about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Makunouchi Bento – Ne/Re-văzut Muscel (Original Music by Makunouchi Bento)

Makunouchi Bento

“Ne/Re-văzut Muscel (Original Music by Makunouchi Bento)”

The original soundtrack we made for Ioana Nicoară & Sergiu Negulici (Reniform) and Cinty Ionescu (Asociația Narative)’s “Ne/Re-văzut Muscel” project.
These are not songs, but background sonic illustrations, meant to play along with AR 3D animations and people telling their stories. Normally, they are designed to play continuously: there are 3 looped audio tracks, of different length, for each “song” – when played together, the overall sense of repetition is less obvious.
Here you can listen to short, ~3m rendered demos. We strongly advise you to download the album, find the 3 images included in the archive, install the Reniform app on your smartphone and use it to see the whole thing. The texts / vocal tracks are Romanian only.

Nine AR installations embedded in the urban space transform the city into a living archive. Each intervention point becomes a gateway to personal stories and collective memory. Through the use of technology, these works do more than add a visual layer—they open up a different kind of dialogue with the city, one in which the gaze slows down and memory is reactivated through themes that resonate with contemporary collective identity.

The nine AR works are built around stories of the city that are representative of its collective identity, carefully selected and drawn from the archive of multimedia artist Cinty Ionescu. These stories are recontextualized by visual artists Ioana Nicoară and Sergiu Negulici through 3D animations and are embedded within original audio compositions created by sound artists Makunouchi Bento, Sorin Păun, and Alex Bălă.

The AR works were made available to residents and visitors through a free application installed on their personal smartphones. Their placement in public or unconventional urban spaces was accompanied by events and activations and is documented on both a physical and digital map included in the interactive catalogue NE/RE-VĂZUT: Muscel.

“We are like Ulysses, hidden under the sheeps, safe from the eye of the Cyclop. It’s time to retaliate before he catches us.”

Special Thanks to Seebille for helping this album to come alive.

Dedicated to all the ICE victims, especially Renee Good & Alex Pretti but they are only the top of the ICEberg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deaths_in_ICE_detention and to anyone struggling against ICE, Fascism and Imperialism.

(In france the cops are killing too, this month it was El-Hacen-Diarra. In Iran it’s more than 20 000 protesters killed, 40 000 are in jail and can be executed quickly. Cops are not the only murderers, more than 70 000 Palestinians killed between October 2023 and 2024. In Rojava the kurdes are in danger and 50 000 civilians have been already displaced. What a sick world…)

Yogurt for Breakfast – Help Wanted

[pn249]

Yogurt for Breakfast

“Help Wanted”

The release “Help Wanted” by Yogurt for Breakfast (Emilio Adasme) is a journey that involves the painstaking deconstruction of a sonic fragment into unique spaces, where the sample comes alive, being played like an instrument, as the performer explores the complex relationship between rhythm, melody, and timbre. It is the beautiful experience of witnessing a beat flow and stretch into a passage full of layers — or listening as it suddenly collapses into itself, sounding almost like a guitarist juxtaposing rapid passages, pauses, and fluctuating melodies that hover in the limbo between tone and rhythm.

It is expression carried to its highest potential: using the smallest grain of sound and shaping it into an architecture that is both intricate and thrilling. At times we are given glimpses of its raw material; moments later, we witness its metamorphosis and allow ourselves to be enveloped by its striking presence. It’s astonishing to hear how something so tiny becomes disassembled, revealing its inner complexity — and even more exciting when we recognize its origin, yet find it transformed into something entirely different.

It’s funny that the majority of these sounds feel both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time, creating a strange duality of closeness and distance. We experience a kind of Berenstain-syndrome effect, where we believe we recognize something even though we are not certain what it is.

To sum up, I find it remarkable how something so small and recognizable can turn into such a complex, unsettling monster — all thanks to the exploration of sound with the sensitivity of someone playing an instrument, where fluidity breathes life into something that feels both familiar and entirely new.

Dee Dee Poo

“disfunk”

So, here’s Jag Wacoa with Herr Klaus in their Schlafzimmer. Found some tracks, he said. Actually, pretty strong, he adds. Oh ja? Herr Klaus asks, not convinced – he’s being piss-artistly discouraged. Take a listen. Herr Klaus does. Well well. Not so bad. But let’s do add some details. So they do, add some syncopation, some swishes and clicks, some boom, and here you go with some spruced up, heavyly layerd bedroom funk that will rob your sleep

M-PeX – Dialugus

[enrmp556]

M-PeX

“Dialugus”

New album by Portuguese project M-PeX. Between electronica and Portuguese guitar, between piano and silence, the album DIALUGUS unfolds as a journey in waves – fragments becoming flow, rhythms that breathe, light that fades and returns. Each track is an act of listening, and each listening becomes a dialogue – between stone and sky, between shadow and brightness, between what is spoken and what is felt. Created within the PRALAC artistic residency, released by Enough Records, with artwork by Marco Madruga, this album by M‑PeX is dedicated to his grandmother, Celeste Pinheiro, born on 25.05.1925. This year marks her centenary. This album breathes with her.

“Radio Pirate”

The Necrophile Hummingbird Non Profit Netlabel presents Radio Pirate by ardleg.

“When the music is over… the radio is still on air”

One more Plunderphonics Masterpiece ! Would say the virtual sandwich man… When you reach a difficult point… listen the F… word : épreuve… in the 21st century… would say the insane translator… but me, I’m only speaking of the track number 21… when you realize that yes, it’s a challenge, and this pirate radio isn’t going to hack your brain, but… it’s tight close.

– So never give this kind of album to sensitive people like me !!

