about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

The Impossebulls – The Devils You Know

[BSOG0057]

The Impossebulls

“The Devils You Know”

Today The Impossebulls return with their first album of all new material since 2014’s impressive “Everything Has Changed; Nothing Is Different”! The new album, “The Devils You Know” is another dope selection of joints that simultaneously take you back to that classic boom bap sound, while also remaining fresh and new.

As with the previous album, The Bulls enlist a little help from good friends and legends… the most notable of which is one of the founding members of the great Stetsasonic and one of the most distinctive voices in hip-hop… Daddy-O! Of course that’s not all… the great Kyle Jason lends his voice to the album… as does the talented Anime Oscen. Last, but surely not least… our own The Honorable Sleaze drops a verse!

This dope new album isn’t all, though… in the coming five months, The Bulls are dropping the 5×5 series of EPs. One each month featuring more new music! Also, very soon, fans will be able to purchase “Devil’s Work”… a limited edition box set containing the album and all five EPs, so fans don’t have to wait to get all that fresh music into their ears! We’ll let you know when that becomes available. For now… we hope you enjoy the new album.

A very sincere thank you to The Impossebulls and all collaborators for delivering yet another underground / independent / netlabel hip-hop classic. Sleepers will sleep… those who are woke will hear it. blocSonic’s going to continue to wake ’em. Word.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Nor – Bicchiere Mezzo Pieno

[IYE11]

Nor

“Bicchiere Mezzo Pieno “

We are happy and honoured to have Nor in our label. Nor is a young rapper from Savona, a city that got a good names in rap, like Dsa Commando, Overkill Army and others. Here we had a little talk with hi,e, and Nor confirmed to be a true rapper, never obvious. He talks well, but his music speaks better, rap without redemption for nothing and no one. Show no mercy.

Lil’ Stewy – Last Night

[SHM002]

Lil’ Stewy

“Last Night”

Lil’ Stewy gives insight into a romantic encouter with “Last Night”. Based in Knysna, Western Cape, Stewy returns with his second label single following “Break Free” his record-breaking debut release.

With an upbeat RnB twist, Stewy uses 808s to verbalise mental scenes of a sultry and sensual encounter. His signature singing-and-rapping combination offers an unflitered journey into his artistic nature.

In comparison to previous Shaloma works, Last Night offers a unique up-tempo and commercial sound from the Cape Town-based South African netlabel.

Various Artists – netBloc Vol. 51: Embark!

[BSCOMP0051]

Various Artists

“netBloc Vol. 51: Embark!”

Whenever I begin the process of listening for a netBloc release, I have to wade through such a large amount of not so awesome music. While doing so, when I do find gems, it immediately changes my mood and makes the task of finding more great music, that much easier. Once I’ve got about 30 or so gems, I know that I’ve got some great music for the next volume, but what’s still unclear is which songs will ultimately make the cut, how well they’ll flow together and which ones I’ll have to remove because I can’t reach the artist or label. Eventually, though, I arrive at the final sequence that I can throw into my music player and listen to while preparing the compilation for release.

This time around, the final compilation is just so very, very good. Don’t get me wrong, each one is great, but there’s something about this collection of songs that’s unique. Perhaps it’s the way they flow together, or maybe certain songs work together so well that it makes the whole that much better. Whatever the case may be, I think netBloc Vol. 51: Embark! is likely to eventually be considered among your favorites… at least I hope so!

For this volume, we’ve got Electronic, Hip-Hop, House, Indie, Jazz, Post-Punk, Post-Rock & Soul from all over the world for you to enjoy and listen to. So download your copy… put your player on loop and spin it all day while you work!

A very special thanks to all participating artists and labels! Your support of the Creative Commons community by releasing your music with CC licenses is more important than you may know.

