about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Deltahedron – Machine Learning

[EEM018]

Deltahedron

“Machine Learning”

We all hear that machines and AI are going to surpass us soon, but for the time being they have a lot to learn from the meatbags still in control.

This bass heavy, experimental EP of techno-ish trap-like beats presents the process of machine learning in one particular specimen.

Winterberg – le sacre du noir

Winterberg – le sacre du noir
[phokes123]

Winterberg

“le sacre du noir”

In perfect attention the crystallized minescrafter digs through the depths of the heights. In hand luggage the best machines, he travels across noone’s heaven. Three rooms.

With Winterberg’s second album, we go a bit deeper into his work. After his self chosen “lock in with grand” some songs reached new levels. Grasping the moment, comfort of maturity. Between saturated thickness and clear raising there are also occasionally surprises.

Over three hours of music has been found for this album, well portioned in three parts. Five years have passed since the previous album. Now he’s back for more. We wish you a great listening pleasure with these selected works of improvisation, of live play. Spirit, soul and earth invite you to dive into.

Bralitz – Bralitz

[BSMX0155]

Bralitz

“Bralitz”

“Bralitz is a one-man-band who plays guitar, drums and percussion, piano, bass, harmonica, ukulele and sings songs he writes himself. He randomly chose the name Bralitz (a small town in North Eastern Germany) for no real reason other than its simplicity and the fact he often goes there to participate in a music festival organized by his friends. Bralitz draws inspiration from classics of various genres, i.e. rock ’n roll, folk, bossa nova, chanson, and manouche, to name a few. Using multi-track recording, he performs all the parts on most of his songs and sings most of the harmonies to his own lead vocals.”

So that’s the official bio. I’ll only add that this little collection of songs packs a melodic punch with thematic ties running throughout. You’ll likely find yourself putting the album on repeat for a while.

A very special thanks to Bralitz for the terrific EP! Welcome to the blocSonic fam!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

ps – Volatile

[enrmp400]

ps

“Volatile”

This album is about volatile things and moments. Friendships, relationships, life, random situations. It’s about the importance of finding yourself, knowing yourself, not losing track of what’s important. Getting used to navigate through the acid burns that life flings at you, but also learning to understand others, learning to understand yourself. This album is meant to be listened at home alone at 3 AM. Considering other people don’t appreciate loud sounds at 3 AM you might want to use headphones.

Tracks 1 and 2 feature instrument samples by Amir Baghiri and samples from the movie Still Alice.

Track 3 features samples from the series Making a Murderer and the movies Reservoir Dogs, Drunken Master and Zero Theorem.

Tracks 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 feature spoken word passages read from the book The Vegetarian.

Track 9 features samples from the movie Zero Theorem, Curtis Hoard Videogames, The Straight Road and from a random 80s educational video on Missile Guidance Systems.

Tracks 10 and 11 features samples from the series Fargo.

Track 11 features sample from the movie Deadpool.

All other sounds in this album were conjured by Filipe ‘ps’ Cruz using Jeskola Buzz. Mixed down using Reaper.

Baradit – Electro Lines

[pn118]

Baradit

“Electro Lines”

“Of a tranquil but sure evolution, and generous in melodies that awaken the ear insistently, and to the precise extent, is this new album by the Valparaiso based electronic musician Baradit, a key figure in the scene constructed with machines and danceable beats in studios and clubs in the Fifth Region, being one of the founders of the excellent netlabel Epa Sonidos in 2001.

In this work, the author passes comfortably through many of the influences that have permeated his creation over time, always with interesting results, from musical movements that have remained in perpetuity due to their importance and teachings, such as the EBM, or the ever present and transformable synth pop, techno and other aspects that coexist within the most welcoming and evocative universe of electronics.

Scenes well built and cemented in electro beats, analog basses of good company, notes suggestive of contemplative feelings, are the basis of several of his compositions, like ‘Pruss Pruss’, ‘Guitar Day’, ‘Ocean’, ‘I Need’, to name a few. A good invitation to explore the electro pop happening outside the limits of our self-absorbed and centralized reality. Certainly, a pleasant experience.”

Satanoid – Astronomical Disease

[NTT085]

Satanoid

“Astronomical Disease”

Satanoid – an audio project by Finland’s Sami Kekkonen – investigates the borders of what could be considered extreme sonic decimation.
Listening to his album “Astronomical Disease”, you will find out that, despite the seemingly persistent illusion that today’s abundance of electronic music continually collides into a mode of endless reiteration, there is still room for refreshing experiments.
This magnificent slaughterhouse of relentless modular deconstruction easily obliterates any previously established notion of high BPM’s and intelligent (de-)composition, while viscerally exploiting those quasi-aleatoric holes few humans are likely to have ever conceived of.
A masterful work that deserves your undivided attention, if like me, you crave for things that are entirely authentic.

