about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

iT / Irena Tomažin – Another Crying Game

iT / Irena Tomažin

“Another Crying Game”

(NB: very special hand-made BOX is in the works!)

Some songs on Another Crying Game began to take shape at the very start of the iT project, but as short fragments they did not find their form or place on the first album. After a long period of oscillation between emergence, forgetting, gestation and rewriting, and alongside later songs, at least some have now found their place and form.

Some songs were originally created for specific dance-theatre performances and were later given new lyrics and additional melodies. For instance, The Night of the Soul emerged in 2007 during a creative process at the Grotowski Institute’s Atelier programme in Poland. The simple melody of Vsemu kar je blizu (a short poem by Hafiz) was composed for the performance Rodeo by Maja Delak and Mauricio Ferlin in 2007, while the melody and part of the lyrics for Just the Way It Is were developed during the process and as part of the performance Out of Discord with Joséphine Evrard in 2010. The first audio fragments and drafts of Happiness were written around 2006, as were the drafts for the song Počasi. The rest appeared sporadically, in pieces and fragments, over the following years. Song Realnost iluzij, is based on Anja Novak’s poem of the same name and is part of her interdisciplinary poetry collection Rane rane (Wounds Wounds).

Another Crying Game is an echo of the the first iT album, Crying Games, released in 2011 by rx:tx, Projekt Atol.

Oka – Larv

Oka

“Larv”

(NB: this album will be name-your-price after it is released)

Larv is an intimate diary for the future, moved by water and constant change. Human, as a water body — fluid, permeable, and susceptible to internal tides — is an integral motif behind the compositions that gently unfold through drifting voices, crunchy field recordings, modulated electro-acoustic samples, and synthetic glitch-style tones. Imperfections, artifacts, and instability are not hidden but embraced, sounding the traces of a connected body in flux. Through exploration and learning, the water body can become a body of quiet resistance, communicating through shifting states.

Kamizdat – Access Frame: Autonomy

Kamizdat

“Access Frame: Autonomy”

The series of compilations titled Access Frame aim to present a wide spectrum of local alternative music (with emphasis on electronic and experimental music) that has found its safe haven on the internet. The never before encountered entwinement of technology, society, making music and ownership rights has been causing a serious conflict between free culture and the outdated and exploitative concepts of copyright. Adhering to the spirit of free access, online labels are the first in the struggle for equal access and a more fair copyright (facilitated by the introduction of the Creative Commons license).

In this spirit we are supporting the annual celebration of netlabel culture on the Netlabel Day every July 14th. netlabelday.org

Kovač FM is a producer, visual artist, and radio creator. Her production is mostly (but not always) the result of transforming and synthesizing poetry or various samples into new mutants and spells. This track is a morbid transformation of a verse from some lament or dirge into the next mutation. instagram.com/kovacfm

Notwithstanding the genre variety in her selection and production,
msn gf (Ustanova, Nimaš Izbire) stays committed to the bitersweet drama of forgotten pop ballads, spiced up by contemporary production. Ribeiroia, emerging from the new generation of the Ljubljana electronic underground, presents a wheighty track from the upcoming album, or rather, from an introspective musical intervention, which is coming out towards the end of the year. It rawly and thoughtfully scratches at the collective consciousness, into which she has been thrown against her will. soundcloud.com/niribeiroia

Luka Prinčič – DRAGX̶FUNK

[KAM073]

Luka Prinčič

“DRAGX̶FUNK”

Luka Prinčič recently also known as Prince Lucija (Crucial Pink, ex-Nova deViator and Deviant Funk) created a pile of music for a certain genre-transgressive stage show. On these originals and reworks of various degrees Prinčič is joined by bouquet of members from the collective The Feminalz. The shuffling team of collaborators presents itself in the usually peculiar and ambivalent light on the new productions, stealing melodic and textual images in a mix of instrumental club tracks and lyrically generous songs that function both as performative moments and repeatable musical hooks.

DRAGX̶FUNK is a transgenre mutation, a fluid entity, jagged pop, electro-funk, techno-cabaret, a schlager, and soft alternative, queer to the core, satire and tragedy, sharp and fun indulgence for the dance of bodies and brains, activism and hedonism, which would all like to steal your attention.

DRAGX̶FUNK is pronounced /dɹæɡɑːfʌŋk/.

Warrego Valles – TURBO

Warrego Valles

“TURBO”

After deconstruction comes the time for reconstruction. Holding a mirror to the dystopian world, Warrego Valles seek hope through humorous materialism. Returning from abstraction on last album to words and meanings, they juxtapose contemporary techno-pop electronic styles with activist utterances and ironic cynicism, queering both genres and languages in the process. On TURBO, Warrego Valles boldly present an authentic and highly potent fusion of pop and progressive sensibilities, ranging from avant-hyperpop with echoes of happy hardcore to trap, electroclash, and Balkan turbo-folk vibes. This masterfully produced sonic package sits firmly between underground club culture and radio-friendly wake-up calls.

Lifecutter – Hollow

Lifecutter – Hollow
[KAM069]

Lifecutter

“Hollow”

Lifecutter’s music is a true love affair with saturated frequencies, glitchy anomalies and distorted patinas, exploring the extremes of aggressive electronic music. However, it doesn’t have much in common with mindless fist-bumping, trendy TikTok hard techno dancing and bland distorted techno for big room raves. Although his music is rough and somewhat violent, it still radiates an aura of inexplicable mysticism. He borrows from the post-Einstürzende Neubauten industrial era and the groundbreaking techno sounds of the 90s and wraps them in a high-tech, digitally-enhanced format to underscore the dystopian, post-AI reality we live in.

”Hollow”, his fifth album for the Ljubljana-based label Kamizdat, is a logical continuation of the aesthetic he presented on his last full length album ”Sub Persona”. The new album contains nine powerful cuts that maintain his fascination with the dark and sludgy elements of British industrial techno strains and their connections to EBM, rhythmic noise, no wave and other “dark hued” genres. Melodies are sprinkled throughout the album, but they always verge on “melodic noise” rather than fully-blown melodicism in the… mehr

Wanda & Nova deViator – ARP 339

Wanda & Nova deViator – ARP 339

Wanda & Nova deViator

ARP 339

With Escherian devotion to infinity, the electro-punk music charge of Wanda and Nova deViator subtly flows from cool cosmic cyberfuturism to heated dance-floor fever. Drawing on a variety of genre offshoots, Maja Delak and Luka Prinčič use repetition to seamlessly develop the heritage of polyrhythm and deep bass tremors from domestic intimacy into an all-encompassing atmosphere. Their sonic habitat reflects existing social structures with technological precision, throwing a harsh light on flaws without fetishizing criticism. The world they weave from fragments of universality via sizzling electronic impulses and hypnotic vocal expression would likely be described as science fiction three decades ago – but today it is uncomfortable to think how accurately it reflects our own reality.

Building on the foundation established by their praised debut Pacification (Kamizdat, 2013), the diverse artists complement and upgrade the sounds of their upcoming new record with a live performance that reconceptualises their musical hybrid within the framework of intermedia and dance arts. Sensuality meets anger, passion cavorts intellectually with rebellion, yet at the same time, without endangering their own principles, the duo successfully follows the unwritten rule – this kind of music simply has to catch one’s ear willingly, sink in and touch the listener.
