to me
Cause If I could
Could Come back to you
I would keep you heart safe
Cause if I could
I would make you smile
I would make your life shine

You hide it in the dark
The creatures push the strangers
Does anybody know?
You’re hiding hole in your heart so

about
Hello and welcome to the Underpopular hits compilation, the third of its kind!

This is the idea: everytime another 20 albums get released on the Underpolen Netlabel, the glorious father of the undernation, Jan Strach, lovingly selects one song from each release to compile into a presentation for all of mankind, to represent what Underpolen is all about.

And we are about freedom of creative expression, creativity with no boundaries, laughing in the face of genre divisions, we love slip-ups and false starts, accidental noises and experiments of all kind. Pixels, artifacts, blurs and smudges around the edges. Ballpoint marks, scratchmarks, fingerprints all over the lovely amateur, homemade creations.

And we would like to share all of it with you.

The lovingly murky, atmospheric rock of poj.wlkp, trapped in a world of eternal sunset;

The ever surprising imrpovised rock of Projekt Luty, where at all times there has to be at least one person included with no background in music whatsoever; ranging from noise and electronics, to casio backing psychedelic twisted soundscapes,

The mysterious, beautiful piano meanderings captured via dictaphone of Proyect? Moone Jazzers, a musician from western Europe who never told us who he was, sent us these lofi recordings and vanished;

The deconstruction of all that we know about rock music, straight from Deftechnixks;

The layered stream of consciousness synth loops amounting to a chillwave orgasmo from Everywhere Kingdom;

The many faces of Jan Strach, from goth rocker, through intricate meditations over an ocean, to casio melodies for children and full fledged electronified punk rock;

Noises and field-recording drones and collages of Secrets Of The 45, sometimes together with Romania’s Nava Spatiala;

Troglodisco of D.L.A.M.I.A.D., clashing ripped samples with a tact and style of a 12 year old deaf kid with elephant hands.

And as always three bonus tracks for your enjoyment because we love you dearly.

If you dig any of these artists in particular, there are links to their bandcamp accounts when you click on a track.

Cheers and thanks,
Jan Strach
