about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

GoH-637: Sado Rituals – The Desert of Unclean Spirits

Sinister, dark ambient noise walling from dry places inhabited by banished demons. Distant winds and demonic howlings meet ever-fluctuating noise textures.

“Overwrite”

From the land of the Rising Sun comes Overwrite, a beautiful album created by musician Tomoo Kosugi.

Overwrite composed of 10 songs is an album that matured for a year. An album that sounds like music that could be born naturally from the landscape itself. Quiet, cloudy and languid; ambiental and beautiful, but full of details that make the sound experience an unforgettable journey.

It’s a very beautiful and calm album that will stay in your minds for many months, especially now when the seasons are starting to get colder.

“Hymne an die Nacht”

‘this album is a tribute to the fascinating work of romantic poet Novalis – each track a poem of Novalis rendered with the exellent generative software ‘chant’ (which transforms each letter into a single tone to render it into chords and melodies) at www.waterplea.com.
I hope you enjoy the musical interpretation as much as I enjoyed reading the poems.’

Homeostasis

“Ulibox”

In memory of Ken Wilcox. Recorded live at a bushfire benefit gig in Lismore Australia, in February 2020, several days before the unexpected death of Maxwell Volume’s father Ken.

Max writes: “My father was deeply passionate about music, physics, general science & socialism – all passions which I not only share, but which have shaped my life in ways that are impossible to understate. This track is dedicated to him with love.”

“Staring into Oblivion”

From the eg0cide Productions release notes:

“We welcome back long time contributor John Beers aka Luciftias with a new album of subtle droning ambient, featuring contributions of his cousin and collaborator Caleb Beers. Like most of their work, Staring Into Oblivion is based on guitar sounds, often heavily treated but more recognizable on some tracks here – always hypnotic.”

Vulpiano Records Sampler EP

“Vol. 17”

Vulpiano Records is proud to present a sprawling chronicle of the transcendent compositions released through the label during 2022, including Netlabel Day, by our generous and talented collaborators for a singular listening experience.

There is a continuous sonic motif of the sublime, and the possible impressions within contain multitudes: time and place, knowing, chaos, Gaia, the vastness of space, death, life, suffering, nirvana…In the long traditions of drone and ambient music, it is a canvas for the listener and an acoustic salve that opens channels new and subtly re-wires our senses.

Breathing out while listening, you sense the artists vaporizing and reshaping the rubble of the last few years – gifting us precious moments to do the same.

The label will likely be on hiatus for the rest of 2023 while we regroup and ascertain where to go from here.