– That said, I really like it, it’s very disruptive and the kind of thing that’s perfect for end-of-the-world holiday meals.

– In the 23rd I heard the voice of God. (The French call it “dieu”)

– No, I’m just speaking normally, I don’t see what you mean.

– Do you want to release it on the Necrophile Hummingbird Netlabel on December 30th?

– I’d love to. It’s unusual, but a nice culmination. What are you going to do now that the music is finished?

– Oh, nothing, may be, just keep creating really beautiful, psychoactive music.

– Is this practically an introduction?

This could have been written by an Artificial Intelligence… If there are only Artificial Intelligences behind the screen, what the point to keep it human ?
Perhaps because when the lines are blurred, we need to focus on what is the real humanity : unsubdued & untamed & underground. The Necrophile Hummingbird Non Profit Netlabel presents Radio Pirate by ardleg

“End Of System Music for End of Time Music Lovers”

Improvisation recorded the 7th October 2025 at Le Champ Du Possible (The Possibility’s Field) in Dole https://www.soloist.ai/atelierkol We did a trilogy of double albums and I thought why don’t we try to do a Quadruple album under the same name ? And we did it. Next we released all the 4 album inside this 4 hours album. What a mess indeed.

Members :
Master of Ceremony : Psyché Pelik
Disc Jockey (indeed mostly electric & electronic devices) : Yoshiwaku Mushotoku

About the artwork I took this photo the 1st May in London, I didn’t know I was a slave, I didn’t know I will be free few weeks later. I do know I will never go back to such toxic relationship. Thanks to Psyché Pelik for being there during this spawn.

Dedicated to all the people who died in 2025 to allow the super rich people to make more profit. Never forget that, behind any illusions, there are only the people at the top waging war against the bottom people. To end the war, it needs not only to cut their heads, but also to change ourselves, because we have let them climb to the top. As long there will be the exploitation of the one by the others, there will be people at the top of the exploited pyramid.

“Roads Through the Mirror – 3. Poetry: Canvas of the Soul’s Eye”

universal archetypes in orchestral ambient pieces

Roads Through the Mirror is a conceptual music project spanning 11 orchestral pieces, each approximately an hour long, with a completion timeline of 4-5 years.

Inspired by Andrei Tarkovsky’s films and Marcel Proust’s exploration of time, the series aims to musically articulate themes like spirituality, nostalgia, dreams, and nature.

The project delves into the Time-Space-Thought Theorem, utilizing Sonic Archetypes to explore the interconnectedness of human existence through music.

“7 Marvels”

The Necrophile Hummingbird non profit netlabel presents 7 Marvels by Valérie Bourquin and Ed End.

“Essential Music for Organic Music Lovers”

Recorded and mixed in Franche-Comté in November 2025.
Sometimes the sonic worlds of certain people collide, and albums like 7 Marvels are created.

The artwork was created using a Marvel comix hijack done with woodblock print by a Kathmandu artist, to incorporate it into our own culture is a clever way to combat cultural imperialism. So special thanks to Bardo Matrix, the publishing house founded by Angus MacLise and Ira Cohen, which published Cohen’s 7 Marvels.

Dedicated to those who refuses that war become their reality and know that despite the whole History horror, it seems still not enough for humanity to learnt.
So we hope each one will struggle, by any ways possible, against the militarism and all the wars.

Coffee Faith, I See The Sound Project

“(10PM-35) Coffee Faith & I See The Sound Project – Mentas”

“Mentas” menandai babak baru bagi COFFEE FAITH setelah jeda panjang beberapa tahun. Lagu ini menjadi pintu pulang, sekaligus titik loncatan untuk kembali menyapa pendengar yang merindukan warna khas mereka.

Di karya ini, COFFEE FAITH menggandeng Jovan dari I See The Sound Project.

Timezone Lafontaine – Unrealest

[BSOG0152]

Timezone Lafontaine

“Unrealest”

Some records speak to the moment. Unrealest documents it.

With his ninth blocSonic release, Timezone Lafontaine crafts an album that’s as intellectually dense as it is sonically raw. This is the artist in full architect mode-constructing a sonic space where broken tech, political unease, and identity fatigue all collide into an abstract reality you can live inside. If only for 37 minutes.

“Big Picture” turns advertising jargon into philosophical horror. “Tech Noir” explores seduction as surveillance. “The Ratio” gives voice to the creative’s dilemma in a world built for consumption. Together, these songs form a kind of audio collage—fragmented, frenzied, and painfully accurate.

TZLF’s collaborators lean all the way in. Headsnack, CM aka Creative, 34Pro, Blak Madeen, Donnie Ozone, and Cheese N Pot-C all show up not just as guests but as co-conspirators. Their verses aren’t just about skill, they’re tethered to the album’s themes like layers in a shared thesis. “Let’s Go” is less a cypher and more a collective manifesto.

What elevates Unrealest is its emotional depth. Amid the data paranoia and cultural critique, there’s a search for connection, for creative meaning. “Stay High” and “Victory Lap” show a different side of the project—where resistance becomes rhythm, and the act of creating is a form of healing.

Sonically, the album fuses lo-fi textures with hi-concept execution. It’s dusty, distorted, and filled with spectral voices—some sampled, some real, all relevant. It’s not trying to polish the sound of the moment, it’s trying to record the feeling of living through it.

Timezone Lafontaine doesn’t offer escapism. Unrealest asks you to stay. To look. To listen.

Because sometimes the only way through unreality… is to make something real.

After a few years, it’s great to finally have a new album by the man who’s been bringing us the incredible 20-Minute Workout on Tha Bloc Report! This album is such a beautiful sonic and lyrical journey… mega thanks to Timezone and all collaborators!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!
