about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Luka Prinčič – Albatross EP

Luka Prinčič

“Albatross EP “

At the heart of it all lies a choreography of sounds – noises and tones and everything in-between. Of course there’s always the body. And its movement. Mental images flashing somewhere in the brain, a foot tapping, that feeling in the stomach and somewhere down the lungs when you’re hit with an emotional resonance. The whole brain is lighting up. And we never know it. Perhaps you are standing up already and you move to the beat. Lightly. The hips or knees jerking. Or you are a two-year old that is all open before your brain connections are pruned already and you start restricting your immediate impulses. Or you are just curled on the bed with headphones on with a torrent within.

I cannot hide the desire that this music would perhaps be heard beyond from what it was made for at first. That it should be thought without the missing component which it was made to harmonize with, to be a support to. It’s a standalone. Or so I wish. It irrevocably connects to its past, to its sources. Many threads have been drawn from many spindles to knit it. Some were planned, some not. Some were conscious, some not. And then there’s also an atmosphere. A socio-sonic environment. It’s where the listener comes in with all her baggage. And joining happens – through very particular nodes: those who moved to it, those who pressed buttons so it became a recording, those who thought about it and searched for moves, those who organized the sounds, bodies, reflections, feed-backs, and experiences. And then, reaching the ears and auditory cortex the music reorganizes itself again. Thus, it has an irrevocable future, and more resonance.

Albatrosses: it’s how they looked like, how they moved. It’s how they were called, how they named themselves and carried that name proudly.

I’m grateful to: Maja, Urška, 4H of 2016/17 SVŠGL class, Igor, Tina, Matjaž, my Patreon patrons, Emanat, SVŠGL, Iljus Wifmo, The Internet, Little Simz, and Dmitri Shostakovich.

Jan Strach – Bjurwa Fantomatyczna

[UPL 073]

Jan Strach

“Bjurwa Fantomatyczna”

“Absolutely uncategorizable combination of rock, casio-electronics, lo-fi, majestic pop, punk, post-punk, krautrock, full of colliding samples, guitars, keyboards, whiny effects, but also beautiful melodies and non-dumb lyrics. For lack of a better term called by me “psychedelic chaos-pop”. A work of constantly sleep-deprived madman, made with love and as carefully as the modest setup allowed, so as to depict, as closely as possible, the inside of his tired head.”

Ivan Black – Aural Sketchings

[brhnet49]

Ivan Black

“Aural Sketchings”

Twenty-three works of ambient doodling’s, short soundscapes, or possible soundtracks. The idea behind the project was to allow artists, film directors or animators to use them with their work. If I get mentioned in the project for providing the music. Allowing the works to work with or inspire other works. It would be great to build on this idea so groups of artists are working together on small projects all over the world, sharing ideas and concepts together.

“One Hundred Sights EP”

Thuoom – Circadian

[thump319]

Thuoom

“Circadian”

Circadian is the sixth full-length album under name Thuoom. The starting point was an hour-long live improvisation played in a cave (Ambient Evening 6, Parainen, Finland). During this event, Tuomo did an a cappella piece while Barque Sound Experiment (aka BSE) played synthesizers. While for most of the tracks there are no hints of synths, two tracks feature BSE sounds extensively. Nevertheless, Tuomo considers this his first a cappella full-length. The end result features more relaxed ambient sounds than the previous release, Fokus.

Instruments used on this record: Human voice alongside Arturia Microbrute Analog Synthesizer & Korg MS-2000, all echoing in a cave.

Música Inmobiliaria – Dance

[pn122]

Música Inmobiliaria

“Dance”

“‘Dance’ is almost as old as man on earth. The fetus kicks the belly of its mother with rhythm. Sweet woddles to the meter of the music with the first steps. School partie include typical dances. From child to the older adult, everyone is dancing.

It is in these terms that I understand Música Inmobiliaria’s work – parallel project of José Gallardo -, titled ‘Dance’, as part of human reality, ‘Who could say that they have never danced?’

Now, the currents of dance music are extensive and for all tastes. What summons us is electronic. A rich sound of featuring classic analog sounds, old-fashioned electro along with vocoder, there is glitch, synthesized strings pads, powerful sinusoidal basses, in sawtooth and squares, TR-808 sound and a robotic voice that says ‘I want to dance’… Why not do it? It even has a rumba to Jean Michel closing the album to enthuse you.

