about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Jawhinge

“s/t”

Jawhinge is a free-form musical outlet for its creator. It’s both a portfolio of musical experimentation and a storytelling device for expressing frustration and rarely – joy. It soaks up the experience of an ordinary human life and pushes it through a prism of everlasting curiosity for electronic music, be it ambient or violent.

Being what it is, the project does not adhere to a single genre, instead opting for going whatever its creator is into at the time. However, a strong jungle/breakcore/hip-hop/ambient/idm/dub influence can be felt through Jawhinge’s former releases and especially in his debut self-titled release for Mahorka, coreleased with AEON Tapes, released on 08.07.2022 as free (cc) digital download and special digipak CD edition.

In a multidimensional way through sound search and deepening of temporal and atonal of different sounds reproduced acoustically and electro-acoustically. The temporal relations come from different forms of sound treatment, from the outset. During the process have used distended techniques, growth and development of solo processes and group music having as premise the articulation between different sounds being them of that provenance.
temporal level that intercedes on the micro-,and macro-scale levels of the consubstantiation of sounds in their morphological dimension. being its atonal profusions resulting from the addition of timbric layers that, in their relationship arising from a psycho-semantic relationship held by different instrumentalists, covers the scope through which different instrumentalists make music, the search for exploring the limits of exploration of their own instruments.

Marie Wilhelmine Anders – Travels

Marie Wilhelmine Anders – Travels
[brq 136]

Marie Wilhelmine Anders

“Travels”

[NNRM102]

Ciya

“Fantasy”

In an attempt to get answers to unknown questions of things that are difficult to put into words, sacrifices were made to abstract gods along the way.
Among the narratively drawn accidents, which are tactile sounds that combine into forms, a detailed answer to the question “how are you?” is read between the lines.
Even if they ask such a question to the listener.

Fallen – Soft Skin, Eternal Verses

Fallen

“Soft Skin, Eternal Verses”

Fallen’s debut album on Mahorka stayed unreleased for quite some time before finding its right home. It’s working title was “No Love Is Sorrow” that was changed for the definitive release.

“But the second she opened her eyes and looked at me, I knew; she was either going to be the death of me or she was going to be the one who finally brought me back to life.” –Colleen Hoover

Collected earlier reviews of the album:

Felthat (UK), review by Hubert Heathertoes: “Bracaloni goes a bit deeper with his music – the melancholy of it it’s not just the core of it but in terms of composition it helps to understand that where it stems from – his education in the matter of film music, waging and balancing – the mildly experimental textures with genuine melodies and phasing the moods of different quality – that takes you way way more than just a melancholic experience.” ||| Ondarock, review by Valerio D’Onofrio, score: 7: “Bracaloni here plays and performs synths, piano, organ, oboe, santoor, koto, electric guitar and bass as well as an infinite number of sound manipulations that lead to ethereal cosmic flows whom refer to the older generation of electronic musicians: from Brian Eno to krautrock, from Mike Oldfield’s suites to Vangelis’ cinematics, up to the Alan Parsons Project’s memories masterfully summarizing his poetry.” ||| Rumore Magazine, review by Alessandro Besselva Averame, score: 7:”Synthesizers, pianos, soft rhythmic pulsations and the arcane echoes of an oboe, feed a great solemnity here.” ||| Blow Up Magazine, review by Gino Dal Soler, score: 7:”As the ideal sequel of the previous album Secrets of the Moon released by Psychonavigation in 2015, Lorenzo’s new album is electronic sound in its ambient, cinematic and evocative declinations. Fallen’s new album is appreciated for honesty and personality of the author.” ||| Audiofollia, review by Francesco Lenzi: “Fallen’s new album is very beautiful and rich, it continues to work on ambient textures already included in the previous album, but here they have evolved pointing the way for a new musical path.” ||| Music Won’t Save you, review by Raffaello Russo (Rockerilla):”The identity of almost all the instruments here tend to stray, transfiguring into a dream and into a rhythmic flow of sound, infused with stretches of oriental scents and imbued with emotional spontaneity, culminating in piano harmonies and synthetic hugs” ||| In Your Eyes, review by Stefano Cavanna, score 8.7:”Bracaloni’s new album shines by own beauty with its ancient roots, and for that, it doesn’t deserve to be tarnished by any comparison or juxtaposition. The musical sensibility of Lorenzo Bracaloni reveals itself above average once again, making the composer one of the most credible ambient music authors and not only in the italian scene.” ||| CrampiWordpress, review by Marcello Berlich (ex-Losing Today): “Ambient rarefactions and minimalist repetitions mixed together into a sound that is rooted in the impressionist lesson”

Creation Rockers – Lets Make Waves

Creation Rockers – Lets Make Waves
[DPH052]

Creation Rockers

“Lets Make Waves”

We continue digging into the lost archives of Springline Records, one of the most underrated reggae and dub labels of the UK, which has been operational from 2003 until 2012. With artists coming mainly coming from the UK underground, the style of the label was strongly influenced by the Jamaican roots music of the 70s with a sound very kin to that of Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s Black Ark studio. After 10 years of operation, two vinyl releases and many tapes and digital releases the label stopped its operations in 2013, with the owner of the label Gibsy Rhodes deciding to put an end to that musical adventure. What is left nowadays are some articles/reviews on the internet and some music scattered online, reminding the era of a great label, which unfortunately did not get the recognition it deserved, as well as a usb stick handed over to us by Gisby Rhodes, with some musical treasures from that time: demos, unreleased and rare tracks.

