Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. Jose Miguel Candela – Hombres en Círculo Durante el Hechizo del Tiempo

Jose Miguel Candela – Hombres en Círculo Durante el Hechizo del Tiempo
[pn185]

Jose Miguel Candela

“Hombres en Círculo Durante el Hechizo del Tiempo”

I composed “Hombres en Círculo Durante el Hechizo del Tiempo” (Men in a Circle During the Spell of Time) in 1998 for the choreography and video-dance homonyms of «La Vitrina» dance company (Chile). This scenic creation sought to pay tribute to the ancient cultures of the extreme south of America (Aonikenk, Yamana, Selk’nam, Alakaluf), claiming and valuing their heritage through a reinterpretation from contemporary dance. In other words, it was not a representational rescue of the possible original Fuegian dances, but rather a western and contemporary «artifact». Thus, it also tried to testify through its artistic materiality on the extermination policy to which Chile subjected these cultures.

Today, 23 years after its composition, I present this music for the first time on a disc, thus adding a new volume to the “Greatest Dance Hits Collection”, a series of publications that compiles the music that I have composed for contemporary dance during the latter 25 years.

The music was made for 1 and 2 string quartets, with eventual sound interventions and electronic processes, and also with a delicate treatment of its internal space. I worked for its creation with different shamanic songs used by Lola Kiepja (last Selk’nam shaman) and recorded by the Canadian anthropologist Anne Chapman in Tierra del Fuego. In this way, both, I made variations of these songs and re-constructions “in style”, imitating their rhythmic and melodic characteristics. All this in a minimalist context and with free development.

Although the choreographic work claimed to have four parts (“La ausencia, la fragmentación”, “La muerte muerde silenciosa la carne”, “La vida: la recolección – la caza”, and “El rito”), for this album I decided to propose more divisions, to be faithful to the musical structure (a structure that was related to choreography in an interdependent way). In any case, I indicate in the name of the track to which part of the choreographic work each of the 9 tracks on this album belongs.

Gerardo Figueroa Rodriguez – 6×216 Mixtape

Gerardo Figueroa Rodriguez – 6×216 Mixtape
[pnmxt006]

Gerardo Figueroa Rodriguez

“6×216 Mixtape”

“…6×216 is the living proof that process art does not always materialize in a snevering result. Au contraire, the auteur’s mathematical methodology for interpolating material is based on sound quality care. It is this feature that makes Christian Marclay’s experiments and Grandmaster Flash technique valuable. Process shapes music, but it is Figueroa’s approach which, in this case, leads to a sound acrostic hidden in more than a decade of Chilean electronic music…”

“…The interesting thing here is the musical coherence behind this frantic, dense journey. Electroacoustic music, noise, field recordings, musique concrète, and dance music coexist, showing both an evident fragmentation and an elegant integration. It invites the receiver to an attentive state, ears opened, grabbing details, recognizing – or making believe to – samples, separating and connecting sounds, thus going through Pueblo Nuevo catalog.

“The mixtape presents a panoramic picture of the freedom the netlabel has made its catalog with: crossing over genres, grassroots and academy alike, well-known and rookies, embedded in Pueblo Nuevo’s DNA – all of which this mixtape unveils…”

Osvaldo Sotomayor Rojo
(Santiago, Chile. Abril / April 2021)

“… Is it possible to condense 15 years of Pueblo Nuevo history into just three and a half minutes of music? Like a magician who generously teaches his tricks, the liner notes provide interesting details of how the auteur accomplished this feat, exhaustively explaining the methodology used, demonstrating a rigorously intellectual planning and, yet, suggesting an openness and willingness to let “chance” freely and spontaneously intervene in the work unfolding. What at first glance seems an obvious contradiction between intellect and intuition, turns into a perfect mind and heart balance, leading me to think that chance, as such, does not exist in any life experience, but facts happen in a true becoming of synchronicity, where, on a deeper level, everything is connected in some invisible but clearly palpable way. This willingness in turn allowed Gerardo Figueroa Rodríguez to establish a working method which, consciously and unconsciously, left room for the work itself to portray its making patterns, becoming an instrument or channel, instead of standing as a creator in full force. Thus, Figueroa seeks to minimize his personal bias: trying to step aside, almost invisible. Even then, adopting this very attitude constitutes an inescapable hallmark, typical of any author, giving this mixtape itself the category of auteurial, musical work…”