An album with taste and flavor, with textures that, in an imaginative way, present us with a different, experimental and successful dance music. All in good time with Música Inmobiliaria.”

Various – Into The Rift Volume Two

Various – Into The Rift Volume Two
[CAAN0002]

Various

“Into The Rift Volume Two”

The theme “World Wide Storms” for Into The Rift Volume Two, was inspired by looking at the world around us, the events and issues that are facing us. Whether those events are political, social, environmental, or something else, everyone has been touched by some looming storm in front of us.

Part of the fun in making a theme like this was that it left the artists open to interpretation. It could be literal, metaphor, allegory, or any of other ideas that the artists had in mind. And there are fifteen very different perspectives on the storms in our world today.

But there is also a consistency to this release. It’s not just a collection of recordings thrown together. Each artist has contributed a work that fits within the theme, making for a recording that is more experience than it’s predecessor.

The seventeen tracks on Into The Rift Volume Two represent a lot of different thoughts on the world, right now. But, I am optimistic about one thing: this is a work that will transcend current events.

Pk jazz Collective – Safe From Harm

[Netlabel Day 2017]

Pk jazz Collective

“Safe From Harm”

Песня “What If?”

Circa State – Homegrown

[386]

Circa State

“Homegrown”

A new artist comes to Kahvi now, Circa State appeared in my inbox recently with a nice chilled selection in the form of a demo which grabbed my attention from the start. A blend of ambient and emotional sounds, with more acoustic inspired elements, taking you on a journey through a summer field with the grass sweeping in the breeze. RnB beats threaten to blow away the gentle vibes, but never too overpowering.

A great introduction to the hot summer months by Circa State.

Mastering by Mnemonic Studios.

Escape Now! – Lichtung

[phokes100]

Escape Now!

“Lichtung”

Breathe. Invisible micro worlds. In darkness.

Escape Now!’s music went more and more microscopic in the years after 2003. Starting from the IDM electronica point he eventually arrived in the ambient domain. Lichtung is a fifty minutes laid back microscope universe, visualizing this path.

Please do not wonder, the release will be published as catalogue number 100, that was not set until now. A festive compilation was thought to go with this number but this was not realized so far, so let’s party and compile later, maybe with the 150 or 200 : )

C_C – Impendulo

[D!HR-34]

C_C

“Impendulo”

For its 34th release, Da ! Heard It Records is warming up the machines to trace some new paths.
Impendulo is C_C’s new cassette.
Packaged in quasi-monochrome illustrations with quasi-absurd architectural tendencies, the visuals emphasize the kinetic art and foreshadow what one is about to hear: chain reactions and strange angles; it all moves and it all hits.
This cassette is an absolute beat garage!
Think of a little place where things are done by hand, geared towards total customization, fine-tuning; truly without concession and C_C is the boss. He’s the one with his nose under the hood and adjusting everything by ear. In total contrast with factory and chain-work sound, C_C knows how to use a system as Low-Cost as Low-Fi. Not afraid of getting his hands dirty!
The electronic sound is played from the fingertips, and it’s audible: the patterns aren’t dull and the rhythms brilliant.
It also plays with codes, and plays with them in a laid-back way, arm hanging out the window, headlights fully on. It advances tirelessly, entertaining without using, definitely more auto-reverse than auto-stop. Natural born bottom-of-time, C_C plays it in four-wheel drive, for all terrains, and completely versatile in all respects. He alternates straight hitting lines, feedback turns, and reverb drifts, and allows himself to ride right in the middle, his kick as pressed as the pedal, larsen melodies comfortably settled in the backseat.
At full speed, it’s blinking from all sides, counterpoint at every corner. With always one ear on the rearview mirror, and the GPS evidently out of order… drifting away from the roots is inevitable. In Impendulo, one is thus neither here nor there, but rather on unknown territory with no markers, never safe, but always sound. Welcome to the fourth (rid)dimension, this four-track game that summons hormones and neurons, active listening, and active dancing.
The drum is electronic and its skin is unbreakable, and in a thousand miles, it will still be playing, unfettered. One hit up, one hit down, the rhythmics spar without any low hits and most importantly without the rotundity that fishing for sound can bring. With C_C, it’s refined and chiseled by ear on the mixing side. The composition is stripped of anything superfluous, reduced to the bones, and you feel it in your bones: trans, love it or leave it.
Impendulo, the 34th release of Da ! Heard It Records is distributed under a Creative Commons BY_NC_ND license.