Recorded in the legendary CAF Studios, Let’s Make Waves and Soul Fighter by the band Creation Rockers were originally released in 2012 as an extended play. The band members were Brad Τurner aka The Manor (also member of Foshan Roots) on the guitar & vocals, Alan Blizzard aka Yabass also on guitar & vocals, Drummie Dan on the drums & vocals and Papa D on the keyboards. Ten years later, we shine some light on this obscure release, keeping the original artwork but including for the first time three rare tracks, which were not included in the original release.

Creation Rockers are:

Yabass (Guitar, Vocal)
Drummie Dan (Drums, Vocal)

[pn208]

malaqh

“Aun tenemos donde descansar”

“Aún tenemos donde descansar” is the first EP produced by Santiago-based dúo “malaqh” (Francisco Sánchez, drums; Felipe Zenteno, electronics and programming). The EP is composed of three tracks. Each of them has an individual identity in terms of timbres and textures, but all of them have movement as the underlying premise. A risky proposition, this EP inhabits the rudimentary and futuristic giving way to a fresh and rhythmatic listening experience.

At its core, this release is about improvised music. Elements of ambient, jazz, and noise come together to create a soundscape where digital language is conjugated by the body language of the drummer, resulting in a hybrid plasticity that is felt as pure possibility.

The cover was made by Chilean visual artist Camila Vilches, who represented malaqh‘s proposed soundscape of apparent opposites.

rADio eNd – OddSchool

rADio eNd – OddSchool
[LCNLP149]

rADio eNd

“OddSchool”

The Necrophile Hummingbird Netlabel presents Oddschool by rADio eNd.

“Odd Music for Derealizationed People”.

About beneath and above the surface of this album :
Oddschool is the third album of rADio eNd with for members the same trio*. While Hum Antenna was more about psychedelic explosion, Underground Culture was… well, about the Underground Culture, OddSchool is focus perhaps more on the reality study. And maybe the way we can communicate through music. We could have stayed more in the comfort zone with a mostly instrumental music, but since the very beginning, rADio eNd is thought like a kind of sonar. That’s why OddSchool needed to be haunted by lyrics as well as by any kind of crypto mantras, to show how, each can unlock these mantras to get a personalized message, as I did.
Also, despite I far enjoy not straight political stuff, mostly because the way this music is created is far more political than any talk, and that Dead or Alive ! could have been more universal and timeless, only with the mantra about the reversing of the symbols. I will not do a list of how the world is in huge trouble these days, but the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade law in the United States is too much dramatic for so many women, to keep my mouth shut down.
It can be interesting also to notice, that despite I do not voluntary transposed them in this song, many ideas were already in the word I added to underground culture presentation, to understand the whole creation process.
About Ok with everything… the meaning is first at the edge of two interpretations, in the industrial music style. It needs to decipher it by yourself as you can do with a koan, then only, the mantra deliver its message. This could talk, as well about acceptation, as a way to upgrade oneself, as I experienced it in my own life, acceptation (not resignation), to be able to really integrate something. As well, about fake acceptation, the same way that the kind of stuff like being friend with everyone indeed lead to be friend with no one, avoiding conflict can, that way, make you stand up for wicked things, at the opposite to any values which could motivate to do this.
Next I added the lyrics about Karpman triangle, perhaps because to remove these roles is a fine way to solve this mantra. More generally, like if you learn to remove your own storytelling,
you’ll be able to remove the propaganda storytelling.
Last but not least, there is an educational dimension in the whole album. When I was younger I’ve been studying, a short time, in the “lycée expérimental de Saint-Nazaire”. A school based on active pedagogies. Where students are equal in right with the educative team members. Where everyone does as well administrative tasks, cleaning, cooking, etc. students choice what they want to study and vote for the establishment choices.
There are other ways to learn if we want another world. In france in ordinary colleges, things are very slowly changing, but what is the meaning to form the teachers to the caring without to let them do the criticism of the system ? While the whole society is build on violence, competition, exclusion, and so on. Also, if certain are still thinking like being superior because of their knowledge to the student. And often haven’t got experience outside of scholar system as human being. Or also the way sometime teachers can disgust students by showing art through the academic critic’s point of view, for example avoiding anything really subversive as well in the shape than in the essence.
Or still severing everything instead to show how linked all domains, learn to transpose, can help you to build yourself and live by yourself.
So many things to say about this kind of things, that I prefer to do not develop this more. An anecdote about the artwork, to complete the way things are linked, I made it with a glass photography of a school in ruin.
D-I-Y studies shall be a lifetime task, to experiment with art for example is a fine tool to learn, creations are meaningful fruits to help you to grow up.
