Musikalisk produkt av obestämd kvalitet.
Hittades i ett dike blodig och medvetslös,
skrev två låtar under konvalescensen medans jag återhämtade mig från hjärnblödning och diverse frakturer.
För att knyta ihop säcken avslutar jag detta “album” med en låt inspirerad av Martin Heidegger dödsbegrepp “sein zum ende” ur det existentialfilosofiska portalverket SEIN UND ZEIT.VIdare markerar dessa låter en definitiv övergång från ett vårdspecifikt perspektiv till ett mer allmänt existentiellt dito, samt en trevande ambition att göra “riktig musik” istället för “synthpop”.

Låtarna är skrivna av vgrid lobra2 i den egna sängen under juli månad 2024 med en mandolin som hjälpmedel, och inspelade digitalt på ett GNU/linux-system genom ardour huvudsakligen med calf plugins och uråldriga maskintrumljud och soundfonts.
Vara_till_slutet är som undantag skriven under våren samma år greppande samma banjo som även användes under inspelningen.
Ett särskilt tack till mitt hus, dvs de andra som bor där, för all hjälp när jag kom hem från sjukhuset; mina goda vänner som besökt mig; Martin Heidegger och Aaron Antonovsky för inspiration; de gamla och de nya gudarna och den allomfattande fullständiga Gud; mina kollegor och min chef på min fantastiska arbetsplats Avdelning 16/29 på SU/S!
Det särskilt smakfulla omslaget i gammalmodig stil är prytt med open source fonts och en detalj från Mårten Eskil Winges “Loki & Sigyn” från 1853. oxå den offentlig.

“Higher Standards”
My solo track “Higher Standards” reflected the desire to rise above challenges. It was truly wonderful to see how sharing the stems of this track with the Canadian artist Neal D. Retke a.k.a. {AN} EeL evolved into an entire album filled with beautiful ambient soundscapes inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ deep listening philosophy.
Interestingly, it also echoed Dawn Landes’ approach of turning Rachel Carson’s birdsong notation into music. Carson, a marine biologist and the author of “Silent Spring”, sparked massive changes in the US environmental laws after the book’s publication in 1962, which ultimately led to the ban of DDT. She had documented bird calls and transcribed a melody of birdsong on a piece of railway stationery from the now-defunct Portland Rose train line. Landes took that melody from Carson’s notes and turned it into music. The album cover of “Higher Standards”, photographed by Neal, complements the music on our collaborative album beautifully and draws yet another obvious parallel to Landes’ creative approach. You might wonder if birds have higher standards than humans. It seems possible – after all, they certainly know how to reach great heights.

Wilfried Hanrath from Germany, Jon Shuemaker from Virginia and LR Friberg from Sweden made this project come to life. Ahrien, the mysterious rapper from Greenland, has also played a part in this extensive collaboration.

Worked on this on and off for about 2 years, because I occasionally felt nostalgic for bass wobbles, wonky beats and lofi atmos.
This schizophrenic EP sits uncomfortably somewhere in between early 2000s UK dubstep and the kind of computer music I normally do.
The last tune is a “proper rinsin” dubstep banger, whereas the rest of the pieces of this EP refract the idiomatic timbres and rhythms of dubstep through an abstracting prism.
Although download is free, please consider paying something, because Saoirse and I are very poor, and in order to make music, we have to eat something.
