about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Jimmy Watt – Capture Emplace Recovery

Jimmy Watt – Capture Emplace Recovery
[SE077]

Jimmy Watt

“Capture Emplace Recovery”

Stato Elettrico presents a brand new release by Jimmy Watt from Santiago, Chile. His work methodology focuses mainly on the capture, extraction, editing and storage of audio samples from different sources:

records on the street
dialogues extracts
audiovisual edits and converts of radio signals
uses a shortwave radio to capture foreign broadcasts
uses EVP
911 calls
Transforms, relentlessly, curtails, beheads and sews sound works from different backgrounds and authors, providing the glue that comes from analog-digital instruments and audio processors and resulting in a “sound narration” split into parts.

His sound works do not drop below 20 minutes for just such narrative, where there is a development from defined introduction to epilogue.

Detests the “digital finishing” of sound with a computer. For that reason dirty, gnawing and saturated sounds prevail (but without spoiling the record), thus achieving kind of a sound archeology.

His creative concepts pursues mysticism, the occult, time, religions, the process that leads to contemplation, the silence, the pause, the suspension, death and upstarts.

Abuse of rhythm and melody is a necessary evil for those who can not handle a drift.
It’s like being in a large room without light. You need to touch the walls and artifacts that fill the room to feel welcome in the position and perspective.

About mini-album: “Are two works from 2014 which were remixed to form a single track. In both works the main concept was the phenomenologies of the suspended, the aural and the paramelodics.” Jimmy Watt

Organism – Blik

Organism – Blik
[PZO004]

Organism

“Blik”

ORGANISM – project playwright and musician Paul Rassolko from Minsk. Formed in 2002, the year with the acquisition of the analog synthesizer “Polivoks”, broken deck “Vega” and the Soviet equalizer. The advent of the computer in 2003 and it “embellish” the sound of music. Favorite software – “FL Studio 9” and “Adobe Audition 1.0” – that is, no “apples” and all that fashionable. ORGANISM is another Pavel’s project that is the most “listenable” and “poppy” compared to his own project [mikra].

Album “Blik” recorded mostly in the “live” via MIDI keyboard. The concept of old: music software, film fragments and other “sound”, randomly snatched from the Internet.

Number Eleven – Protrusion

Number Eleven – Protrusion
[EEM15]

Number Eleven

“Protrusion”

Protrusion is an epic and dreamy release, but boiling emotions will not let you dream about nice and positive things. As the artist himself describes: “suddenly all things that were piling up for years collapse into a destructive and painful fury against yourself, killing all emotions and resentments.” Every track of this album seems to be a separate journey, but all of them are connected by similar mood. “The defying of reality, absolute corruption of worldview”. But no one is crying in this album. It is more like a triumph of a narcissist against a wish to hide in the corner and cry.

Soma Happiens

“Results May Vary”

Every time I’m in the studio, it’s a new, different journey. I’m never really sure what’s going to come out. One’s mood, the choice of instruments, the flow of the moment – just some things of many, which tailor the experiment their own way. Everything’s just an experiment. And results may vary.

[pyr177]

Ken Moore & Daniel Barbiero

“Frequency Drift”

frequency drift is a collection of seven collaborative compositions for double bass and tam tams. the compositions were created sequentially: the double bass parts were composed and recorded first, after which the tam tam parts were recorded and mixed with the bass parts. the appeal of the project lay in the opportunity to create work exploring the compositional possibilities opened up by the subtle timbral dissonance between the double bass’s bowed strings and the tam tams’ struck and rubbed metal.

Lil’ Stewy – Break Free feat. Tha Real U & The Essence

Lil’ Stewy – Break Free feat. Tha Real U & The Essence
[SMH001]

Lil’ Stewy

“Break Free feat. Tha Real U & The Essence”

‘Break Free’ is a cross-regional collaboration between three regions of the South African Western Cape province.

The song features both West Coast and South Coast rappers, namely Tha Real U and Lil Stewy, accompanied by an Overberg artist known as The Essence.
It is the first Shaloma Muzik release by Lil Stewy, after joining the label in November 2014. The song anticipates the #ShalomaFuture series, proposed by the label for the year 2015. Upon release, ‘Break Free’ reached the Soundcloud Download Limit of 100 downloads after 3 hours and 38 minutes, making it the most rapidly downloaded Shaloma Muzik release to date.

