about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Nunun – Seven Mirrors

Nunun – Seven Mirrors
[AT024]

Nunun

“Seven Mirrors”

“Seven mirrors” is the first ambient album by Nunun. With Massimo Discepoli playing synths and keyboards instead of drums, and Cesare Discepoli more electronically treated than usual guitar, in these seven improvisations the duo explores many different sonic textures and moods. Haunting melodies and weird dissonances, celestial soundscapes and earthy distortions, countless melodic fragments and free improvisations, this is music for both the intellect and the soul.
The album cover is an original work of italian painter Nascar; the album will be soon available in a special printed edition

“Soundgazing”

Release shaped deeply personal musical exploration; the end result is recorded on this album. Using the new workflow and record sound base is tailored from carefully recorded outside shots elements, combined with a sound analogy, the sound that comes out of the primordial darkness, devoid of earthly laws, sound ribbed electronic shamanism with massive sound spaces filled with pulsating rhythmic waves. Album smooth and warm furnishings are still somewhat more ambiguous, leaving listeners a room to find theirs version of the journey through sinister and mysterious world of recorded sounds.

Massimo Ruberti

“Autour de la Lune”

Massimo Ruberti is back to present again his work «Autour de la Lune» in the occasion of a short film (about twenty minutes, released once again by the netlabel Elpamusic), to tell the story of three astronauts and their journey to the Moon.

The small film consists of three video clips composed of static animation and shadow theater. The exciting sequences of images is perfectly accompanied by the music. The electronic sounds are taken from the record «Autour de la Lune» (Elpa57). The drawings are of the American artist David Brunell Brutman while the theater has been designed and animated by Massimo Ruberti. Everything is inspired by the homonymous book of Jules Verne ‘»Around the Moon», where three astronauts try to reach the moon, shot from a huge cannon aboard a bullet-shaped starship.

Ars Sonor & Co. – 101A 645

Ars Sonor & Co. – 101A 645
[ER056]

Ars Sonor & Co.

“101A 645”

Moving through the rubble, the carnage, the wreckage, the ruin, the dystopia, the effluvia, dwelling in an environment destroyed, among mutants with eyeballs dripping from sockets, the sun shines red and moves sporadic across the sky, so that no spiritual solace could be found a rhythm that cannot be found. There are those coughing on the harsh profaning smoke, yet proclaiming in noisy prayer that it’s all alright. Habits sending our species to an early grave, and we let it happen. There are many who don’t, who renounce these sporadic ways and invent God, they invent God by composing, by coming together and fighting for a just cause, by fasting in the woods, by loving one another unconditional, by ridding compulsion from their lives, from returning to the power of their dreams and the fruitful gifts of this world, and yet through such a damaged filter this can be incredibly difficult. So artists are met with many plights, which in nature’s continuum, extends in their art, their growth, their genetic mapping of emotion. Ars Sonor is a musician whose innermost thoughts trickle down every solid rock she erodes from the earth in the form of foreboding, empowering, tortured, loving pieces of music. Uncompromising and true, my respect for this artist would be difficult to exaggerate. The artist behind Ars Sonor, Laetitia Schteinberg, indeed has undergone many anxious and unpleasant feelings and experiences, which I will not delve into, but through her insistence of inventing this heavenly celestial body, a miracle has brought a triumphant work of pure poetry. Joined by over sixteen different artists, each collaborating with the galactic dream of Sonor’s genius in different tracks, what you have is a masterpiece of collaboration. Blessed with some of the most masterful soundscapers of the true underground, all tracks evoke something entirely different, so I won’t hop too deeply into praise (as much as I’d love to). What cannot go unsaid though, is that despite the versatility, seemingly endless, there is a special concentrated aura to this work as a whole. Put together, this record feels cohesive and articulate. All of the artists concerned, I thank you deeply. Thank you Production Unit Zero. Thank you Hal McGee. Thank you Zreen Toyz. Thank you B.Lone Engines. Thank you William Spivey. Thank you Ethnomite Pux. Thank you Meklabor. Thank you The Implicit Order. Thank you Takadatek. Thank you Amok III. Thank you Mystified. Thank you Roberto Lazzarino. Thank you 3bc. Thank you Peninsolar & Mark Moody. Thank you Consistency Nature. Thank you for your strengthening rhythms, your frozen and smoldering ambient dreams, your wonderful samples from inner alien planets, your wonderful new species of sound grazing tundras of beautiful neoclassical multidimensional trenches. Thank you for coming together and being the stroma of a divine presence. And thank you Ars Sonor, for giving a heart to this work of pure magic, giving a brain to this God amidst the rubble, the carnage, the wreckage, the ruin, the dystopia, the effluvia, of your life and the life of all those who have bodies to suffer with.

