about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Guillaume Beauron “Le respadou”
The sound work Le respadou uses one of the first recordings I made as a teenager, around 1993-94 with a walkman cassette recorder and a tiny microphone, no headphones. Please forgive some bad handling noises !
We visited with my family les Bru, a brother and a sister, farmers in Laveyron, in the South of France, where my family is from. I recorded the discussion in their house about the period of transition from patois/occitan to french language.
Various other soundscapes are being used with no treatments other than a bit of equalizing, mixing, and a touch of reverb here and there.

“Aural Vault: Chapter Three”

alfa00 & LR Friberg – Aural Vault: Chapter Three
The third and final part of the Aural Vault series consists of three expansive, intricate tracks by Slavek Kwi (alfa00, Artificial Memory Trace) and Linn Friberg (LR Friberg, Nimbostrata). The tracks span a period of over a year, with Slavek creating them between 2022 and 2023, and Linn adding her contributions in late 2024. The gap in time was due to personal matters unrelated to the music, but the process remained remarkably consistent. Artistically, the material is highly refined, building on their 2022 collaborative album “Aura Colemount” on Mahorka. The work carries a timeless quality, evolving from the anxiety of 2022 into a more cautiously optimistic mood shaped by the passage of time.

bevietystė (placelessness) tells a bittersweet docu-fictional story through field recordings, ambient, dub, electronic, and other musical experiments. Conceived in 2019, each track is dedicated to a different person, exploring the human condition via themes of mortality, the search for meaning, loneliness, loss, and more.
The result is a deeply atmospheric piece that plays with the tension between memory, imagination, and the passage of time.

“Ideas
between dreams and reality
concrete sounds and head in the clouds
look with eyes closed
listen inside/outside (mental/sight)

I wanted to mix field recordings and more “melodic” sounds, coming from instruments or atmospheres captured here and there
Play on passages, links between exterior and interiority
The sounds from outside: the landscape; the others being like words in the head, “inner melodies”
I tried to mix all this to create an imaginary place
The images came a little later, the tracks just finished, these spaces seemed obvious to me to clarify my feelings” –Philippe Neau

“𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺”

𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺 is a hauntingly beautiful soundscape album that transports listeners to a world of eerie landscapes and forgotten memories.

Composed of two meticulously crafted tracks, the album weaves together a tapestry of whispers, creaks, and distant howls to create a sense of sonic unease.

From the hauntingly melodic parts to the atmospheric field recordings, each track is a masterclass in sonic storytelling, conjuring images of abandoned cities, haunted forests, and desolate landscapes.

𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺 is a soundscape album that is a carefully crafted tapestry of textures, tones, and rhythms, designed to transport listeners to a world of mystery and contemplation. It is an immersive and unsettling journey that will leave you questioning the boundaries between reality and the unknown.

After 3 years of silence, Sakanaka is back with a new solo project. Under the name neuheimeraltz Sakanaka brings us the sounds of field recording.

In his previous project we had techno, new wave and some noise, now we have soundscapes of Japan’s second largest city, mixed with industrial electronics.

Putting all the pieces together, we have yet another comprehensive view of what this duo does, revealing the potential in various sound styles.

Once again I tell you, this duo really is a surprise music box.

Dental Drill Slips – Plays Away

Dental Drill Slips – Plays Away

Dental Drill Slips

“Plays Away”

Dental Drill is autistic and so not big on collaborations. However over the years he has cropped up on a few compilations on other labels, sometimes as part of tourmaline hum. We are taking the 10th anniversary of TCFSR on Bandcamp as an opportunity to pull these tracks together to make a complete set of the work of Dental Drill available on the label that he oversees. Many of DDs ‘away’ tracks are from the early days of the Naviar Records Haiku Music Challenge. naviarrecords.bandcamp.com www.naviarrecords.com
The Naviar Haiku is music inspired by a weekly assigned Haiku poem. It is also ten years old this year and is well past the 500th iteration. Dental Drill contributed to five of the first twelve Haiku, and number 131.
Just Around The Bend appears on the first compilation of Naviar Haiku naviarrecords.bandcamp.com/album/haiku-1 and Tilt is on the second compilation naviarrecords.bandcamp.com/album/haiku-2

In 2015 Dental Drill teamed up with Trixie Delight to create the track Urball for the compilation Ursonate on the Institute For Alien Research label. As the title of the album suggests the goal was to create a work of musique concrète inspired by the sound poem Ursonate by Kurt Schwitters.

Fantastique Plastique [Drillmix] is a collage of a work of the same name by Roofhare that appeared on the album of the same name released on the Mobius Spin label. mobiusspin.bandcamp.com/album/mbsspn010-fantastique-plastique

In 2020 dog park invited artists from across the world to create their own track using Furchick’s raw recording of making pancakes in her kitchen. Two and a bit kitchens is Dental Drill’s contribution dogparkrecords.bandcamp.com/album/kitchen

In the days before TCFSR launched on Bandcamp tourmaline hum created the track Strange Appetites for The Sound of FAG ASH Volume three released by FAG ASH Records. fagashrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-sound-of-fag-ash-volume-three

Some artists from Burnt Seed Records contributed to the TCFSR Solo Word Project compilation EPOCH released in January 2024. In the same month the track 9224 by Dental Drill appeared on volume 3 of Burnt Seed’s annual showcase ‘Sprouted’. burntseedrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sprouted-volume-3

“Live (@Go Romaria Cultural’23)”

The new Portuguese Giacometti is back at MiMi Records.

This time Luís Antero brings us the result of the Concerto para Olhos Vendados (Concert for Blindfolded Eyes), which began with a sound recording workshop and attentive and amplified listening, which took place in the last edition of Go Romaria Cultural, in Gouveia.

In this “live” album, Luís Antero reorganized the pieces and sound recordings used in the concert, and also added other recordings from the workshop.

A highly sensorial album, ideal for fans of field recording.

Vanishing – Corridor Vanishing Corridor

Vanishing – Corridor Vanishing Corridor
[mhrk385]

Vanishing

“Corridor Vanishing Corridor”

Vanishing Corridor is the synthesis of American sound experimenters Kingo Sleemer (Western Maryland) and Chris Campbell (St. Paul, Minnesota).

Campbell has been recording dark ambient/sound collage/field-recorded soundscapes as The Creeping Man since 2017, both as self-releases and on various labels (Hrea’m Recordings, Mono Time, Dub Cthonic, Veinte 33, Preston Capes Tapes, Wormhole World, and Shady Ridge Records), most recently finding inspiration via collaborations with like-minded artists.

Kingo has been part of the experimental music collective Halaka since the late 90s, with whom he’s recorded and released many albums in many formats; he has recently recorded and released music as Allele Cog Experiment, HOZ and Experimental College. He is also a co-founder of Pile Records.

The two share an affinity for the absurd, the obtuse, and the off-kilter.

Vanishing Corridor started as a back-and-forth exercise of sound sharing and manipulation, without preconceived themes or intentions.

The project debuts on February 18, 2024 on Mahorka with a beautiful self-titled cassette release.