Jim Black – The Heat

[382]

Jim Black

” The Heat “

A warm welcome back to Jim Black, who seems to appear with a large selection of tracks a couple of times a year. If you’re not familiar with Jim, he manages to create the vibe of the classic early 90s techno/IDM roots perfectly, bringing back feelings of nostalgia to those who listened to Kiss FM (London) and DJs like Colin Favor.

This 10 track album takes us through a journey of powerful beats, addictive melodies and definitely warms us after the long cold winter. If you want some serious acid leads and basslines, you’ll find them here!

Dallas Simpson – A Short Journey of Silica

[PT052]

Dallas Simpson

“A Short Journey of Silica”

This work explores a shift of perspective from my current work. By including of elements of personal vocal narrative, which were first explored in ‘abha’ (1995/6), this work emphasises the presence of the artist as an archetypical environmental occupant and participant, a principle that lies at the heart of my work. In the first movement improvised location performance, often a major feature of my work, is reduced to a mere, but significant fragment. In the 2nd and 3rd movements, there are further environmental observations from a personal perspective tracking a particular trajectory of silica usage through human activity.

1st Movement – Crucible.

Silica immersed in the crucible of natural forces. The sea as a dynamic, wave-active element, with the destructive forces of rolling, the breaking and grinding of flint and chert stone, wave motion stresses produce sand over millennia – the raw material containing silica from which glass is manufactured. The human presence has metaphoric as well as literal significance in the responsible and sustainable use and management of this and all our natural resources.

2nd Movement – The Milk Round.

Part 1 – The Dairy Crest Depot.. Preparation for delivery, organization, distribution. The constructive and organizational forces of industrial, metal, mechanical motor motion operate together with human activity where silica is integrated as recyclable packaging for a consumable product.

Part 2 – The Milk Round Delivery. Silica embedded as container vessel within human, animal and mineral, intrinsic and extrinsic elements. Human activity takes place within a context of a wider urban ecosystem, with allusions to the co-existence of animal and human social behaviour in conversation.

3rd Movement – The Glass Collection. (Contains very occasional strong language.)

Following usage and consumption, silica disposal now becomes a recycling process as part of local government policy in an urban social context.

Notes.

1st Movement – Recorded on location at Milford on Sea (17/11/16), 2nd Movement – Recorded at Dairy Crest, Nottingham (21/09/09), 3rd Movement – Recorded at Carlton, Nottingham (05/01/17).
The artist would like to thank Dairy Crest and operative Pete for permission to record on their premises and in the electric milk float. All recordings were made in a single take live on location and have been edited for this work using Cockos Reaper software.

Recorded in binaural stereo using custom in-ear binaural techniques. Microphones DPA4060, recorders Tascam DAP1 (2nd Movement), Sound Devices 744T (1st and 3rd Movements). Optimised for headphone listening.

Eugen Bäcker – Fimfewurdan

[PZO008]

Eugen Bäcker

“Fimfewurdan”

The album is based on five melodic idioms. As any other repeated action their frequency occurs neither with monotony nor with irreflection but with a kind of advertence. This frequency gradually organizes all structures of consciousness, giving birth to genuine contemplation. ‘however, I desire to speak five words with my mind so that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue’ (1 Cor. 14:19).

Elsa Bergman + Óscar Santis – Errante

[pn117]

Elsa Bergman + Óscar Santis

“Errante”

“Elsa Bergman (double bass) and Óscar Santis (Likembe, mixer, soundboxes, effects, computer), deliver us a generous recording of their first encounter as a duo of improvisers. The album, called Errante, was conceived in its fullness in the magical landscapes of Amereida.

The result is translated in a mixture of exquisite and varietal languages, distinguished by the hypnotic seduction corresponding to the interpretation of Elsa Bergman, who in accordance with her worldview manages to articulate a more onomatopoeic and percussive line as compared to Óscar Santis, the owner of a structured and ferrous sonic vocabulary.

These conversations, generated in an autopoietic state, deliver us soundscapes cemented with Nordic emulsions and the saline corrosion accumulated for decades in the territory of Ciudad Abierta (Open City).

The atmosphere that Errante offers us is divided in seven electrifying cuts, with “Autopista” being the most extensive track (12:05), which ends in magnificent fashion this exchange of musical expectations y concerns that pass through the fields of minimalist electronica and the indelible legacy of free-jazz.”

Thuoom – Fokus

[thump318]

Thuoom

“Fokus”

The fifth Thuoom full-length, Fokus, is filled with rhythmic songs soaked in IDM influences, and at places the record is the most playful Thuoom has ever been. With these songs Tuomo used a more layered approach than before and more than half of the songs employ sine waves. Furthermore, there are three songs where the beat has been formed by manipulated beatboxing.

Instruments used on this record: acoustic guitar, beatbox, cutlery, garlic, garlic press, glitches, human voice, knives, plates, scissors, sine waves, sparkling water, water bottle.