Donnie Ozone – Get Paid (Mouth Beat Mix) (Featuring DJ Phazer)

[BS450027]

Donnie Ozone

“Get Paid (Mouth Beat Mix) (Featuring DJ Phazer)”

Today our fortyFive release series continues with the blocSonic debut of lyricist Donnie Ozone! With some help from producer/DJ/beatboxer DJ Phazer, Donnie Ozone delivers us his first blocSonic fortyFive and boy is it dope!

As we continue to plan and develop our next phase as your favorite Creative Commons license driven music label, we continue to bring you music that proves that the mainstream is not where it’s at when it comes to quality music. If you solely depend on what the mainstream music industry spoon feeds you as your new music source, you are severely malnutritioned. Junk food is ok once in a while, but if that’s all you feed yourself, you’re not healthy. Enjoy these nutrients.

A huge thank you goes out to Donnie Ozone and DJ Phazer for an incredible debut fortyFive! Donnie… welcome to the blocSonic fam! I look forward to releasing more of your great music!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it!

Lil’ Stewy – Break Free feat. Tha Real U & The Essence

[SMH001]

Lil’ Stewy

“Break Free feat. Tha Real U & The Essence”

‘Break Free’ is a cross-regional collaboration between three regions of the South African Western Cape province.

The song features both West Coast and South Coast rappers, namely Tha Real U and Lil Stewy, accompanied by an Overberg artist known as The Essence.
It is the first Shaloma Muzik release by Lil Stewy, after joining the label in November 2014. The song anticipates the #ShalomaFuture series, proposed by the label for the year 2015. Upon release, ‘Break Free’ reached the Soundcloud Download Limit of 100 downloads after 3 hours and 38 minutes, making it the most rapidly downloaded Shaloma Muzik release to date.

It reflects the life of the three artist and their outlook at possible stardom. Knowing that they would need to increase their artistic reputation and build their careers in music, they each reflect on what it means to break free from everyday life through their passion for music and how this passion is interlinked with their reverence for God.

The song could be linked to a previous Shaloma Muzik release in 2012 known as ‘Long Nights’. This was the first Shaloma Muzik breakthrough release into the West Coast Hip-Hop community. Similarly, ‘Break Free’ became Shaloma’s breakthrough into various other communities – and audiences. It is the first release by the label after it’s redevelopment.

The first verse sees Lil Stewy introducing his ambitions with reference to his faith in the Lord and the promise he finds thereof.

The song continues with Tha Real U analyzing what his life feels like on a regular basis, and touches on what he aspires to withhold or reach. It also tickles the current state of Hip-Hop as Real U critiques and expresses his remorse thereof.

The concluding verse by The Essence provides a summary of both the previous two verses through the perspective of the rapper’s life.

Essence mentions that music is his release and expresses that although fame and stardom might not be reached, music is still a tool for expression.
He then adds that with God everything is possible to those who believe, motivating the listeners to put their faith in a Higher-being and striving to achieve their dreams.

Various Artists – netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic

[BSCOMP0050]

Various Artists

“netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic”

First and foremost, I’d like to send out an extra special thank you to all artists and netlabels who, over the years, have been part of our story through the netBloc series. When I first had the idea to begin this series in 2006, I really had no idea if anyone would be interested in being included on such a compilation series. I surely had no idea whether or not the listeners would come. Thankfully, the response was great and that has allowed us to build on that with our original release formats, as well! It’s been a hell of a ride thus far.

2016 promises to be an interesting year for us with new formats that will see us giving back to the Creative Commons community with very remix friendly content. It’s still too early to give away all the details of what we’ve got cooking, but stay tuned.

Today we’ve got netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic for you to enjoy — a selection that includes Hip-Hop, Synthpop, Indie, Rock, Electronic, Trip-Hop, Downtempo, Electro and Future Beats. A global collection which even includes a sneak-peak of a forthcoming Tha Silent Partner release, which is set to drop on February 9th!

Thanks again to all Vol. 50 artists and labels! As always, this series really couldn’t happen without you.

[SCL174]