Mauk Tenieb

“Esiön”

Can’t help seeing images from Blade Runner. Deckard tiredly gazing at the score on his piano. Roy and Pris in the Bradbury Building. It’s but one evocation though, and Mauk Tenieb’s album is lush with them. Murky bars some decades from now, where robot pets scurry around rugged looking patrons. The sand haze in the Texan desert where, just like that, William Burroughs might appear to you in a dream to let you know that… We’ll let you find out for yourself. In the meantime, you can listen to lots of 20kbps, which now has Mauk Tenieb’s new album Esiön. All in one track, because it’s best taken in as a whole.

Me As In You

“What’cha Wanna Do EP”

For years Mike Gregoire, the founding owner of blocSonic has been making music as mGee. With What’cha Wanna Do EP that changes. He’s now releasing original new music as Me As In You. The EP is essentially a maxi-single for a great new electronic/house track “Wanna (Right Now)” featuring various versions of the song, including an epic 13+ minute version. Anyway, there’s more to be said about the new artist name and direction, but Mike speaks about it in the liner-notes PDF, so be sure to check it out. Download and enjoy.

Jose Miguel Candela – Chacabuco

Jose Miguel Candela – Chacabuco
[pn184]

Jose Miguel Candela

“Chacabuco”

The first edition of “Chacabuco” (in cassette format) was in 1996. In this the music composed for the choreography and video-dance * homonyms of the La Vitrina dance company (Chile), where the experience was rescued of the bodies that suffered the Chacabuco saltpeter mine works as an economic prison (in times of the nitrate boom) and as a concentration camp (during the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile). This music was not only my first of many collaborations with this artistic collective, but it was also my first composition for contemporary dance, an artistic field to which I have dedicated my musical life ever since. Today, 25 years after its composition and editing, I present this music again, remastered for its virtual disk format, to share this piece of history with new generations.

With this album, we also inaugurated, always with Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel‘s unconditional support, the “Greatest Dance Hits Collection”. This series of publications will attempt to compile the music that I have composed for contemporary dance during the last 25 years.

All work was composed, sequenced, and mixed on the Ensoniq TS-12 workstation. Much of the sounds of “Chacabuco” were recorded directly there and then sampled for use in this workstation.

In the text of the original 1996 cassette, it noted the following:

Being in Chacabuco is not an experience that is easily forgotten: all that strength contained in each of its machines (“cachuchos”), in its streets and houses destroyed by deaf sounds, in its land (crunchy by the saltpeter), and in its evening wind (a great shaker of unclamped roofs) leaves a mark, an invisible (but powerful) mark, in the last emotional corners of those who visit it. I hope that these intangible impressions are somehow reflected in this composition.

The resulting language of “Chacabuco” would not have been possible without my previous “Give me a Loop”, a personal project born in May 1996. “Give me a Loop” reflects my search for intimate corporal rhythms (search for a corporal ritual), and therefore of a musical language according to this search. From another point of view, the loop (the repetitive cycle and in this case, the micro-cycle) is found as an independent life; in its spatial movement, and at the same time trapped in its limitations; releasing itself through repetition, but dying out to make way for new cycles.

Finally, “Las huellas del Pequeño Venado” (“The Little Deer Traces”) (completed in December 1996), is also inserted within this language. The Huichol shamans, in one of their sacred rites, manage to see these footprints of the little deer (magical animal), the one that will lead them to the first peyote. For this reason, it is the beginning of the journey to the unknown.

(*) “Chacabuco – eslabón en la memoria” is the first video-dance in the history of the genre in Chile.

