about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

This archive includes past projects that document my activity as a music producer over the years. It offers a glimpse into my earlier music endeavors (2004-2019) and includes the collection of works as Nova Beat Estate (2019-2022), a production alias that evolved from the eponymous label. Also, the archive includes work from Nierika Productions, a successor to Nova Beat Estate. The previews showcase subjective highlights from both Nova Beat Estate and Nierika Productions, featuring collaborations with various artists, all of whom I appreciate for their contribution to my artistic growth.

M-PeX – Livre

[enrmp534]

M-PeX

“Livre”

LIVRE is the new album by M-PeX, a work that celebrates freedom and the essence of being free. With the collaboration of André Coelho on double bass, this primarily acoustic album, enriched with elements of ambient electronics, offers a deep exploration of dialogues and improvisations between the Portuguese guitar and the double bass. Composed of 15 tracks, including improvisations captured in direct take, LIVRE invites the listener on an introspective and liberating journey. Highlights include tracks such as ‘Balada da Costa Azul’, ‘Canto Al-Ulyã’, ‘Cónios’, and ‘Al-Çonik’. Released as part of the PRALAC artistic residency, with edition by Enough Records and artwork by Marco Madruga, this album is a reflection on the importance of freedom in artistic creation, in life, and in the world.

Jazzaria – Convivial Eve

Jazzaria

“Convivial Eve”

Liminal in time and space,
In between a social place –
This is where the eve of Eves occurs.

Civilly inept? Not quite –
But inclined to times of night
When all is quiet save that which reverbs.

Yet when it has a gentle frame,
When those involved can feel the same,
Convivial events can be enjoyed.

Consider those who feel as one,
Separate for many suns –
Reuniting fills a certain void.

Featuring improvised clarinet.

Pablo Gomez Bate – Dinamica Estructural

[pn234]

Pablo Gomez Bate

“Dinamica Estructural”

Right from the opening bars of the album, prominent, deep, and well-defined bass lines emerge, hinting at the sonic textures to be discovered throughout this journey, accompanied by syncopated pulses flirting with hip hop, IDM, and, why not, nods to urban rhythms.

As the minutes pass, playful elements come to the fore. Samples sourced from various places, such as movies or cartoons, bring a smile to the listener’s face upon recognition, revealing a different musical approach from this artist compared to his previous works. We can also recognize small synths (almost toy-like) that complement the sonic spectrum with subtle textures and melodies, along with other analog elements like guitars that occasionally appear within the soundscape, transporting us to different terrains within the same track.

As we approach the middle section of this work, the path becomes more intricate. The landscapes take on a grayer hue, and the textures surrounding us transform into denser layers, making us pay more attention to the details and pause to contemplate with greater precision what Gómez Bate is proposing.

Finally, we arrive at a more tranquil harbor, with the sensation of having completed a diverse sonic journey, filled with curves and nooks that leave us in a pleasant state of enjoyment, having listened to a well-told story with corners to explore the next time we embark on this voyage.

Cristiano Bocci & Smiltzo – SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS

[zen295]

Cristiano Bocci & Smiltzo

“SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS”

This is an album inspired by the “Sator square” (also known as “magic square”), a paleochristian inscription found in several places around Italy (the most famous is in Pompei), whose meaning is mysterious even today.

Five tracks; each one of those is a word of the square, and each one consists of five sonic ambients, which are the letters that make up the word itself. Each letter has its own melodic and harmonic content. In order to respect the palindrome pattern of the square, negative harmony was applied.

An instrumental concept album.

Augen – Driftia Diaries

[[mi317]]

Augen

“Driftia Diaries”

Twelve years later Gabriel Mendes (a.k.a. Augen) is back. Over this time he hasn’t stopped releaseing and his music is becoming more interesting each time.

Driftia Diaries is a journey into abstract electronics and the result is a complex and even paradoxical musical balance, disconnected and interconnected, fresh and warm, lyrical and strange, all at the same time.

So if you’re in the IDM scene you will find here a remarkable recommendation for a stimulating and captivating musical immersion on headphones.
Bon voyage!!!

Stanley Hottek – Stupid Love

[HTK05]

Stanley Hottek

“Stupid Love”

At the beginning of the year, Sascha Müller (Psychocandies) asked me if I wanted to do my part for Netlabel Day and contribute a track. Full of enthusiasm, I immediately agreed, only to later realize that time was running out. Too much on my mind, too many projects at once – my problem again. At the last minute, I found a track that had been hidden in my infamous drawer since 2021. Since I recognized potential, I got to work on it, as always at the last minute, changing a few nuances here and there and giving my Waldorf Pulse a voice again.

The theme of the track is “Stupid Love” – a reflection on how crazy love can sometimes be. Whether it’s the passion for music, the relationship with your better half or the incessant urge for toxic bonds and intense, physical music – love has many facets.

As always, you can download the track for free from my Bandcamp profile and from today you can also hear it somewhere in the vastness of this stream during the online stream for Netlabel Day.

Support is welcome, downloads are welcome, sharing is welcome.

Jazzaria – Korobeiniki

Jazzaria

“Korobeiniki”

In a world where everything inexorably descends, futility pervades. Despite going down, detritus piles up, leaving two possible outcomes – it messily agglomerates beyond the point of practicality and causes the end, or it fits together just so. But instead of forming a precise and solid structure, at the moment where it is needed most, it simply disappears.

Featuring electric keys, ethnic percussion, synthesizers, strings, balalaika, and effects.

WUSA – WUSA

[YESNO 112]

WUSA

“WUSA”

Wusa, formerly known as Band Zoo, has officially adopted its new name – a moniker inspired by the rich history and philosophical teachings of the Khawagaka tradition. Khawagaka itself is a doctrine inscribed on ancient manuscript leaves from the Samasthamarta civilization. The discovery of these Khawagaka manuscripts has unlocked a gateway to delve deeper into the history and traditions that gave rise to this profound teaching.

The Khawagaka doctrine, along with its spoken language and script, was first introduced in the band’s previous album. This latest release delves even further into the origins of Khawagaka teachings and the culture from which they emerged. It also explores the impact of knowledge industrialization and technological advancement on cultural values and traditions.

Wusa’s musical project is part of Rully Shabara’s long-term artistic endeavor centered around the Khawagaka manuscript, which encompasses language, script, belief systems, mythology, philosophy, history, and culture. This ambitious project operates under the auspices of the Khawagaka Historical and Cultural Archives Institute, an independent organization dedicated to tracking, excavating, preserving, and disseminating all findings related to Khawagaka history.

The Wusa music group functions as a division within the Rijmana Council, tasked with interpreting Khawagaka teachings and culture, and popularizing them among contemporary society through modern mediums such as music, film, and other formats. The names of the Zugrafi script and the Zufrasi spoken language were also coined by the Rijmana Council.

Jazzaria – Ineffability

Jazzaria

“Ineffability”

Attempting truth, one tries many things. Up, down, left, right, directions that are seemingly expansive yet form a stricture we wish to free ourselves of. What is a diagonal pitch? Can things overlap, separately? And what exists beyond the horizon of the manifest?

Featuring clarinet “sightreading” (improvisationally interpreting) the cover image, itself titled “True Glimpses 1” by Franziska Baumann (franziskabaumann.ch).