It reflects the life of the three artist and their outlook at possible stardom. Knowing that they would need to increase their artistic reputation and build their careers in music, they each reflect on what it means to break free from everyday life through their passion for music and how this passion is interlinked with their reverence for God.

The song could be linked to a previous Shaloma Muzik release in 2012 known as ‘Long Nights’. This was the first Shaloma Muzik breakthrough release into the West Coast Hip-Hop community. Similarly, ‘Break Free’ became Shaloma’s breakthrough into various other communities – and audiences. It is the first release by the label after it’s redevelopment.

The first verse sees Lil Stewy introducing his ambitions with reference to his faith in the Lord and the promise he finds thereof.

The song continues with Tha Real U analyzing what his life feels like on a regular basis, and touches on what he aspires to withhold or reach. It also tickles the current state of Hip-Hop as Real U critiques and expresses his remorse thereof.

The concluding verse by The Essence provides a summary of both the previous two verses through the perspective of the rapper’s life.

Essence mentions that music is his release and expresses that although fame and stardom might not be reached, music is still a tool for expression.
He then adds that with God everything is possible to those who believe, motivating the listeners to put their faith in a Higher-being and striving to achieve their dreams.

Grand Guru

“Hard Cunt Fuck E.P.”

Absolutely black, resolutely extremist, metallically chaotic, at the crossroads of experimental garage and industrial boogie, blues and psychotic Transylvanian noisy, Grand Guru’s kinda rock’n’roll is brought to the world, without an epidural, in form of birth of the monsters and nightmares that haunt our Rouen-based sorcerer.

This is fuckn’ rock & Roll !

Bainmass

“Love Tribute ep”

IYE07 – BAINMASS – LOVE TRIBUTE EP

Bainmass it’s a beat creator, a demiurge that forges new rhythms from existing structures, it shapes and gives them a new life. Bainmass it’s the beat under the skin, it’s a blink of an eye that merges with a fly of a seagulls and becomes a beat before it touches down.

Bainmass it’s a believer in the idea of the beat, searching like a surfer for the perfect wave. Member of the collective Ventidita http://ventidita.podomatic.com/ gives us the honour to release with In Your Ears, for another title of his incedible beats.

You can find him at the Circolo L’Alieno in Genoa where there are good situations, with the tireless Roberta. If there were more people like Bainmass the world would be a better place.

Leave the word to lady music.

Kai Engel – Rain Catcher

Kai Engel – Rain Catcher
[SCL155]

Kai Engel

“Rain Catcher”

Kai’s work is often based on stories, but the sixth album of a russian composer is a whole story itself. Rewind the clock to ‘Irsen’s Tale’ time and listen to neoclassical piano compositions once again, only much more mature and polished. While in a lot of ways it’s a Kai Engel you’re used to, ‘Rain Catcher’ will talk about something new, about a boy, out there in a night sky with stars, rain and finally dawn. It’s all in piano sound.

Akane Hosaka – Loop Music

Akane Hosaka – Loop Music

Akane Hosaka

“Loop Music”

Wrieuw is thrilled to release a collection of loop music by the wonderful Akane Hosaka. After 4 albums of gleeful, quirky electronica Akane dives headlong into experimental territory whilst maintaining the sound that is uniquely hers, using a Korg MS-20 Mini and a loop pedal. Akane has regularly been posting the results of these experimentations to here soundcloud page, and she has kindly collected together an EP of these for Wriuew. To my mind in places it sounds like a lost soundtrack to an Oliver Postgate program, either way, experimental music doesn’t get cuter than this, bleeps, bloops and joyful melodies abound. Wrieuw loves releasing music it loves and we have been fans of Akane for a very long time, we hope you enjoy this collection as much as we do.

Marc Stapleford – Eight Dreams

Marc Stapleford – Eight Dreams

Marc Stapleford

“Eight Dreams”

Marc has been in the business for a while, being a member of the recording and touring band Beautiful 2000 but since the breakup of that band, he’s been writing and recording his own material.
This extended EP of eight songs was recorded after a long visit to Kobe, Japan in 2004. Inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams, ‘Eight Dreams’ was recorded, played, written, mixed, mastered and produced by Marc Stapleford. It has a delightful mixture of laid-back acoustic and electronic-flavoured textures, with the odd turntable and field recording thrown in.
“Eight dreams dreamt in one night. From young to old. This record is in celebration of human spirit and imagination. Long live us.”