Rasul Mono

“Silhouettes”

Created during 2,5 year “Silhouettes” express totally personal feelings, thinkings and interests of author. This album is no more and no less than soundscape for the day-to-day life, work, rest, reflections and feelings. At times it’s light and calm, other times it’s melancholic and affecting, but inherently it’s true and it’s taken from real life.

Thierry Massard – A EN TIO

Thierry Massard – A EN TIO
abstract – ambient – sound
[edp049]

Thierry Massard

“A EN TIO”

Monsieur Massard presents us with a project called “A EN TIO”, borrowing from the name of an enigmatic place he passes by from time to time.
This intriguing grocery, closed for ages, has been decaying and the outdoor sign is losing its letters. Originally, the sign read “ALIMENTATION”; then, after a few years, the “M” became a “W”, turning upside down, the “I” fell, and so on… Today, all that is left is “A EN TIO”.
The sounds in this work portray the decay process, the rough forces of nature and the passage of time (something we’re all familiarized with, although we tend to ignore).

Summons of Shining Ruins

“On The Beach”

Resting Bell starts 2012 with a new release by Summons of Shining Ruins. Most of you know this project by Shinobu Nemoto. He released his work on labels like Install, Experimedia, Dead Pilot Records, Analogpath, Against It Records or on his own imprint Moufu – Rokuon.

With “On The Beach” Shinobu gives us five abyssal tracks, each over 10 minutes long. You can hear deep growling guitar melodies, nearly pushed into the background. And there is a constant hiss and noise layer which gives you the feeling of a windy shoreline. With a look at the artwork you can imagine that the acoustic diorama of “On The Beach” is a real elemental and gloomy feeling.

It is like walking on the seaside on a windy and rainy day in fall. Packed in warm jackets, scarves and bobble hats. Your face gets frosty and cold. But with coming back inside everything gets warm and antsy. And after a short while you are feeling tired and very relaxed.

Secrets Of The 45

“Dvaelkvaela”

On February 2nd 2012,on the day of Candlemas, Secrets Of The 45 publish an album inspired by this holiday – a mixture of folklore and catholic symbolism. The whimsical title is a few words from various languages connected to the symbolism of the holiday, interweaving and combined. All the melodies on the record were created out of one church song. Imagining starless winter nights, empty fields covered in February ice, flickering candles in the windows of cottages, which were supposed to keep lightnings and wolves away from households, SOT 45 presents a set of minimalistic drones, transformed distant echoes of singing and organs, tumbling through the freezing landscape.

Sincope – Close Moving

Sincope – Close Moving
[SOSEP037]

Sincope

“Close Moving”

Sometimes time stops off. Then it starts up again and you wish it run faster, but at the same time you would like to block it. Emotions chase it, as they are synthesized in the debut by Sincope with our netlabel. The atmosphere of the brand new release by the Florence-based duo moves the ambient horizons. Everytime you’ll listen to “Close Moving” you’ll leave for an introspective trip surrounded by darkness and melancholy. This release reminds memories, experiences, that you would not have thought they could re-emerge in your mind, as well as shadow zones unraveling during the listening of the other tracks of the records “Closedowns” and “Fiction”. Deep the piano line that comes up in the videoclip “Close Moving” (which seems to go back to Brian Eno in his golden age) and the synthesis of percussions and far voices that make the track a mix of total trasport and intensity. Sostanze Records is proud to present a release that will make you thinking, something that will stay a long time in your playlists. Warm hearts.
