com o andar de 2004 acabei entrando em experimentações mais profundas com samples e batidas, eventualmente combinando-os com melodias dissonantes e obsessivas. foi um dos anos musicalmente mais prolíficos da minha adolescência. graças a isso, finalmente pude sentir minha evolução como produtor em tempo real. antes daquele ano, todas as minhas músicas soavam iguais pra mim. depois daquele ano aprendi a me ouvir e a perceber que podia soar muito diferente de música pra música, sem nunca deixar de ser eu: talvez eu estivesse desenvolvendo um estilo?

” was a short-lived collective owned by Bayview Financial Trading Group parodying the fast food chain that started in November 2021 and became inactive in January 2022. Anyone was allowed to login to the Bandcamp page and upload whatever they wanted, resulting in a very unique and varied set of releases. This album compiles them all into one package. Holy cow, what’s broken? Have we taken leave of our senses? Quite the opposite: we know exactly what we’re doing and we sense (sic!) that this album by Lilac Complex (our new addition to the Würfel) will be huge. And we sincerely ask you not to take the title of the album as a call to action – or if you do, then simply delete all the other tracks in your music collection, except for Lilac Complex. Because this release takes no prisoners.
We hear digital-harsh drum’n’bass with a wonderfully outrageous retrofuturistic sound aesthetic. Wait, what does that mean again? Ok, glad you asked. One thing at a time.
„Retrofuturistic“ refers to a vision of the future from times gone by, in this case drum’n’bass from the 90s, as it was celebrated on countless Playstation 1 games. Everything tends to be 12 rather than 32 bit, with small glitches and a certain digital harshness, but getting the maximum sound out of the limited possibilities. Until the chips glow and the computer crashes. Cyberpunk is the word of the hour and the future will be breathtaking. Digital freedom galore.
“Outrageous” is of course an insinuation, because this “looting” in seemingly past worlds of sound is not done here naively reproducing, but with a keen eye and, above all, sharpened ears from the present day. In postmodern arbitrariness, not everything is arbitrary, but only available at the same time and invites you to hunt and collect and then sort in and out. Whatever is needed at the moment.
„Wonderful“ in the end is what has emerged here: a musical time machine. But the journey not only goes back to the 90s but also (yes, why not) into the future. Throw a little industrial, metal, glitchcore and bitcrusher into the maelstrom and let the machine run at maximum until it screeches and gives up the ghost. Only to then beg its owner to please, please not dispose of it. Fortunately for us, her pleas were heeded by Lilac Complex. We can only hope that this old, slightly broken machine (which has only just survived a nuclear explosion) will be started up again in the future. Regardless of whether this future is rosy or rusty.
Briefly about the artist: Lilac Complex lives and works in the south-east of the USA. That’s all that matters at the moment.
Monofónicos Netlabel presenta su nuevo lanzamiento con el artista DIPT y su álbum llamado ‘Aural Visions’ donde la música alcanza la atmósfera de paisajes sonoros hipnóticos.
Un álbum que promueve los ritmos suaves y los sonidos envolventes que se entrelazan para crear una experiencia muy atrayente, creadas a partir de instrumentos análogos, grabaciones de campo, sintetizadores que proyectan sonidos atrapantes. Es una muestra perfecta de cómo el micro house puede ser tanto relajante como estimulante al mismo tiempo.

Cyanea es el nuevo proyecto entre la colaboración del dúo colombo-venezolano integrado por los productores Dsum y Mata. Ambos con una pasión compartida por la música electrónica dub-atmosférica y deep, se unieron para crear el disco debut llamado “Strepto Sonaris” en Monofónicos Netlabel.
Formado en 2022, Cyanea encontró su unidad creativa mientras residían en Orlando, Florida. Ambos artistas aportaron sus experiencias y bagajes culturales al proyecto, dando como resultado una aventura sónica que rinde homenaje a la atmósfera templada de las montañas andinas.
El EP contiene tres tracks grabados en colaboración, que muestran su capacidad para crear composiciones sustanciales que traspasan los límites y desafían las nociones convencionales de la música electrónica. Los dos primeros cortes, “Strepto Sonaris” y “Compas”, captan la esencia del sonido de Cyanea, con melodías etéreas y grooves irresistibles que cautiva a los oyentes con sus ritmos hipnotizadores. En la tercera pista, “Auriceps”, su estilo se influencia con Detroit donde la música brilla por su delicioso diseño de sintetizadores melódicos y espacial hacia la nueva expresión de música electrónica de alto nivel.
Por otro lado, la contribución en solitario de Dsum a este lanzamiento con dos tracks más un remix con el productor sueco Samuel L. Session. Conocido por su legendario e impulsor sonido Techno, Samuel L. aporta su interpretación de “Temptation”, añadiendo una nueva dimensión al EP y ampliando su paleta sónica.

The title of the album and the titles of the individual tracks already suggest it: It’s about futuristic soundscapes, strange seeming sounds, but also loops and here and there beats. Dominik Vogel operates with his modular system once again at the intersection of techno, IDM, ambient and sound art. All of this, as it were, at the open heart, because everything is as always recorded live in one pass and only minimally post-processed.
If you’ve ever had the thought that Dominik Vogel looks like the commander of a spaceship on his equipment, you’re welcome to fully embrace that notion here. Two young test listeners commented on the album independently of each other with the words: “Sounds like being in a spaceship” and “Sounds like being in a science fiction movie”. Asked about this, Dominik responds with: “You could say the album is the soundtrack to a movie which is shot from a spaceship :)”.
So if you like, you can rhyme together your own sci-fi story in the combination of the talking titles and the music. Of course, the inclined listeners can also just dive into these sound worlds, let themselves be carried away and feel inside, what associations the heard arouses in you. There is a lot to discover here and it is worthwhile to let the album work on you in a moment of rest.