[LCNLP122]

Petit Bourdon X PYR X Willy Marleen

“K7 Split Petit Bourdon X PYR X Willy Marleen”

(Version française en bas)
The netlabel the necrophile hummingbird presents a Split between Petit Bourdon X PYR X Willy Marleen.
“Wild music for non-domesticated animals”.
Outside the ordinary circuits, hand to hand, underground music cassettes
are exchanged, and testifies to the resilience of Do-It-Yourself in the digital age.
“Nothing should be sacred, no one should be scared” is as much the anthem of plunderphonic music than of punk, when it waltzes the crowns of queens and kings of this world, in what brings them closest to a certain idea of the anarchy. Even nature laughs softly at the posture of some of its worshipers, who without knowing it would like to perpetuate what assassinates it. Because nature is overflowing, subversion and wild joy, uncontrollable, the balance is unstable, always upset by extreme experiences, accidents. It is an invitation to release the mad torrent because without it there is no clear source, just an arid desert as far as the eye can see.
At a time when robots are traveling on Mars, it is a great joy to find the intact energy that animated this netlabel at its origin, to be able to offer one more testimony to the existence of horsnorme (non-standard) currents.

Find back Willy Marleen in virtual and on cassettes in his duo Zinzinuler
zinzinuler.bandcamp.com/

May the celebration of the Commune not be a sad tribute, but an endless celebration in the present, that of the ongoing humanity liberation.

(English Translation at the top)

Jazzdefector & Gaetano Fontanazza

“Chiaroscuro”

The duo of Sebastian Buccheri (guitars) and Gaetano Fontanazza (gong, singing bowls) lands on Sucu Music and delivers a five piece, almost sixty minutes long album drenched in harmonies for the soul.
“After the storm” fills the air with rarefied guitar notes supported in the beginning by a substratum of vibrating bowls which becomes more and more prominent as the song goes on and fades to the end.
“Beginnings” lets the gong take its spotlight, leading glitches and guitar gusts as the song evolves in thousands directions willing to fill the air surrounding us.
“Chiaroscuro” is the pièce de résistance of the whole platter. Within its 23 minutes you will be taken by the hand and transported in the minds of the two musicians, an extracorporeal transmutation from listener to performer in which we become the director of everything that’s going on around and inside us.
“From nothing” bring us back to earth like a gentle wind born from the soundwaves of the song itself, taking us wherever our minds are willing to be.
“Thai Chi” ends the experience with a choir of singing bowls entering our ears and vibrating our brains, while the guitar draws paths of notes leading the way to the awareness of our present and future immortal self.

Elite Border – Jornada Laboral N°1

Elite Border – Jornada Laboral N°1
[pn182]

Elite Border

“Jornada Laboral N°1”

Elite Border decided not making it easy for the ones approaching this behemoth opus. A hypothetical eight-hour-working shift turned into a Julio Cortázar like sonic coven. Almost 500 minutes, to be approached in any order, from a series of listening instructions. The album (?) refers to intermingled references. There are glimpses of 1980s indie cassette underground, industrial experiences, but also from concrète and electroacoustic, “serious” music (so to speak); monologues, certain melodic atmospheres diluted to sheer abstraction: noise as raw material and aesthetic discipline (once again).

More than experimenting, there is a leaning towards discipline in our environments’ habitable chaos. A continuum marked by timelessness and an all-encompassing sonic feeling anywhere. Everywhere. Sections filled with rock vigor or oozing city folklore, replacing rural charm with factory rattling and urban atmosphere. Sheer electricity outbursts mingled with brittle notes, while strings introducing glossy melancholy shades. Since this is a proposal based on a dual concept, provided by Pedro Pablo Pedroso (Baltazár) and Pablo Enelotromundo García, it is extended by several guests, weaving an almost unrecognizable skein of instrumental voices. A passage towards ubiquity, the nerve of a present time in crisis.

Where Throbbing Gristle, Stockhausen, Ron Geesin, Merzbow, Kagel, Alain Neffe, Ground Zero current heirs, and any barrier-free sound sniper from last century onwards meet, Elite Border has found a realm between listening inevitability and the dense architecture of dreams. It takes time to face their “Jornada Laboral N°1”, but the imagery comes out startlingly alive from the experience.

rADio eNd

“We Are The Intermorphs”

The necrophile hummingbird netlabel and HAMFUGGI Records present We Are The Intermorphs by rADio eNd, a tribute to John C. Lilly.

“Synchronicity Music for Related People”.

