about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Ars Sonor – Future Journeys

Ars Sonor

“Future Journeys”

“A new door opens through the broken heart, and, sadly, it’s always like that. It’s unbelievable… how much pain is around still, how much stuff I have to release… henceforth. The more you dig, the more comes up. But, I’m afraid, there’s no other way, other than this kind of therapy. Releasing old music. It’s still a lot to do, but at least with less stuff I’ll be able to crawl through this hole to another side. It looks as bleak as on this side, but it’s better than stay here. And then… future journeys will be possible” (Ars Sonor)

Jungle Julia – Jungle Julia (EP)

Jungle Julia – Jungle Julia (EP)
[BM14R15]

Jungle Julia

“Jungle Julia (EP)”

Location: Saronno / Italy
Formation: band
Genres: death/trash metal, hardcore, alternative

Band members are:

Jungle Chris: – vocals
Jungle Cris: – guitars
Jungle Ste: – guitars
Jungle Loris: – bass
Jungle Dany6: – drums

The band was formed during summer 2013, after the reunion among Jungle Chris (vocals), Jungle Cris (guitars), and Jungle Loris (bass), that already played together in a hard rock band called Alcohol Abuse (what a original name!). Jungle Dany6 (drums) and Jungle Ste (guitars joined soon. We began to rehearse trying to create a modern sound melting our different musical tastes. The early songs were what we called Metalpunk songs and we continued through this path trying to add something new in every song we played. The result is that every song is different from the others and skipping through our song you can hear Trbngr somewhere, Suicidal tendencies somewhere else, Entombed in some riffs and so on passing from Thrash, Death, Stoner, Hardcore and (later) prog rock. As already said the sound is constantly evolving and the songwriting is becoming more and more complex.

Songs are sung in Italian, they talk about Math, Technology, Nuclear desasters coupled with B-movies. Actually all these themes masks the real subject of the songs, which are mainly our personal life facts filtered through the lens of the iper-technologic modern man.

In December 2014 band recorded first self produced EP simply called Jungle Julia. The EP is available on sale but it is also available in free streaming on YouTube channel. (Now here also!)

Played many gigs in Italy and hope to tour Europe very soon!

Dr.800XL – Epifanía

[pn101]

Dr.800XL

“Epifanía”

“Epifanía (Epiphany) (From the Latin epiphanīa: f. manifestation, appearance, or revelation). – This corresponds to the final album of the trilogy initiated in 2006 with ‘Anomia‘ (pn007), continued then with ‘Vesania‘ (pn047) in 2009; and, as such, it continues the course and the dynamic of these 3 states (the diffuse confusion in the beginning, the unbridled madness of the mature conflict, and then, the illumination and calm of the resolution), trying to give an account of various biographical and creative states of the author. ‘Epifanía‘ establishes itself, at the same time, as a point of inflection with profound changes to the stylistic and discursive in this delightfully haphazard route that is life and its creatures-creations.”

Felipe Zúñiga Herranz aka Dr.800XL
(Santiago, Chile, diciembre 2015)

“‘Epifanía‘ (Epiphany), completes the trilogy of Dr.800XL for Pueblo Nuevo… an exercise in electronica of high flight, fresh and full of spatiality. Reunification of samples in a Down-tempo beat, with techno tinges and with a palette of spatial/temporal synthesis of ambient tone. In this multiverse of intricate breaks, playful glitches, with contemplative tone and with a marked experimental accent, Felipe Zúñiga Herranz drives the pulleys to give us a work that makes its impression on the listening, through the richness and variety of the compositions. A disc that crowns in an exiting way this musical/discursive continuity… in good time Doc.”

(Punta Arenas, Chile, diciembre 2015)

“The Sound as a tool of echolocation for tracing emotional and mental maps. The Beats like serial lightning strikes forming thoughts. The Sequences forming successive images that vanish at the boundary between the Conscious and the Unconscious. Glitches like nervous tics that we strive to conceal. Arpeggios of Acoustic Guitar that evoke moments that will not return. Synths that move around like cirrus in the sky that our eyes can span. Reverbs that bounce off the walls of our internal cavern. This is how I can describe this “Epiphany” that Felipe Zuñiga gives us today. Fast, enlightening, but not ephemeral. If we listen carefully to them, his pieces take the form of portals, on whose threshold oscillate vibrations that evoke a wide palette of colors, playful and far from the claim of superiority of the Musician above the Listener. Thank you very much for this album, Felipe: I believe that you were happy creating it, and in these times, to share that is a significant and necessary gesture.”

LZRVS – For tonight you’re only here to know

[SOSEP059]

LZRVS

“For tonight you’re only here to know”

Artist: LZRVS
Artwork: Luca Mascioli
Mastering: Fulvio Vitale aka Flux
Title: For tonight you’re only here to know
Genre: Future Beats
Released on: 04/12/2015

Description (Curated by Marco Stilo)

[EN]
In full consciousness and introspective phase. Perhaps this is the key to open Lzrs sound door. Certainly, it’s the essential theme between the producer and Sostanze Records for the making of ‘For Tonight You’re Only Here to Know’, the winning debut record by the Italian artist. Such a release pushing for getting what we have around us. A sound apparently melancholic which does not hide emotive charges towards a romantic evolution. Lzrs softly gets up on the stage but at the same time his elegance shows immediately a significant attetion for its message, codified by distorsions and atmospheres playing up the trip created by its music. In love with Lzrs.

[IT]
In piena fase introspettiva e di sviluppo della conoscenza . Forse è questa la chiave per aprire la porta dei suoni di Lzrs. Sicuramente è il filo conduttore tra il produttore e Sostanze Records nella realizzazione di ”For Tonight You’re Only Here to Know” , debutto vincente dell’artista italiano. In love with Lzrs.

