Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Lucy Freia – The Time That Went

What’s the difference between ‘mengenang’ (to reminisce) and ‘mengingat’ (to remember)? Why do we love to ‘reminisce’ about the past, but hesitate to ‘remember’ things that are ‘long gone’? We say that ‘memories’ or ‘nostalgic moments’ often ambush us suddenly, while ‘remembrance’ must be nurtured and fought for. The songs on Lucy Freia (Aya)’s debut album, in my view, take us on a mental journey in and out of these two modes.

Some friends agree that this album is highly cinematic: it evokes visual imagery of particular scenes. As for the genre of that cinema, I’d say it leans toward horror or thriller—territory that is not new for Aya. As a female composer actively creating music for string ensembles and orchestras, she has previously explored phenomena such as sleep paralysis (Ketindihan), the Sundel Bolong (a ghost in Indonesian folklore, in Anakku Mana), and ‘dreams’ as a space between sleep and wakefulness (30 Seconds Before Waking Up).

This time, however, the sonic elements she uses to craft these soundscapes have expanded: there are samples of fragmented news broadcasts, clips from childhood animated films, the sound of bells, and creeping-swelling piano/synth melodies layered over dark pads. Distortion effects and spatial audio techniques are also employed to immerse the listener’s body even deeper into each scene.

Occasionally, the crackle of a radio serves as a bridge between scenes—as if guiding us to tune in and out of familiar and unfamiliar sounds blended throughout the composition. This fusion might just be Aya’s special method for concocting ‘disruptive nostalgia’. The comfort of memories + the disturbance of recollections that surface during nostalgic moments = an experience of memory reproduction that is never as simple as we think. Enjoy getting lost in this dark and restless space. — Leilani Hermiasih

Lucy Freia is a composer based in Bandung, Indonesia. In 2022–2023, she studied composition privately with Matius Shanboone, and from 2023 to 2025 she continued her studies at the Royal College of Music, London, under the guidance of Kenneth Hesketh.

Freia is an active member of Perempuan Komponis and the Puantronik Study Club, and was also part of the Electronica Society at the Royal College of Music during her Master’s studies. Since 2018, she has been actively writing works in both contemporary classical and non-classical genres, influenced by 20th- and 21st-century composers, rock music subgenres, and electronic music. Since 2022, Freia has delved into electronic music and has written several works in fixed-media format, installations—presented at Electric Dreams: Constellation at the Royal College of Music—as well as acoustic-electronic hybrid pieces—performed by the Acacia Youth String Orchestra at Selasar Sunaryo in 2025 and at Museum MACAN in 2026.

In 1941 in Berlin, Hermann Schmidt wrote a Memorandum in favor of the founding of an institute for regulatory technology. Control and Regulation wills gave birth to cybernetics. Science without conscience is, but the ruin of the soul said Français Rabelais, he didn’t know how right he was. It’s just a question of time for a process to achieve its purpose.

Whereas the main problem is still the earth resources massive destruction. Cybernetic is the key to understand the fundamental problem with Artificial Intelligence. But things can’t be solved by being against or for AI. It need a better understanding of the roots : the technofascism. So despite being about artificial intelligence topic this album is absolutely AI-Free Music.

From Crem Road netlabel, as well recorded in Franche-Comté the epicenter of the evilest vibes, that the place from which comes as well Necrophile Humingbird netlabel, which produced the previous release posted before Crem Road has one to post here. But we’re less experimental, and sort of radio-friendly, although “real” electromagnetically shaped wave radios are still rare to be sharp enough to air Me In The Bath’s unique blend of dark noisy atmospheres and appealing pop tunes.

PROCESS:

Goff and LaGrega recorded ninety-nine minutes of unrehearsed improvisations on January 2, 2026, at the Taped Rugs Studio in Kansas City, Kansas, USA. The duo produced four individual recordings during the session, each following its own unique trail of interactive atmospheres and moods. Goff edited these recordings into their current forms between January and February, 2026, cutting the total playing time by roughly half of its original length.

The elements of “Uniphonic Dawn” were recorded first, as a single, digital, monophonic track. Originally intended as a test of the wiring set-up, this piece ended up displaying some considerable interactive artistry between the improvisers. Goff retained its monophonic attributes in his edit.

The other three improvisations were each recorded digitally as well as on cassette tape, through a Tascam 4–Track cassette deck. The cassette recordings broke the instrumentation into tracks that could be edited individually. Staying as true as possible to the ebbs and flows of the original improvisations, Goff removed some of the less compelling materials, moved some other elements forward and backward in time, and sparsely added effects to various bits. No materials from any of the four original recordings were transferred to any of the other original recordings. No new elements were added to any of the original recordings. No artificial intelligence (AI) was employed in the editing of this collection.

THEME (?)

As Goff painstakingly worked to refine these recordings, he became more and more conscious of how they acted together to subtly reveal the rudiments of a metaphorical jumping-off point for a journey into a new beginning. (Of course, this metaphor was conjured entirely by Goff’s imagination, which has often been known to stray from traditional human behaviors.) Goff’s whole “new beginning” idea was reinforced by the fact that this collection of recordings was literally birthed at the beginning of a new year.

Câmera Analógica – even the softest hearts need somewhere to rest

It is another beautiful debut in the MiMi Records catalogue.

This time, the project Câmera Analógica presents even the softest hearts need somewhere to rest, an EP built as a collection of small scenes, inspired by the aesthetics of visual novels and the soundtracks of the 2000s. Each track is presented with beautiful lo-fi beats that capture an intimate, quiet moment, where comfort, nostalgia, and emotional pause meet.

The record moves through urban landscapes, lighter weekends, and moments of contemplation, creating a safe space for feelings that don’t need to be explained. The track titles carry personal meanings, yet remain open to interpretation, inviting the listener to find their own stories within the sound.

An EP to listen to on repeat with headphones.
