about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

The Cherry Blues Project – Station EP

[ca070]

The Cherry Blues Project

“Station EP”

“Station” is an EP.
The sources of this album are from the album “El Viaje Mistico” (The Mystical Journey), originally released in 2001.
The sounds of “El Viaje” are, essentially, fields recordings from a journey by train in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
For “Stations” we selected fragments and sections from those recordings and we remixed them to obtain new tracks.
We think that “Station” is a soundscape. We are very satisfied with the results, because we believe that the originals recordings have been improved in this album

Ghost teeth – Religion and glitter

Ghost teeth

“Religion and glitter”

This album comes with an eclectic mixture of Drone, Noise, field rec of rain and some spoken word. It captures the spirit of confession in a nutshell – maybe doing it in another way, maybe in the same way. Who knows? This album draws you into itself, you will get sucked in and you will be forced to listen but you will enjoy every second.

Dr.800XL – Epifanía

[pn101]

Dr.800XL

“Epifanía”

“Epifanía (Epiphany) (From the Latin epiphanīa: f. manifestation, appearance, or revelation). – This corresponds to the final album of the trilogy initiated in 2006 with ‘Anomia‘ (pn007), continued then with ‘Vesania‘ (pn047) in 2009; and, as such, it continues the course and the dynamic of these 3 states (the diffuse confusion in the beginning, the unbridled madness of the mature conflict, and then, the illumination and calm of the resolution), trying to give an account of various biographical and creative states of the author. ‘Epifanía‘ establishes itself, at the same time, as a point of inflection with profound changes to the stylistic and discursive in this delightfully haphazard route that is life and its creatures-creations.”

Felipe Zúñiga Herranz aka Dr.800XL
(Santiago, Chile, diciembre 2015)

“‘Epifanía‘ (Epiphany), completes the trilogy of Dr.800XL for Pueblo Nuevo… an exercise in electronica of high flight, fresh and full of spatiality. Reunification of samples in a Down-tempo beat, with techno tinges and with a palette of spatial/temporal synthesis of ambient tone. In this multiverse of intricate breaks, playful glitches, with contemplative tone and with a marked experimental accent, Felipe Zúñiga Herranz drives the pulleys to give us a work that makes its impression on the listening, through the richness and variety of the compositions. A disc that crowns in an exiting way this musical/discursive continuity… in good time Doc.”

Héctor “Polar” Aguilar

(Punta Arenas, Chile, diciembre 2015)

“The Sound as a tool of echolocation for tracing emotional and mental maps. The Beats like serial lightning strikes forming thoughts. The Sequences forming successive images that vanish at the boundary between the Conscious and the Unconscious. Glitches like nervous tics that we strive to conceal. Arpeggios of Acoustic Guitar that evoke moments that will not return. Synths that move around like cirrus in the sky that our eyes can span. Reverbs that bounce off the walls of our internal cavern. This is how I can describe this “Epiphany” that Felipe Zuñiga gives us today. Fast, enlightening, but not ephemeral. If we listen carefully to them, his pieces take the form of portals, on whose threshold oscillate vibrations that evoke a wide palette of colors, playful and far from the claim of superiority of the Musician above the Listener. Thank you very much for this album, Felipe: I believe that you were happy creating it, and in these times, to share that is a significant and necessary gesture.”

Secrets Of The 45 – Wake Bell

[UPL 065]

Secrets Of The 45

“Wake Bell”

“It was about time to pay tribute to my only addiction – caffeine, which has become a necessity to properly start my day. And what better way to honour it than by making an album entirely out of the sounds of my trusted coffee machine?

Like an old friend, this familiar buzz has been present in my life for years, setting rhythm to my workday. I decided to make its warm, enveloping orchestra of hums, hisses, gurgles into a pleasant ambient album – with help of effect pedals and analog processing.”

-Secrets Of The 45

And there you have it, a set of droning, ever-morphing etudes based on a hum of a coffeemaker. Each piece paints the noise in a slightly different shade, mirroring different stages of the wake cycle (or the “wake bell” as the album cover depicts) – from the hushed whalesong of “drowning in drowsy” to the urgent, stuttering “c16f” with hisses and sirens going off to give the listener a good waking kick.

Mauro Sambo – ...World’s Futures

[PT019]

Mauro Sambo

“...World’s Futures”

The project is a CD which consists of recorded sounds inside the halls of the 2015 Venice Biennale. I worked on field recordings, altering things while trying to maintain a certain sense. I excluded the installations that had soundtracks, preferring those which were closer to the noise … The work is comprised of two tracks: the first track is made with the sounds of the pavilions in the Giardini, the second track with the sounds inside the environments of the Arsenale.

sustainer – radiolas

“radiolas”

ARTIST SUSTAINER
TITLE RADIOLAS
LABEL ROOM40
CAT # DRM434
FORMAT DIGITAL
RELEASE 16.10.2015
WEBLINK: EMPORIUM.ROOM40.ORG

##This item is a pre-order and digitally delivers on Oct 16 2015##

There is a history of music stemming from time spent recovering from injury. On such example is Brian Eno’s story of creating ambient music, following a prolonged period being couch bound with a broken leg.