“Waves”

Here at Kahvi we’re exceptionally proud of our yearly compilation release – and here, finally, is the VA release for 2015! It’s been a mammoth undertaking, collecting tracks, compiling the release, mastering, creating the cover artwork but finally we can announce that ‘Waves’ is here!

This year, we have a massive 50 of the best tracks from some familiar faces, along with many guest artists that submitted their tracks for inclusion. Some really amazing talent is out there with very little exposure, and the VA is our chance to redress the balance. For a playlist visit our Mixcloud page. The VA is made up of a huge range of diverse tracks from ambient to IDM, chill to drum and bass – and even a couple of more experimental tracks to give your ears a treat!

Splicey and Tracky – Horses, Horses … Horses!

[4295]

Splicey and Tracky

“Horses, Horses … Horses!”

Horses, Horses … Horses! is the late October 2015 debut release from the collaboration, Splicey and Tracky (Dave Keifer & Jess Lemont). In this case, the tracks featured are from Keifer’s end of the ongoing project.
Recently, Vuzhh Music Blog (C. Reider) produced its annual list of Notable Netlabel Releases, which includes the debut. Reider’s description: “Skittering and simultaneously loping, riffing and simultaneously free-jazzing group work featuring the brilliant Jess Lemont. This coheres really well, and is very groovy, even when they’re at their most free-improv-y.”

And, they’re just getting started. Be sure to stay on the lookout for more Splicey and Tracky releases, and, if possible, listen with your eyes closed!

Credits:
Dave Keifer (Cagey House): virtual instruments, software, etc. Shifty editing, occasional brief embellishments.
Jess Lemont (Be a Waterwolf): all real instruments including drums, voice, guitar, bass, mallet percussion, keyboards, xaphoon, etc. Large-scale intricate lace improvisations.

(Tracks created jointly between April and August of 2015)

Syntactic

“Chinese Lights”

“Guest release of a long-time friend and collaborator! Time for a full stop here… everything this project wanted to express was expressed already. According to Syntactic, there’s much more to life than music. In a way this is true, but just only “in a way”… and wishing that everything turns out well for her in the end” (Ars Sonor)

Bebhionn Laboratory – Visual Textures

[ZIMMER126]

Bebhionn Laboratory

“Visual Textures”

Visual texture is the illusion of having physical texture. Every material and every support surface has its own visual texture and needs to be taken into consideration before creating a composition. As such, materials such as canvas and watercolour paper are considerably rougher than, for example, photo-quality computer paper and may not be best suited to creating a flat, smooth texture. Photography, drawings and paintings use visual texture both to portray their subject matter realistically and with interpretation. Texture in these media are generally created by the repetition of shape and line.

Secrets Of The 45 – Wake Bell

[UPL 065]

Secrets Of The 45

“Wake Bell”

“It was about time to pay tribute to my only addiction – caffeine, which has become a necessity to properly start my day. And what better way to honour it than by making an album entirely out of the sounds of my trusted coffee machine?

Like an old friend, this familiar buzz has been present in my life for years, setting rhythm to my workday. I decided to make its warm, enveloping orchestra of hums, hisses, gurgles into a pleasant ambient album – with help of effect pedals and analog processing.”

-Secrets Of The 45

And there you have it, a set of droning, ever-morphing etudes based on a hum of a coffeemaker. Each piece paints the noise in a slightly different shade, mirroring different stages of the wake cycle (or the “wake bell” as the album cover depicts) – from the hushed whalesong of “drowning in drowsy” to the urgent, stuttering “c16f” with hisses and sirens going off to give the listener a good waking kick.

Mint – The Minotaur’s Head

[364]

Mint

“The Minotaur’s Head”

The second release for Christmas 2015 is a new album by Kahvi regular artist ‘Mint’.

The curiously named ‘The Minotaur’s Head’ is six tracks of Mint’s blend of oldschool inspired beats and sounds, with today’s IDM techniques. Progressive and subtle in places, with earth shaking beats and basses.

The Minotaur’s Head includes influences of some previous Kahvi artists – like Aaron Jasinski (Tribal Shake) along with oldskool 8bit soundtracks (Distant Signals) and even a nod towards some very early Kahvi releases by Xhale and Epoq (Spirit Touch).

Track of choice , most definitely for this oldschool fan: The unpronouncable ‘Pharmacopoeia’ which is epic progressive oldschool at it’s best!

Nada – Mirror Image

[LOR 074]

Nada

“Mirror Image”

Linear Obsessional is delighted to present this beautifully recorded collection of free improvisations by Nada. Nada is the duo of Roger Mills – Trumpet and Hervé Perez – alto sax. The improvisations that make up “Mirror Image” are revelatory, as both musicians explore a huge range of sonic textures through extended technique, and make for a fascinating and engrossing listen as they search out their common ground. Interestingly although both musicians had played together via internet collaborations “Mirror Image” is the result of their first meetings in person. The sound of two musicians communicating so naturally, but also with great control and subtlety, makes this an enormously rewarding album.

Mirror Image is the debut album of the duo Nada,
featuring UK based saxophonist Hervé Perez and
Australian trumpeter Roger Mills.
While Perez and Mills live on opposite sides of
the world, they met through their mutual work
with the telematic improvisatory music ensemble
Ethernet Orchestra.
The pair quickly realised a shared aesthetic and
continued developing their sound online.

Hervé and Roger would like to thank Elke Utermöhlen
and Martin Slawig (blackhole-factory) for bringing us
together, Richard Sanderson for releasing the album,
and Arman S. Haghi for the original artwork.