About the surface of the album :
Despite being release after Genesis Launch & Sound therapy this is the first album of rADio eNd, so you may think the goal was to design the sound of the project but it’s the opposite it’s because this sound was not fitting with any previous project that rADio eNd is born. That’s why there is no real influences despite perhaps it’s rooted to many previous netlabel’s projects with recent albums such as Junk DNA III or Shagreen Tape… or older ones like Hibakusha Jinx or Zvezda MIX.
Perhaps you can skin it out and find industrial Method, Trip Hop Rhythms, Avant Garde Turntablism… But you shall better turn off your reason, to walk with coincidences and take it as weird psychedelic trip.

About the depths of this album :
A dive into consciousness, including pressure stops with high risks of depths intoxication.
Light is such a mesmerising essence when it is watch from the abyss.

The idea to do a tribute to John C. Lilly came from Studio 112.
Thanks a lot to the providers of the genium’s sources.

In loving memory of Peter & Lizzie and all the dolphins sacrifice in John C. Lilly experiments.

We hope this album will help to focus on the animal rights problems.
We are responsable of our choices.
We think one fine way to change the world is to be aware of the power of our acts.
There is no life without Consciousness.

Lilly also wrote that there are nine conditions that should be followed by people who seek to experience coincidence in their own lives:

You must know/assume/simulate our existence in E.C.C.O.
You must be willing to accept our responsibility for control of your coincidences.
You must exert your best capabilities for your survival programs and your own development as an advancing/advanced member of E.C.C.O.’s earthside corps of controlled coincidence workers. You are expected to use your best intelligence in this service.
You are expected to expect the unexpected every minute, every hour of every day and of every night.
You must be able to maintain conscious/thinking/reasoning no matter what events we arrange to happen to you. Some of these events will seem cataclysmic/catastrophic/overwhelming: remember stay aware, no matter what happens/apparently happens to you.
You are in our training program for life: there is no escape from it. We (not you) control the long-term coincidences; you (not we) control the shorter-term coincidences by your own efforts.
Your major mission on earth is to discover/create that which we do to control the long-term coincidence patterns: you are being trained on Earth to do this job.
When your mission on planet Earth is completed, you will no longer be required to remain/return there.
Remember the motto passed to us (from G.C.C. via S.S.C.U.): “Cosmic Love is absolutely Ruthless and Highly Indifferent: it teaches its lessons whether you like/dislike them or not.

Also Go With It or Never Walk was create first for Field Mice ESVB Vol. 3 Tape was not planned to be in the album, but after many listen seems it’s better to include it. radiomulot.bandcamp.com/

Why dNe oiDAr ?

First we planned to create this tribute with PIRATE Tapes…
But after listening the album it was obviously more sounding like the mutant child of TKno BeurK and A Symbiotic Experience.

What about rADio eNd ?

While I wrote this I’ve got an advertissement for nasty amazon music service on my phonecell. It was tricky to share our free music after the record compagnies did their best to erase the peer2peer softwares. It was more tricky after deezer and spotify make hardly possible to the free music to be available to their listeners. Could sound weird but they keep them jail in a bubble ^^. The example of Netflix for films and series in my opinion was not that much a problem because cinema need bigger funds than music and hollywood is not doing cinema but entertrainement, so I enjoy the idea that indie directors can create films with more freedom. But for the music I can’t imagine a world where nearly all the audience is lockdown on amazon music. First because each one do not need all the music of the world, indeed a simple real radio could be more enjoyable than tones of garbage muzak. And more accurate to the actual use of music. Halas they probably have got already an algorhythm to get your own radio based on your own tastes, including the possibility to enlarge that tastes… So the eNd for the muzik as we know it ? Perhaps it’s like organic versus industrial, few listeners understand that the vibe, energie, spirit of the music include by some way our being, if someone create some music to share it free whatever how it sounds it will never feed your soul the same way than the music create to make profit. So happy to bring you this very open project.

You may notice that the name of this project is in straight line of post situationist industrial culture detournement. Obviously a name squatting of Radiohead. Copythief Attitude. This music is free, usually in the capitalist system this would be consider for most of the listeners as something without value. Junk. Indeed it’s the opposite, actually in this upside down world nothing is more valuable than anything really free. Take Care to Keep the Free Culture Alive. Let’s share.