Sustainer’s Radiolas, shares a similar tale of horizontal inspirations.

Whilst recovering from a serious health condition, Alex Alarcón aka Sustainer, began working with a very limited palette of equipment at arms reach. This mix of small recorders, pedals and other electronics become a processing chain through which he started to feed shortwave radio recordings.
Having worked with radio recordings previously it didn’t take long for these recordings to take on a very personal and cathartic aesthetic. “Years ago i used to record things with another shortwave receiver at my parents house,” Alex explains, “because it was near the sea and you could catch easily stations from north of Africa. Sometimes I was even able to reach marine stations from boats crossing the Mediterranean Sea. It was an incredibly inspirational feeling tapping into these streams of sound”

On Radiolas, Sustainer creates a metaphoric ocean of harmonic noise. Waves of frequency collide and lap at the edges of one another. The richness of the material, both in terms of texture and harmonics, invites the listener to sink deep beneath the surface and to become drowned in the intricacy of the interlocking layers of distended radiowaves.

the volume settings folder – the Berlin rehearsal

[EKR012]

the volume settings folder

“the Berlin rehearsal”

“the volume settings folder” is italian guitarist M. Beckmann’s latest project, consisting in ambient, drone, post-rock music with a bit of field recordings and Noise. He developed a sort of dark ambient/drone style, playing mostly with guitar and analog-effects, than mixing this lo-fi music with field recordings: record, cut, loop, slow down, hide high frequencies. The process takes place in a rush, exploring the most natural ideas and spontaneous inspiration of the artist, taking this work in the field of improvisation music.
This album (live recorded during the rehearsal for the Ekar Records Sunday event in Berlin),bring us back in the almost-foggy countryside of north-east Italy where he is based
and from where the aesthetic, the musical tastes and the philosophy of Ekar records are born.
An essential part of the experiences that were shared are finally present on this sharing-platform.

Jan Grünfeld – Music for plants

[LBN031]

Jan Grünfeld

“Music for plants”

The tracks of “Music for plants”are based on a live improvisation with electric guitar and a looping machine. Jan Grünfeld has recorded the music in the summer of 2014 on a huge balcony of an old villa in Bad Muskau, right at the German-Polish border – a very arcadian place! The music is free, like a suntrap. The plants grow better with Jan Grünfeld’s music! But not turn up too loud! And do not forget to water!

“Music for plants” is a joint release by La bèl [LBN031] & Headphonica [hpcd109]

Павкашавет бантут – Сон прошлогоднего снега

[SCL165]

Павкашавет бантут

“Сон прошлогоднего снега”

New album of Chita musician and poet Sergei Zolin, aka Pavkashavet Bantut perhaps the most dismal in the discography of the artist. «Сон прошлогоднего снега» – is a 35-minute dive into the darkness of what we call the post-Soviet space. And if “The voices on the stairs of Jacob” may denote something, so it would be the voices on a ladder between earth and hell. Quite notable is the only thing with text support – «Долгое прощание», after which you will feel binding approaching of hopelessnes from all sides.

Wings of an Angel – Meet Some Potential Candidates To Join MGTOW

[Self Release ]

Wings of an Angel

“Meet Some Potential Candidates To Join MGTOW”

What is this infamously renowned cultural phenomena of men going their own way? Why do they go their own way and where to do they go on their own? Is this a dream or a reality of many men? And what about the women? Are they to go their own way as well? Or perhaps their way oft times merges with the way of the men?

This LP doesn’t necessarily answer any of these questions because it also goes astray on its own way upon each renewed listening… But perhaps it will open a door of perception or give out a clue…

I will just add a quick note that is self-evident to me, but oft sounds ridiculous to others (others who have the tendency of taking themselves and their creative output in an unfathomably grave manner): I think that we, as artists or something along those lines, are like clowns or better yet buffoons – in the best sense of these words. In my perception, art cannot exist separately of humor. Usually – the more, the merrier. And I feel that similarly to psychotherapists, we are at best profoundly reflective entertainers in this multilayered Kabuki theater people call human life. Thus, in my eyes, at all costs, even at the price of great personal concessions, we have to strive towards the greatest freedom; that is often times, like life itself by the way, is a heart-key-punch or rather a merciless smack to the index of the mind. Far-away from any kind of dogma – be it religious (atheism incl.) or spiritual, cultural, academic, artistic etc’.

At night,
I escape from Truth in zealous vigor!
Whereas human beings act in the name of Truth,
I surround myself with Divine Lies.

May The Supreme Drone Accompany You To Your Greatest Adventure!
